Loop on Leith George Town Penang Hotel

Conveniently located in Penang's Georgetown, the accommodation offers a variety of breakfast options and friendly, English-speaking staff. However, some guests find the accommodation's offerings limited.

This hotel located in center of Gorgetown which is very convenient but tourists area. 1. The floor sign wasn’t align with the lift. For example, room 200-299 is at level 2 but you need to press level 3 in the lift in order to reach your room at level 2. 2. We have been given to stay at room 2XX, however on the first night we noticed there is water leakage under the basin on the wall. Hence we seek for a change of room, the staff were friendly enough to assist on this. After packing all our stuff and check-out the room, we went out whole day and only reached the hotel around 10.30pm. So we were excited about the new room. Unfortunately, the 2nd room were terrible! Smaller room, aging sofas, flooring, and walls. We then immediately ask for another room, the night shift staff were there to help and he bring us to a few rooms that is available on that night but all were actually terrible 🥺. Due to it’s late night and most of the hotel has been closed for walk-ins, so we decided to stay for another 2nights in the 1st room despite the leakage. Reason because reservation thru Trip.com will need us to send a report in order to ask for refunds. We didn’t want to hassle, so we choose to close one eye. 3. Their rooms sound proof is kinda weak, you can easily hear people using the hairdryer when you’re at the corridor. 4. The parking, OMG. Yes, there is a private hotel parking but it’s VERY limited. They only have around 13-15 spots (basement) and it get full very soon. If you choose to stay here, better come back as early as 5 or 6pm to get yourself a parking or else, park outside the hotel (roadside paid parking) - kinda hard to get because there’s foodcourt and restaurants near the hotel, we round 10mins to get a damn parking for ourselves. So, you imagine yourself 🙂. Oh-ya, there’s a paid parking around, but it’s RM20-40 per night 🙃. 5. The hotel breakfast is average, but choice is limited.

I would say that the hotel location is quite good but in terms of cleanliness as shown in pictures you can see a lot of dust still despite we have asked to clean the room after second night that we were staying there. (Is that ***** on the curtain?) I don't think they clean properly. Can see bugs and mosquitoes flying in the room as well. Do not understand why the rating will be good in trip.com. The front desk stuff does not seem friendly to me. Even the iron and ironing board they will not send to rooms you will have to take it by yourself outside the lift area. If other guests just left it outside the door then you will see it lying at the hallway only.. the building should be new but the interior and overall room make me feel like they are old?
