Well, the valet & front desk staff were cordial, the room was quite small with a weird sliding window between the sink & the bed, the special big ice they encourage you to order doesn't fit in any of the glasses provided in the room...the room service was hit & miss...the workout area was absolutely AMAZING though...world class... The lobby bar is quite crafty/cold in winter...almost everyone had their coats on...the bartender was excellent! All in all not good value for your dollar...

The location is pretty good. I stayed for two nights, but there were a lot of homeless people downstairs. It was difficult to go out when it got dark, so I had to eat at the restaurant on the fifth floor. There is a free parking lot at the door, which is more convenient. It is closer to the river on foot during the day, which is convenient for travel. , many hotels nearby

We stayed at the Matrix in August when we travelled to Edmonton to bring our daughter back for University. The location is a great central point for us to go to the University of Alberta campus. The added bonus was the breakfast in the morning. Lots of choices of breakfast options and a seating area. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

We stayed here after being bumped from Travelodge Edmonton Airport last-minute due to overbooking. We were very fortunate to find a room, as most hotels were sold-out due to Garth Brooks being in town and since we were attending a wedding we were worried we would have to back-out of it due to this. Luckily that was not the case! The hotel was older but exceptionally clean! The pool and breakfast room were closed due to renovations but we did not care because we would not have used these amenities anyway (we were on a tight schedule). Service was great! Super friendly and professional. We dealt with Mary Jasnoor at check-in and again check-out. She was super sweet and helped us forget the terrible experience we had earlier in the day (see my other review for Travelodge Edmonton Airport) Thank you for a very good stay!

The hotel room IS a little dated, but our room was clean and comfortable. The AC system worked perfectly, the bed was a dream. On site covered parking was helpful. Cora's breakfast restaurant is attached to the hotel which is another winner for me. If you don't need fancy, this is the place to stay. Rob at the Front Desk was delightful - friendly, funny and helpful! I would book a stay here again

I was delighted beyond belief with everything that Tru Hilton had to offer! It is unlike any hotel experience that I have ever had! Incredible decor, magnificent bed with the softest sheets, gigantic TV, gorgeous bathroom with novel soap & shampoo dispensers, lovely breakfast, attentive staff & spacious quiet rooms. Not cost prohibitive as one might expect from the Hilton Brand. The only odd thing was that they will charge money if towels, bedding or the mattress is stained or damaged! This is above & beyond the damage deposit! Otherwise, I will gladly stay here again & recommend it to anyone else staying a little outside of downtown Edmonton!

Booked via hotels.com for 79$C a night for 2 nights. Hotel located off 99th st., in a rather industrial part of South Edmonton. Checked in around 9pm, so room was ready..Lobby was rather tired and not very classy. Got a 2 double bed room on second floor. Room was renovated partially as bathroom was modern, but carpet felt old and linen seemed second hand (some from Holiday Inn). Room was clean but needed a good deep cleaning. TV had good selection of channels and was Roku stick friendly. There is a gym on the ground floor was a bit on the old side. The breakfast was included but consisted of cold items, like cereals, muffins, bread, yogurts, no fruits. Plenty of parking on site and at least 4 restaurants in the mall (Indian, middle Eastern, pizza, and an excellent sushi place) as well as the many breweries off of the Happy Beer st.

I moved here are going to another hotel which was awful so went back to reliable Marriott. Checked in about 30 minutes after booking - room was lovely and clean but everything was ready. Rooms are not big I had a city view which is basically of the car park but there was a bed, comfortable chair and desk. Housekeeping came daily. The downside to the room is the hairdryer kept flipping the breaker - I left a note to report it buck the note was ignored which also asked for conditioner in the room (those big sharable ones in the shower) which was also not refilled. We arrived in the weetesdt June on record - the hotel was cold and although I was able to warm the room up the restaurant was blowing cold air throughout the stay so you had to sit with a hoodie on. The hotel is being renovated the 2 lifts were being painted and out of commission during my stay - not an issue as we were all able to sue the service elevator but there is only one so sometimes there was a line. Also the outdoor patio dining area overlooking the river is being renovated and we were told it would not be available all summer. The hote restaurant staff were lovely and friendly - the menu is a bit eclectic - you know on a rainy nite when you just want soup and a sandwich - well not available - they dont offer this - one of the pizzas came with blue cheese so I asked to switch for regular cheese - you cannot do that as they come in ready made. The menu is Indian food centric - lots of indian flavors (such as the poutine - how I wanted to try regular poutine but again not available) there is spice and curry flavor an a host of Lentil dishes on the menu and a lot of bok choi etc but very few of what I would call traditional flavours - for example as well as a soup on a cold rainy night a fish and chips might have been nice or a pot pie. The walk into downtown is nice - the view on the river is nice however we were warned about walking in downtown Edmonton as since covid there has been some changes - there are a lot of street people - pot is smoked everywhere and for a girl travelling i was told not to walk outside alone if I could help it. There are limited dining options without walking other than the hotel restaurant - in fact most nights there were several tables of lone female travellers in the restaurant

