Gyeongju Hotels with Breakfast

This time I stayed in a premium twin room. The area around the bed, floor, toilet, and washroom was very clean and comfortable. The room had a view of abundant nature, especially Gyeongju World to the left, but the noise of the attractions was not bothersome. I also used the buffet, and the taste and variety had improved since my previous stay, and it was very delicious. The chefs and hall staff were especially kind, polite, and comfortable. However, I was concerned about the customer service attitude of the reception and concierge. Even when we made eye contact, they didn't greet me, and I often had to greet them myself. There were no smiles, and even when I asked something, I didn't feel any politeness. It is the first place you visit when you enter the hotel, and it directly relates to the brand image, so I would like them to be more polite in their customer service.

The staff was friendly and let us in before check-in time. The room was very clean and well equipped. Good bed and great shower.

The cleaning is not that good. Dust balls are rolling around on the bed shelf, and they are still there for 3 days from the time you check in until the time you check out. There is a swimming pool, so I do not recommend going there to rest since the kids run around a lot. I wonder who came up with the hotel structure design. If you want to go for a walk on the lake, you have to get off the elevator on the 1st floor and go down the stairs one floor, or go across to the restaurant on the B1 floor (it is blocked, so it is practically impossible), or go around the building on the 1st floor. The structure makes it difficult for the elderly, those using strollers or wheelchairs, or those with impaired legs to even walk on the lake. The fitness center on the B2 floor has a lot of good equipment, but it is only accessible by stairs, so it is difficult for the elderly to go up and down the stairs. To be honest, the fitness center is very good compared to other hotels. They even have a trainer. Of course, you have to pay a fee for the session. If you lose your card key, it is 5,000 won.

We had a very nice stay at Ran Hanok. Upon arrival we were welcomed and introduced to the building and our room. The Hanok is nicely located close to various historic sites which can be easily reached by walking or cycling along the riverbanks. Breakfast was a bit few (for a european) but was kindly served. The Hanok room has not much of equipment inside which is ok and part of the concept of traditional living. However, the floor heating was a completely new experience. Futon mattresses are kinda thin though and you might experience some back/hip pain.

I went to Busan and had some vacation time left, so I suddenly went to Gyeongju. But I won't go to Busan anymore... This place is so so so nice.. I fell in love with Gyeongju and the accommodation. First of all, when I went to the front desk, I was impressed by the free upgrade to the ocean view when I signed up for Best Western membership, and the view was also great. If you apply for breakfast in advance, it's 18,000 won per person. It's just a breakfast buffet. It's delicious. The downside is that the air conditioner blows directly onto the bed.. I think there was a wind visor, but why did it disappear? + There's no internet TV. Other than that, it was a really nice accommodation, and if you want to drink or something, there's a pojangmacha street called Shilla's Moonlight Street, which is about a 10-minute walk away. It's close to Bomun Lake, so it's great for a walk. The hotel was good for relaxing rather than sightseeing around the area. Breakfast is provided and it is good value for money. Gyori Gimbap, famous in Gyeongju, is just around the corner. Arden Cafe is also right in front of the back gate. The Wuyang Art Museum was also close by, so I stopped by the garden.

The location is good if you go to Bomun Complex. I think a car is essential when traveling to Gyeongju. You can cook easily and there is a BBQ in the basement. You need to bring all kinds of supplies, such as a toothbrush. There were 3 people staying for 2 nights, but there were only four towels at first, and they didn't provide them unless I ordered more. That was a bit uncomfortable.

Real positives with this business hotel, notably the spacious rooms with fantastic shower and sunken bath. However, the lack of aircon needs to be addressed, as having to leave windows open on the second floor is not great for sound proofing and also poor security. Breakfast was a very disappointing experience, which I believe management can address quickly. Service is professional and courteous. The whole place needs a refurbishment, but it’s comfortable nonetheless.

The location is good, convenient for traveling, and the breakfast is okay. It's not rich but it's filling and delicious. It's also very convenient to eat and drink nearby. You can go to the museum and Yuejing Bridge together. Not far away. I feel that Gyeongju is a clean and historical place. Maybe it’s because it’s not in the peak tourist season.

The hostel owner is a nice kind lady, very helpful and has a cute fluffy dog! Living room is conducive to meet new people :) Room is clean just like all Korean hostels, though a little cold during winter but there is a bedwarmer. Location is next to a police station so it must be quite safe though it's in an alley. Many shops and eateries nearby, including a convenient bus stop that connects you to all the gyeongju touristic sites that are further away. Hostel is also only a short stroll to the famous tombs and 15mins walk to the intercity bus station which has direct buses to Busan airport.
