Heiseikan Shiosaitei
Treat yourself to a private open-air hot spring on your own balcony, where you can soak in warm water while watching the vast sea horizon.
Heiseikan Shiosaitei Hanatsuki
"The hotel's location is super convenient. After getting off at Hakodate Station, you can take buses 95, 95A, or 96 right outside the station (get off at Yunokawa Onsen Station), and the hotel is directly across the street. Conversely, you can catch a bus from the hotel entrance directly to JR Hakodate Station. This is incredibly handy, especially given how expensive taxis are in Japan. The hotel rooms are very spacious. While the facilities are a bit dated, the big plus is that the room comes with a private, continuously flowing hot spring bath – it's not one of those you have to turn on and off with a tap. It's semi-open-air, looking out onto the ocean, so there's no need to worry about privacy. Soaking in the onsen while enjoying the sea view, perhaps with an ice cream [chuckle] – it really doesn't get much more relaxing! Since we booked a Japanese-style room, staff came to make our beds after check-in. The mini-fridge was stocked with complimentary bottled water, bottled tea, and beer. Unfortunately, my family and I don't drink, so we didn't make use of that service [facepalm]. Right next to the hotel is the 'Ichimonji' ramen shop, and the Tropical Botanical Garden, where you can watch monkeys soaking in the hot springs, is just a 300-500 meter walk away. Guests staying at Hanatsuki can also request a window seat at breakfast to enjoy the sea view while they eat."
La Vista Hakodate Bay
Relax in a natural hot spring on the top floor, where you can soak in a wooden tub while enjoying a stunning night view of the harbour.
Yunokawa Onsen Emi Hakodateya
Savour delicious local flavours and seasonal seafood prepared with care, offering a warm and satisfying dining experience that truly brings a smile to your face.
NIPPONIA HOTEL Hakodate Port Town
"We used this hotel to celebrate a birthday. Immediately after booking, we received information about the meals and other services, and we appreciated being able to enter allergies and any requests for the day in detail. On the day of our stay, the hotel staff provided information about the hotel itself and nearby tourist attractions during check-in, which made the experience even more appealing. The room was more spacious than we expected, and we loved its clean and warm atmosphere. Although our stay in Hakodate was only one night, we think we could easily enjoy a more relaxing hotel stay here, so we would like to visit again next time. The course we had featured local ingredients, and both the food and drinks were delicious."
Imagine Hotel & Resort
Forget your worries at this modern seaside resort, featuring spacious rooms and large windows that let in plenty of natural light and the beautiful blue sea.
HOTEL MYSTAYS Hakodate Goryokaku
"Great location and awesome pillow, wifey love it and this was the best pillow in entire trip."
LC Goryokaku Hotel
"Compared to other accommodations in the area, this hotel is relatively affordable. While the building and facilities show some signs of age, it was very clean and comfortable. A particularly positive point was the free use of the washing machine and dryer. Additionally, shared amenities such as a microwave, refrigerator, ice maker, induction cooktop, and electric kettle were available, making it convenient for longer stays. However, there were a few things that bothered me. The toilets in the guest rooms were older, compact types without bidet functions. The shared toilets, though older, did have bidet functions. Also, the lack of cups for hot water, requiring the use of a washbasin cup, was a slight inconvenience."
Hotel Resol Hakodate
You’ll love the vibe here—it’s so close to the Morning Market! Definitely head to the top floor for coffee; the view of the bay is incredible.
Comfort Hotel Hakodate
"Simple breakfast is provided, free coffee is available at the lobby. Good location, recommended."
Wakamatsu Hot Spring Resort
Start your morning with an incredible, unobstructed view of the Tsugaru Strait, where the deep blue ocean stretches all the way to the horizon right outside your window.
Seaside Hotel Kamome
"Take National Highway 278 directly opposite Hakodate Station and walk for about 20 minutes. You can take the bus. The appearance of the hotel is very conspicuous, but the facilities in the rooms are a bit outdated. It is only close to the seaside, not a bathing beach, and there are few people. However, after dark, you can't see anything and can only hear the sound of the waves. There is a convenience store diagonally across the road, and on the right side of the hotel is a pizza shop. It is convenient for eating and drinking, but the room facilities are a bit old and there are few power sockets. It is recommended to bring your own power strip. There is no mineral water in the room because the tap water can be drank directly. The large refrigerator is useful."
Hakodate Uminokaze
"It's very close to the airport and the staff can help arrange taxis. The only pity is that the buffet dinner was changed to a set menu."
Hakodateyama Guest House
"The road from the tram stop at Yajito was quite steep and difficult because of the good scenery."
