Kempinski Hotel Chengdu Reviews

I almost always stay at Kempinski when I'm in Chengdu. The facilities are still quite new compared to other hotels, and the location is convenient for getting around. Plus, there's free parking. The spicy biscuits they give out when you check in are genuinely delicious.

Facilities: Recently renovated, all the facilities are quite new. Cleanliness: Very clean. Environment: The overall environment is good, and the location is also excellent. Service: Everyone was very enthusiastic; the front desk staff and the cleaning lady were both great, and the doorman was also very welcoming.

This is an old-established five-star hotel, very close to Shuangliu Airport, and also conveniently located for city center attractions, all reachable by a taxi ride costing around ten yuan. The lobby looks a bit old, but the rooms are very new and spacious. The service is also excellent; someone proactively helped with my luggage when I got out of the car, and they even thoughtfully prepared a mouse pad when they noticed I didn't have one.

The location is great, very close to Tongzilin subway station. Line 1 goes directly to Wenshu Monastery and Chengdu South Station, which is super convenient. The hotel has a constant-temperature swimming pool and a warm-water soaking pool. I went twice and had them almost to myself, which was fantastic for a family of three who love to swim. The room isn't huge, but it's clean and sufficient, and the TV supports screen mirroring, which is very handy. There are two minor points that aren't exactly flaws: 1. The hallway scent in the hotel is a bit too strong. 2. Even with the AC/heater off, the duvet was still too warm; taking it off made it cold, which was a bit awkward.

The room was clean and tidy, but the facilities were a bit old, and there weren't many power outlets. It was inconvenient that there were no outlets in the bathroom, especially for drying hair. The breakfast was thoughtfully prepared but had limited options. All the staff members had a great service attitude.

It's not a huge place overall, but it left a great impression. The service was very thoughtful and welcoming. The room was decent, well-equipped, neat, and clean. I was very satisfied with my stay and would choose this place again next time I'm in Chengdu~

The room's hardware is well-maintained, but more attention to detail is needed. For instance, this time the shower gel/shampoo dispenser wasn't working, clearly due to a broken pump. The front desk service was fast and efficient, and the hotel offers good value for money, outperforming many five-star hotels. Plus, it's only a 15-minute drive from Shuangliu Airport. Overall, it's a good place, recommended.

Excellent! I almost always choose the Kempinski whenever I'm on a business trip to Chengdu. It's been over twenty years, and it's consistently good. While the bustling atmosphere of the second floor isn't quite what it used to be, it still easily ranks among the top-tier hotels. The newly renovated rooms are fantastic.

The location is very convenient, just 400 meters from Metro Line 1. The hotel is a bit old but has been renovated, and the rooms are decent. Breakfast is also good with a wide variety, including carrot juice. The hairdryer was a bit weak, but the service was excellent. We were upgraded to a deluxe king room, which offered fantastic value for money – much cheaper than the price I paid for the Keixing Building Intercity the day before, with better facilities and service all around.

The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable. It wasn't very big, and unlike a five-star hotel, it lacked a bathtub, but I didn't really mind. The breakfast was excellent, I loved it, especially the freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices at the entrance every day – absolutely fantastic.

The room itself was decent, and the breakfast selection was quite good. The air conditioning/heating in the room worked perfectly. However, the hotel lobby looks quite dated and could really use a renovation; it doesn't feel like a 5-star hotel at all. Also, there's no delivery robot service, so I had to go downstairs multiple times to pick up my food delivery, which was a bit inconvenient.

Location's the only hiccup, but hey, can't have it all if you want an awesome hotel. Otherwise, perfect score! 🌟 My kids love love the pool. Heated pool. It’s compulsory to bring your swimming attire even on winter days 😜

Environment: The surrounding transportation is convenient, not far from Chengdu's scenic spots and attractions. Hygiene: The bedding and amenities showcase the quality of a well-established hotel; they are clean, hygienic, and perfectly arranged. Service: The doormen, front desk, executive lounge, breakfast restaurant, and Chinese restaurant staff are all courteous and enthusiastic, readily answering any questions. Special thanks to Trip.com for the 4-day, 3-night package – it was excellent value for money. A huge shout-out to Kempinski's homemade beer – it's really mellow and delicious!

I've stayed here once in the summer and once in the winter, so here's my honest review. **Pros:** The room is quite spacious and very clean, with all the amenities you'd expect in a suite. The executive lounge has great food and a fantastic view. The old gentleman at the entrance is super welcoming, which made for a great first impression. The pool is clean and uncrowded, and the heated pool is a real treat in winter! I called a day in advance to ask about smoking or non-smoking floors, which was a nice touch. Room service can be hit or miss, but this time, when I called for items, they were delivered promptly. The hot food even came plated with bowls and chopsticks. The first time I visited for a birthday, my friends helped with the elevator, which was very friendly. However, when I went down later to pick up a stored cake, I gave them the room number and they'd even logged my details, but they claimed not to have it. I'm not sure what happened with the handover there. **Cons:** On both stays, I didn't receive the small fan souvenir, which I only realized later was a gift. Both times I had luggage, but it was only brought to the front desk, not to my room. This is quite baffling. The toilet is a heated smart toilet, but it can't flush automatically, which is a bit silly. The bedding is quite mediocre, and the pillows are practically unusable. The service at the executive lounge needs improvement. At Jinjiang Hotel's restaurants, they usually escort you to the elevator and even press the button for you. But at the executive lounge, aside from asking what you'd like to drink and making a coffee when you enter, there's no service to speak of. Overall, I think the hardware facilities are quite good and it offers great value for money, but the service needs to be improved.
