Guest UserOverall, it was a fairly standard stay, saved by the brand reputation and great location, but the value for money was low. 2400 a night for a five-star hotel was indeed a bit pricey. I chose it because it's under the Banyan Tree brand, and there's a lot of hype about it on Xiao Hong Shu (Redbook), but the actual stay wasn't great.
The front desk is on the second floor, and check-in was smooth. The staff's English was decent, and they spoke a little Chinese, though there weren't many Chinese guests there anyway.
The room wasn't very big. The mattress firmness and size were reasonable, and the windows were floor-to-ceiling. The downside was that they couldn't be opened, so ventilation relied entirely on the air conditioning. Upon entering, there was a noticeable smell of fresh paint.
Room service ended at 9 PM. The infinity pool is on the 21st floor, which seems to be the hotel's main selling point. Hmm... the good thing is the water quality is excellent, but the water temperature was too high. It would probably be great in winter. The pool isn't very large, and there's also a warm pool next to it. The lounge chairs were packed very tightly, probably mostly for sunbathing, and the flow of traffic felt a bit congested. Usage hours were from 8 AM to 12 PM. According to Korean law, children are not allowed in after 8 PM, which is pretty standard across Korea.
Next, the worst part of the experience: the soundproofing was terrible. I could clearly hear guests walking and talking in the next room. We were woken up in the middle of the night after falling asleep, and it took two calls to the front desk and about 30 minutes for someone to come and speak to them. The room environment and service level truly don't match the brand and price!
I hope they can improve, which is why I've offered these suggestions.

Guest UserThe board walk was closed and I didnot realize at the time of booking so it was quite disappointing.
Other than that the accommodation was good.

We love this hotel’s vibes! The nice smell and homely feel won us over the moment we stepped in. The owner is extremely kind and upgraded our standard twin room to a double queen room on a higher floor which gives us a nice ocean view. Location is great and a 10-min walk to market and 15 min walk to Abai village. Owner’s sincere hospitality and helpful personality is commendable. Highly recommend this hotel!

My wife and I have traveled extensively, but we found a place where we had absolutely no complaints regarding cleanliness, service, price, or parking. I feel 1000% willing to visit again and again, so I decided to leave this review hoping that many people will choose this accommodation for a pleasant stay during their trip to Sokcho. I plan to revisit with other family members in the future.
[Cleanliness] It is the best. There was absolutely no chemical smell typical of accommodations, and the towels were not damp at all. The floor inside the room was not carpeted, so it was clean and pleasant with no embedded dust. I couldn't find any dust accumulation even in the nooks and crannies. The bathroom is also spacious and clean.
[Parking]
There is a parking tower in the building, as well as a dedicated parking lot within a 1-2 minute walk, so we experienced absolutely no inconvenience during our stay.
[Location]
It is within walking distance of Sokcho Central Market, and if you prefer not to walk, taking a bus is also not difficult. [Service and Convenience]
They were incredibly kind and greeted me with a bright smile every time I came and went. Thanks to that smile, every moment we shared was filled with a shared smile, making my trip truly enriching.
On the 3rd floor of the building, I was able to enjoy a simple breakfast of cereal, hard-boiled eggs, and toast, and the cafe latte was delicious. Guests also receive a discount on cafe drinks. Additionally, having a GS25 convenience store right in front of the accommodation was also very convenient.

While clean, the room was much smaller than I anticipated. Check-in took an incredibly long time; I waited for three hours! They claimed to be following check-in numbers sent via KakaoTalk, but this wasn't actually the case. Someone making a lot of complaints was prioritized, and the whole situation was just chaotic.
The room was surprisingly small and looked nothing like the photos. I was assigned to Building A, but the pictures on Trip.com were completely different from the room I received (I suspect they were of Buildings B and C). I initially wondered if the hotel had given me the wrong room, but upon re-examining the photos, the very last one did seem to be of Building A. Honestly, I feel deceived, having chosen the room based solely on those initial, misleading pictures.
The swimming pool also incurs an additional charge of 80,000 KRW per person (I didn't use the pool). There's a bakery area, and its lobby is so close to the pool that everything is visible from there. While waiting for check-in, I had coffee in the lobby, and it felt rather awkward seeing people in their swimsuits so close by.
Breakfast is divided into two time slots, so you must arrive at your allocated time. The coffee service, where staff pour it for you, was also quite inconvenient. Normally, one would get coffee from a self-service machine, but here there's a dedicated 'coffee zone' where you have to place an order with staff. When there's a queue, you end up waiting with your food in hand, which is truly inconvenient. And the coffee wasn't even exceptionally delicious. Despite having three staff members at the coffee zone, the whole process felt incredibly inefficient. The breakfast food itself, however, was tasty.
Oh, and a quick note: Netflix isn't available in the rooms, haha.
I honestly think the Lotte Resort, where I previously stayed, is far superior. Their rooms are much more spacious, the pool is complimentary, and it definitely has a more luxurious vibe. Breakfast at Lotte is also tastier, in my personal opinion (and you *can* watch Netflix there!).
To sum up, Cassia offers breathtaking scenery. The breakfast was varied and delicious! However, I feel they haven't made effective use of the hotel's interior space. It's genuinely vast, and as you wander, you encounter tables, uncomfortable chairs, and very large art books on display, but it all feels a bit forced and out of place. I never felt like sitting down and relaxing on the chairs, which were also uncomfortable. The overall interior design felt somewhat unkempt and disjointed. It's a shame such a large space wasn't utilized more thoughtfully.
Next time, I'll probably opt for Lotte Resort over Cassia.

Hotel with good amenities and at a nice location. We did have an issue in our room in building B, which had too much noise (from the heating system maybe?), and the staff changed our room without hesitation to another one that was great in building D. Very friendly staff.

TravellimsGreat stay! The room was spotless with a comfy bed and a coffee table. Love the friendly staff and daily cleaning. Having a water dispenser on every floor was super convenient, and the rooftop sunrise view is a must-see! The water pressure is strong, too. Just a heads-up: it’s about a 15-minute walk to the intercity bus terminal.

The accommodation for the Sokcho trip with my two sons was clean and the space was separated, which made it even better. It was a hotel with great value for money at a low price because it was a weekday. The breakfast was also simple and good. I definitely plan to use it again on my next trip to Sokcho!^^

Anonymous UserThe hotel located close to the beautiful lake, beach and Main express bus terminal. The Seoraksan National Park (mini) is quite close, you can take a bus from terminal stop and it takes around half and hour to get there.
Room - so spacious, even the bathroom complete with amenities like hair dryer, shower gel, shampoo, soap. I feel like it’s one room studio apartment that comes with fridge, washing machine too! Free water bottles that will be replenished everyday.
Service - the front people were so nice.
Other - GS25 is right next to hotel building (or in the building?) it’s literally ‘convenient’.
I’d consider to choose this hotel again when i visit Sokcho some other time :)

Close to Cheongcho Lake, the view is good.
And there are food and E-Mart Daiso nearby around the hotel,
First of all, it is quiet and good for rest.
The rooms were clean and satisfied.
I met a good value for money accommodation that I would recommend to acquaintances ~~ ^^
I want to use it on my next visit ~~ ^^
