We carefully chose this hotel, prioritizing a beautiful view, cleanliness, and amenities. We ended up picking Hotel Around Sokcho, and we haven't regretted it for a moment.
We spent two wonderful days here and were absolutely thrilled. Check-in was completely contactless, which was incredibly convenient: we registered immediately via phone, and all the necessary information and access were promptly provided. This was a huge plus, making the check-in process as comfortable and modern as possible.
The room itself was simply beautiful—clean, modern, cozy, with a comfortable bed and everything needed for a relaxing stay. When we booked, we specifically requested a room with a nice view, and they truly delivered a room with a stunning view that exceeded all expectations.
Our stay here was one of the most comfortable and enjoyable of our entire trip. The sunsets we watched from the window were simply incredible—we took countless beautiful photos for our social media.
The hotel's location was also a big plus: everything is nearby—shops, cafes, bus stops, and the sea is very close. This made our stay even more convenient and pleasant.
We are so glad we chose this particular hotel. Hotel Around Sokcho left us with the warmest impressions, and we would happily return here again. We recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, style, and an excellent location 🤍

For a one-night stay costing around 600,000 KRW (with check-in at 3 PM and check-out at 11 AM), I arrived 1 hour and 20 minutes before the official check-in time to secure my place in line. Despite this, it was already past 3 PM by the time it was my turn. When I explained the situation to a staff member who appeared to be a manager, I was curtly told that check-in was strictly by order of arrival and nothing could be done. My turn at the front desk finally came about 5 minutes after the official check-in time.
Upon collecting my pre-purchased breakfast coupons, I was informed that only the first and last of the three available time slots remained, forcing me to choose between them. Eventually, I did receive a call that a spot had opened up for the middle breakfast time, and I was able to exchange my coupon. However, the entire system felt very confusing and inefficient.
On a positive note, hotel guests have complimentary access to the facilities. The room and the view, however, were absolutely magnificent.

Hotel with good amenities and at a nice location. We did have an issue in our room in building B, which had too much noise (from the heating system maybe?), and the staff changed our room without hesitation to another one that was great in building D. Very friendly staff.

PoonkasemWGood location at Sokcho beach road. Just 5-10 min walk from Express bus terminal. There is 7-eleven store nearby.
Front desk is on GF at Building B. Quite hard to find as there is no Eng signage
We booked triple room, but found that room was quite small for three people. Not much space for 2-3 large luggages.
Overall stay was very nice. Room was clean and well-equipped. Wifi, Netflix and Youtube were also strong connection

I have stayed here before to hike Seoraksan. This time, I had a nicer room; however, because it is near the mountains and older, there was a huge house centipede on the ceiling when I got there. Luckily, the bug spray they had worked on it. Other than that, there were some small stains on the bedding, but everything else was clean. The bed was comfortable, and the location is about 55 minutes walking distance from Seoraksan National Park. It's only about an 8 minute taxi drive there if not too much traffic. There is a beautiful river/stream nearby. This place is also only about a 16 minute drive from the Sokcho Express Bus Terminal. Obviously, I like this place enough to stay again. Breakfast was toast, cereal, and you could make eggs/a toast sandwich I believe.

I took an Uber from the bus terminal and was dropped off at Building C because I just typed the hotel name — it happened to be the first building we passed, and I didn’t know that it wasn’t the main one. Building C has no reception, so I went up to Level 4 (if I remember correctly) for the kiosk check-in. It was a bit laggy, but I managed to complete the process and was assigned a room in Building A. I’m not sure if all rooms with the Ondol (heated-floor) type are in that building.
I had to walk to Building A with my two suitcases, which took around 5-7 minutes — not too bad, but it felt a bit of a hassle after a long trip. The location, however, was really good. If you love catching the sunrise, you can simply wake up early and walk for about 2 minutes to the beach.
I also booked an Uber ride to Seoraksan National Park for a 5 a.m. hike, which cost ₩17,500. The room was quite spacious, especially for a solo traveler. The only downside was that there’s no bidet or smart toilet. You might also want to bring your own large towel, as they only provide small ones, and no toothbrush kits — although there’s a vending machine on the first floor for toiletries and slippers if you need extras.
The heating floor worked perfectly, and the room was very clean. It’s well-equipped with cooking and dining utensils, a built-in electric stove, a washing machine, and a large fridge — ideal for longer stays. There are also plenty of convenience stores, coffee shops, and restaurants on the first floor, and several attractions are within walking distance.
Overall, it’s a great place to stay — comfortable, clean, and convenient for both short and long visits in Sokcho.

We stayed 2 nights, and the owners were really kind and friendly and invited us to sing and play Korean songs along with them and other families in the stage they have in the basement. It was one of the most memorable experiences of my whole trip in South Korea.
The room and water were warm and well suited for the winter. They upgraded our room for free and there was so much space with sink, fridge, sofa and table included. The breakfast every morning is delicious and filling, preparing you well for a day of walking in the mountains. 설악산 was beautiful coated in the white snow. The location of the hotel is great too, as there is a frequent bus that takes you to the park in no time, as well as to the city when you first come or when you leave the last day.
I hope I can come back again to visit the park during different seasons, and I will definitely would like to stay in this hotel again.
Thank you for everything.
Gracias, 감사합니다 😄

No tea bags or coffee sachets provided, which is a bit weird. Water pressure for shower is way too weak. No room cleaning services, leaving alone having your new towels put outside your room in the morning. Only 4 lifts serving way too many hotel stayers, resulting in long waiting lines and thus, time. Views are magnificient however. The room is so massive and the balconies are spacious.

Would 100% recommend. The hotel is located close to the bus terminal (2-minute walk) so it is easy to reach from Seoul. Sokcho beach is within walking distance of the hotel, and there are also plenty of good restaurants nearby.
The room definitely lived up to our expectations. Check-in and check-out are done through a machine, but it’s very easy to use. The rooms are equipped with everything we needed and the view of the mountains are definitely a plus.
We loved our stay here and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Sokcho.

The Accommodations
The rooms themselves were perfectly fine. They were clean, the bed was comfortable enough for a decent night's sleep, and the amenities were exactly what you’d expect for the price point. If I were rating based on the physical space alone, this would be a solid, middle-of-the-road experience.
The Service
However, the customer service was nonexistent. From the moment I checked in, it felt like I was an inconvenience to the staff. The front desk was cold and unresponsive, and trying to get assistance with a simple request felt like pulling teeth.
There was a total lack of energy or ”hospitality” in the hospitality—no smiles, no proactive help, and a general vibe of indifference that really soured the stay. It’s a shame, because a little bit of effort from the team could have easily turned this into a positive review.