This place was clearly a dump, 80% of the lights were not working including the one in the washroom so I had minimum visibility to take my shower. The shower was completely outdated, the outlet was deficient, leaking everywhere which made shower time very annoying. The furnitures are old , disorganized, I even saw the extension cord outlet having sparks. The insulation was poor, hearing people having sex like if they had been just in the same room, and when they were done I had the great surprise to heat either mice or rats running around inside the ceiling all night long. The check out was poorly, bad customer service, not even a thank you or anything regarding to my night spent in this dump that I will never recommend to anyone. And I don’t even wanna think of how are washed the bed sheets

We had 3 rooms booked for one night. The price was right, and the view to the river valley was lovely. Unfortunately, to get that view, one must stay in a room directly opposite the elevator, which is fine for some, but can be noisy. The beds seemed comfortable, but the bathrooms were grungy and out-dated, and the faucet handles on my sink turned the opposite way from what is typical here. There really should be free parking for guests, especially in this rougher part of town. And please put some barrier under the door, as the light from the hallway is really bright at night, and if there were a fire, the huge gap would permit a lot of smoke into the room.

It was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Our satay was 3 nights and the weather was unseasonably cold and rainy so we did not notice till last day and night the AC was not doing its job. We did mention several times we needed a plug for the bath but had no resolution except to change rooms and for the last night and due to our schedule it was not convenient. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. It is when you step outside the front door it is a bit of a shock with so many homeless. They did not bother us but scary. We got cabs everywhere. You can walk if you feel brave enough to the RAM and a great Farmers Market. Ice district across the road.

We needed a pet friendly hotel and found this hotel. I am so glad that we found this place. I am a big supporter of the Choice Hotel group. The price was in our budget. We were given a ground floor room which was perfect! The room was nice and clean and our dog loved it there. We were able to park right in front of the patio doors to our room. The front desk staff were very friendly and very helpful. Right next door to the hotel is a great restaurant...Taste of Persia. They have a great breakfast menu. We will definiety stay there, whenever we are in Edmonton!

This hotel is looks nice in the lobby, and is clean throughout. Unfortunately we were placed on a side of the hotel which nears construction near by the busy Yellowhead Trail. At night you can hear every semi truck drive by and every emergency vehicle with sirens go by as if you are outside. Windows must be very old and thin. I would highly recommend bring your own earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Beds are creaky and noisy everytime you move as well as heater that turns on every 15-20 minutes which is very loud and annoying. Bathrooms could use an upgrade as their age shows as well as furnishings in the rooms. Doesn’t quite match the title of hotel. Wouldn’t stay here in the future, wasn’t a first good experience.

Booked this hotel..for 4 nights.. still here it’s night 2, but seriously going to be looking at other options in the morning for a better stay. I am paying 440$ a night for something that I thought was executive high end.. very disappointed. Plus side, the room is really great, beds and pillows are comfy and it is very clean. Here’s the thing, 440$ a night ? For what? Generally hotels that are in this price range come with: a concierge, a door man or two, room service, a mini bar, room service, turn down service, basic housekeeping service ,a room directory etc.. this hotel comes with no amenities which is just fine but at least lower your rates and don’t tout yourselves to be something you’re not. When I questioned front desk staff it was all blamed on Covid. Cop out at best and I feel sorry for your staff. I work in this industry and am appalled. Quit blaming the pandemic for your shortcomings. Great if you want to cheap out but at least lower your rates and call a spade a spade.

There was a restaurant on sight, loved how the hotel was pet friendly even though I didn’t bring a pet, also there was a pool looked really nice didn’t swim and the beds were ever so comfortable. It has been a few years since I last stayed at this hotel. I was greeted at reception by Chris who was very friendly and efficient. Chris is a great ambassador for the hotel and makes you feel welcome. He thanked me for choosing the hotel and being a Titanium Bonvoy member. I did receive the expected amenities for my stay. Parking is very easy with the West parkade adjoining the hotel. I chose this hotel due to a meeting close by and then a second night being close to enjoy an Oilers game at Rogers Place. I enjoyed breakfast at District 102 Restaurant which is part of the hotel on 3rd floor (separate review). I was upgraded to a very nice suite which overlooks the City Centre Mall. Beds are very comfortable, work area is very good and chairs are very welcoming. Room and bathroom were very clean. Housekeeping staff are also very friendly and greeted me in the mornings (stayed two nights). This hotel is ideal for venues in the downtown area. Access is easy and a very welcoming and inviting staff. I look forward to returning soon.

The A/C wasn't working do they had to bring in a portable A/C which did the job but the water tank filled needed emptying in the middle of the night and the unit took up alot of space. Had a group of young teenagers looking in to the windows but security was called quickly, just an average cold breakfast in a box but atleast it was something as the kitchen for normal breakfasts was being renovated from what I understand overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

The rooms are outdated, the sanitation is average, the service attitude is not good, there is no feeling of a star hotel at all! You can't get good floors and rooms when you book on Ctrip! Strongly not recommended. No airport shuttle! It’s almost 48 kilometers to the airport, and it takes about 300 to take a taxi?

There was a restaurant on sight, loved how the hotel was pet friendly even though I didn’t bring a pet, also there was a pool looked really nice didn’t swim and the beds were ever so comfortable. It was difficult to go out when it got dark, so I had to eat at the restaurant on the fifth floor. There is a free parking lot at the door, which is more convenient.
