From the outside the hotel looks very beautiful, but from the inside everything is more modest. Standard rooms are not too spacious - for five stars it seems a little cramped. Breakfast is quite up to the standard of the hotel. Varied and you can order porridge, for example.

This hotel is super nice and a very chic place to stay. Fun to have a drink in the lobby and to have breakfast inside the restaurant. The rooms are very spacious they have like three separate rooms and they have a beautiful balcony overlooking the property. Staff was flawless hotel was very upscale. The only problem I have with this hotel is that the pool is very very small and I like to luxury ate and of huge swimming pool when I am on vacation and the pool here very small maybe only suitable for children or for someone who doesn't like to swim laps. I never took a dip in the pool and I changed hotels because I wanted a spa / swimming pool hot tub amenity for my vacation. If you were not into pools then this is the perfect place to stay. I got this room for $100 a night and that is truly a steal.

Need to pay to use the swimming pool, a bit odd. And the hotel gym is not the same building, it has to go to another place, and you have to go to the front desk to get the card. so troublesome. The hotel's pool restaurant is unpalatable.

Excellent customer service, especially from Marcel the bells captain and Monica, the bar manager. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, bottled water and lovely small touches of bath salts and chocolates, and the gym/pool quite remarkable.

I stayed for five nights while attending a conference in Bucharest. My room, and the hotel in general, was extremely comfortable and clean, and well-maintained. The location, a few steps off Calea Victoriei, could not be improved upon — central and close to just about everything. The photos accurately represent the room I had (except that fortunately my room didn't not have the tied-back curtain that frames the headboard in the photo here). My room overlooked a large courtyard covered with a glass roof . The downside was that I had to check the internet to learn whether it was raining or not, but the positive side was the fact that the room was extremely quiet. And sunlight does penetrate the courtyard and room. It was far from dark. And the curtains did a much better job of blacking out the room at night than I am used to in hotels. The only problems: a finicky shower in which the tiniest adjustments could take the water temperature from cold to dangerously hot, and whose handset sprayed in more directions than it should. On the other hand, the water pressure was, if anything, excessive -- unusual in hotels. Also, breakfast was not great. The coffee that comes out of their machine was not particular high in caffeine, and honestly some of the baked goods were stale. This could easily be improved. Variety was ok. But overall, I was very comfortable in the Capşa hotel, and would happily return. The staff was helpful and friendly throughout my stay as well.

Grand Hotel Continental is a great hotel in Bucharest. Rooms/beds were extremely comfortable; the restaurant/breakfast was very good; in house spa was great (Thai massage was incredibly refreshing); convenient location (easy walk to Old Town); and superb service (special shout out to Mihai at the front desk). Beautiful inside and outside. Thanks again so much for the great stay.

The service attitude is very good. They help me print the itinerary and send it by express. It is very friendly. It is very convenient to eat nearby and can be reached on foot. It is worth recommending.

A hotel that charges 5* price per night DOES NOT HAVE WORKING AIR CONDITIONING. According to the hotel management there are 2 AC systems , one for the hotel reception/ lobby ( that happened to work) and another AC system for the rooms. When brought up the issue with the hotel staff, the reply was : “ The heatwave has taken us by surprise , the AC system for the rooms is not functioning , but our engineers are working on it . You can move out , find another hotel to stay .” The day I arrived the air conditioning was not working , 4 days later when I left it was still not functioning. Bucharest is a hot city in the summer, it is the norm to have temperatures well above 34/35 degrees from beginning of June till September. How were they taken by surprise it’s anyone guess ?! Do not choose this hotel for your stay , there are indeed many beautiful, outstanding hotels nearby. Staying in a hotel room with a temperature of 25/26 degrees ( there was a control panel that showed that ) with no escape , unless you moved out as suggested by the management or taken your bed and slept in the lobby , was intolerable. A hotel from the Comunist era, which is in great need of updating , before they call themselves a 5 STAR HOTEL and charge the prices that go with a 5 star hotel. I would avoid it in the winter months too, just in case the cold and wintery showers takes them by surprise , and the heating system packs up.

I cannot even explain how amazing this hotel was. From the moment we arrived, the staff were wonderful to us. The hotel throughout is beautifully decorated, with a very grand feel. We stayed in the romantic suite, and it was overwhelmingly amazing! The bed was unbelievably comfortable, the furniture in the suite was all unique and of very high quality. We loved the spiral staircase and seating area, with a stunning view of the city. The little details in the room were exceptional - wonderful toiletries, delicious coffee from the machine, and a lovely minibar. Breakfast was incredible. There is a menu to order from, as well as a buffet. Having prosecco with breakfast was a real treat! The service was exceptional and staff took the greatest care of us throughout our stay. The location of the hotel is in a lovely area and there are nice restaurants nearby too. I would highly recommend this hotel and would absolutely love to stay again!
