This was not a good experience. The first room they put us was not what we paid for. Staff at the front desk claimed it was an upgrade, but the room that we had paid for was more expensive on the website and listed as 'Superior' and the room they put us was the standard double, so I don't understand how that could be the case. The room also stank of stale cigarettes. They moved us to a second room and as we walked into it, a handy-man walked out in wet overalls and we saw that the bathroom had a leak and there was water and tools all over the floor. We asked to be moved again. The third room was very nice in what they described as the recently refurbished section of the hotel. Which begs the question, why on earth did they not put us in that room to start with? The hotel was only running at about 10-20% capacity, so who were the saving the recently refurbished rooms for?!
The views are nice here, and the breakfast was good, but half of the facilities were closed, people would smoke in the lifts or in the hallways - right next to no smoking signs - and staff would not ask them to stop. The whole place felt tired. I would not go back, and I do not recommend.
