This hotel was a little gem of a find on an unexpected road trip from southern to northern Spain (due to UK Air Traffic Control issues). Online reviews looked good and the location was perfect in respect of the area around which we planned to make our first overnight stop. On arrival we were greeted by two very friendly and welcoming reception staff, one of whom showed us two rooms which were available to accommodate our family of four. The hotel is beautiful, blending the old building with modern twists and furnishings. The sizeable outdoor pool set in its own garden was the perfect way to cool off after a very long drive. The inner courtyard is stunning and made for a perfect setting for our pre-dinner drinks. We dined in the very atmospheric and beautifully appointed restaurant where many main dishes are cooked on coals at the side of the main seating area. The smell of the charcoal and cooking was fantastic and the food was superb and very tasty. A very good wine list gave us a great choice. Having just driven through the wine region of La Mancha, it was an easy decision to opt for a very nice bottle of Finca Antigua Reserva (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah blend) which accompanied our meat beautifully. The service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The rooms were perfectly adequate and air-conditioned. The hotel is quiet and tranquil yet has a wonderful understated buzz about it. Breakfast the following morning was offered for a small additional cost and was adequate if a little limited but it was perfect to get us ready for another long day ahead. The town of Cuenca itself is gorgeous so this hotel is perfect for anyone transiting the area or perhaps visiting Cuenca itself. We would not hesitate to return.
The NH Ciudad de Cuenca hotel is set within a quiet residential area of San Fernando, just opposite a lovely green park. Within 15 minutes on foot you can reach the commercial center and the old part of the city, which is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk a little further and you will reach the Auditorio de Cuenca conference center and the old town’s Puente de San Pablo. The Fernando Zóbel train station is 8km away. NH Ciudad de Cuenca has 74 modern rooms finished with warm and comfortable décor. You may choose to stay in one of our connecting rooms which are perfect for families and large groups. Accessible rooms are also available. A delicious breakfast is served every morning and includes a large spread of fresh foods and beverages. The hotel restaurant is a cozy space filled with natural light where you can order one of our Mediterranean dishes made with fresh seasonal products. There is also a relaxing bar if you prefer to unwind with a drink. For a workout, head to our gym. If you are in Cuenca for business, we have six meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 400 people.

The hotel is very well located, close to the city centre and the best thing is that there are parks in the street where it is without having to pay for it. Excellent
ZZIQIANAdvantages: The beautiful castle hotels and prardo hotels are all good places, just across the scenic spot. Disadvantages: The price of this hotel is relatively cheap, but the supporting facilities are less, such as water must be purchased and parking spaces are insufficient.
One more thing, restaurants in Cuenca are generally closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but you can eat in the hotel!

On arrival, reception was unfriendly and unhelpful, telling us we did not have a reserved parking space even though we had booked it with them. On showing email proof they said that was the old system. We now had to take a chance on finding one. Also, no information was given about hotel facilities. We had to ask. The bar and restaurant staff were very off-hand. Reception staff, who were different every time we passed by, didn’t speak. On leaving, I was presented with an amount on a credit card machine and had to ask for a breakdown of the bill. They did not ask if we had enjoyed our stay. After leaving, we realised we had left something in the room safe. Due to language issues we asked reception at our next hotel to phone and ask if they had been found. The response was that nothing had been found in the room or safe. I’m afraid we suspect they didn’t even bother to check the room or safe.

BBendilaohuThe hotel is in the center of Cuenca, and the city garden is at the door. Walk to the old city cathedral and the hanging house for about 1 km. The old town prohibits non-registered resident vehicles, and will automatically shoot fines. There are many paid parking spaces on the roadside around, and free parking is available from 8 pm to 9 am. The front desk service was warm and the room was large and comfortable. The restaurant is also open to the outside world, very good.

We loved our stay here! We chose a premium room with views. We could see across The Valley from our room and over to the Parador hotel. The room itself was well appointed and comfortable- with radiators (essential for cold December) and aircon. The bathroom was spacious and had a really nice jacuzzi bath as well as a shower. We were in room 1. I suspect if you could choose the room 2 would be the best one as it seemed to have multiple windows. I would highly recommend the breakfast. Lots of choice (pasties, bacon, eggs, cheese, ham, wide selection of fruit) and great coffee. The bar was nice too, we had a snack there but did not try and downstairs restaurant. Downstairs is also where the spa is located. We booked a hour slot at reception and enjoyed the facilities to ourselves. The hot hub was really nice and there are saunas there too and well as some basic gym equipment. The staff are fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. Parking was over the road in a public carpark where hotel residents get a small discount. It is well located for exploring the old town. Highly recommended!
