Nansha Desert 23 Degrees Sand Homestay

"Here's a detailed review of this guesthouse. If you're debating whether to book, this might help you decide. This guesthouse is located within a scenic area (a rather secluded one) right next to a desert. The guesthouse is divided into several private courtyards (as shown in pictures), each enclosed by a wall. We stayed in Courtyard No. 3, which exclusively offers family rooms (one double bed, one single bed). Room types vary across the different courtyards. These courtyards are quite spread out; Courtyard No. 3 is several hundred meters from the others. There's even a tent camp located much further away, requiring about a 5-minute drive to reach (the entire scenic area is enormous). The courtyards clearly show signs of careful design, but unfortunately, they haven't been well-maintained. The weeds in the yard were overgrown, and there were no service staff present. Due to its extremely remote, almost wilderness-like location, the lack of staff made us feel quite unsafe. Cleanliness: The room in Courtyard No. 3 was generally acceptable; there weren't any overtly dirty areas. However, a lack of meticulous upkeep meant there were some worn or damaged corners. Pros: The bedding in Courtyard No. 3 appeared basic and not particularly pristine, but it was surprisingly comfortable to sleep on, with a mattress that wasn't hard. The major upside is the private access to the desert right on your doorstep, allowing you to avoid the crowds and queues of the main scenic area, which is a huge plus, especially when traveling with children. We arrived quite late at night, treating it as a quick overnight stop. The next morning, after breakfast, the kids were able to happily play in the sand. Regarding breakfast: Considering its desert location, the breakfast offered was quite simple, but it was enough to be filling. If you're concerned about the food options, I'd advise bringing some of your own provisions. While the accommodation certainly has its drawbacks, if your main goal is to immerse yourself in the desert experience, I would still highly recommend staying here."
