This hotel is a relatively large garden hotel in the city, and the facilities are pretty good. Online reviews are mixed, some good, some not so good. Since we were having a family gathering in Suzhou for Chinese New Year, we decided to stay here. The room facilities were decent, and we had a view of the swimming pool from our window. The hotel was fully booked for the holiday, so parking in the garage was very tight. The decor might be a bit old-fashioned; the ventilation fan and light in the bathroom shared a single switch. It was quite cold taking a shower in winter as the fan couldn't be turned off, and it was right above my head. The hotel's environment is lovely, with many picturesque spots for photos. The breakfast area, lobby, and coffee shop particularly left a strong impression. However, the Chinese restaurant's food was quite ordinary.

Highly recommend! This is the best value for money hotel in Wuxi!
This used to be the Grand Hyatt, rebranded last year.
The overall environment is clean, elegant, and well-maintained. The high-floor views are expansive, and it's located in the heart of the city's central business district, with excellent dining, shopping, and transportation options nearby. The overall experience was superb.
From check-in, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The butler followed up on our needs throughout our stay, proactively asking if we needed assistance – very professional and meticulous, making the experience top-notch. The hotel proactively upgraded the twin room we booked for my parents to a high-floor room on the 62nd floor for free, offering even better views and a more comfortable stay. This thoughtful upgrade was truly heartwarming.
We stayed in the Candy House themed bunk bed room, and my child absolutely loved it the moment we walked in. After visiting several cities on this trip, my child directly rated this as their favorite place overall, saying they loved Wuxi the most. This high praise from a child truly reflects the hotel's dedication.
The only minor drawback was the parking experience: upon arrival, there were very few signs, and almost no hotel-specific signage in the parking lot, making it difficult to find our way. Also, the third basement level had an unpleasant smell, while the second basement level was fine. This was a slight inconvenience.
The hotel's proactive upgrade, the attentive service throughout, the excellent environment, and the comprehensive surrounding amenities, plus the kid-favorite themed room, made this stay a perfect 10.
Whether for a family vacation or a business trip, this is an excellent choice in Wuxi. I will definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit Wuxi!

First off, a huge shout-out to the concierge team! We stayed for 4 nights with a three-year-old, which meant a lot of preparations. We had diapers delivered to the concierge for safekeeping, and then ordered takeout daily. The concierge team, seeing we had a child, not only gave us gifts but also helped deliver our takeout to the room – we were incredibly touched! Our butler, Cindy Zhou, concierge Vancs, and the cleaning aunties were all incredibly responsive to our every request. We really put everyone out! The housekeeping staff who brought us humidifiers and air purifiers were also fantastic, and the fruit and drink replenishment was always spot-on! Even though the weather wasn't ideal, the service we received was absolutely top-notch.

It was a pleasure to experience such exceptional hotel service during my stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel truly welcome. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the room, which was well-maintained throughout my visit. The hotel's prime location offered great convenience for exploring the area. I am very satisfied with my overall experience and would gladly recommend this establishment.

The Crowne Plaza Suzhou has absolutely fantastic hygiene and environment! The hotel's unique cruise ship design, nestled right on Jinji Lake, is truly special. The public areas are impeccably clean and exquisitely decorated, with the lake views perfectly complementing the lobby's design. Everywhere you look, it's spotless. The rooms are cleaned meticulously; the bedding and bathrooms are sparkling new, with no hidden corners missed and no strange odors – attention to detail is clearly a priority. The overall environment is elegant and tranquil, and the hygiene standards are top-notch, making for a truly peaceful and comfortable stay. It’s perfect for both leisure and business trips; the quality is definitely there!

The front desk staff were professional and efficient, making the check-in process smooth. The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was of good quality. The hotel's location is its biggest advantage, with direct access to the airport which is incredibly convenient. The soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a quiet rest. The facilities were comprehensive, and the internet was reliable, making it a dependable choice for travel.
Excellent hotel, breakfast was amazing with both full western and Chinese cuisine, price also amazing, will definitely stay there next time I visit Yangzhou
1. **Excellent Location for Transportation**
The Hotel is right next to Exit 1 of Metro Line 1. However, if you have luggage, I recommend using Exit 4, which has an elevator.
2. **Great Geographical Location**
The Xuanwu Lake Scenic Area is just across the street, offering free access whenever you wish. The city wall (from Taiping Gate to Shence Gate section) and the Jiefang Gate section are also very close to Jiming Temple.
3. **Spotlessly Clean Hotel**
4. **Wide Variety of Dining Options**
5. **Truly a Five-Star Experience**
As expected from a five-star hotel, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the soundproofing was excellent. Another fantastic stay, earning a five-star rating! Another great experience.
Still a Gem – Shangri-La Nanjing
When I booked, I was a bit worried about the hotel's age and potential for outdated rooms and facilities, but my stay proved those fears completely unfounded. Before check-in, I received a pleasant pre-arrival call. The lobby is spacious and grand, and the front desk service was quick and enthusiastic. The room's layout, decor, and amenities were all impeccable (unfortunately, I didn't take many photos to show everything). The Horizon Club's evening offerings were also excellent, with a good selection of braised dishes. My only regret was that it rained for three consecutive days, making Xuanwu Lake outside the window look perpetually hazy. Overall, I highly recommend it (based solely on my experience in room 3418 this time).
Minor drawbacks:
* The bottled water in the room was Purejoy, which was quite unexpected.
* The showerhead in the bathtub wasn't particularly convenient for single use.
* Although my room shouldn't have been near the elevators, I occasionally heard faint, elevator-like sounds (though very slight).
Towards the end of my holiday, I chose the tallest hotel in Nanjing. The hotel provided a room on the 67th floor with a view of Xuanwu Lake and Zijin Mountain. The most striking feature inside was the large circular bathtub.
Before this, I had already traveled to Shanghai during my third year of junior high school, dealing with work all the way, and was quite tired. For dinner and breakfast, I opted to dine at the hotel. Dinner was at the Summit restaurant on the 76th-77th floors, mainly featuring Huaiyang and fusion cuisine. It wasn't as salty as typical Nanjing dishes, and the cold dish with scampi was a highlight. The restaurant's main hall faces south towards Xinjiekou. Breakfast was at the coffee bar on the 45th floor, available from 9 AM to 7 PM. You could access the observation deck with your room card, which offered views to the north: Zijin Mountain, Jiming Temple, Xuanwu Lake, and the TV tower. The duck blood vermicelli soup and baked flatbread were very Nanjing in the breakfast spread, and the rest was typical InterContinental – very rich and varied. My only minor gripe was that the fruit station didn't have the cucumber sticks and juice often found at the Shanghai InterContinental; I had to get a bowl of cucumber slices from the salad bar.
I visited the independently operated heated pool and gym after dinner, but it was quite crowded due to Chinese New Year, so it wasn't particularly enjoyable. I then explored the mall next door, which was pretty much as described by Nanjing local media. The only new development is that Sunrise Duty Free is setting up shop on the first floor and is currently under renovation.
In a nutshell, my review of the hotel is: Majestic and awe-inspiring!
Facilities: Everything you could need.
Hygiene: Clean and tidy.
Environment: A unique experience. Even with a strong gale outside at night, there was no howling sound once the ventilation windows were sealed. However, before 9 PM, you could hear outdoor loudspeakers from the nearby park or square, which was unavoidable – the entire city acts like a giant amplifier.
Service: Warm and thoughtful, with appropriate boundaries, which I personally find more important.

GGuest UserAn absolutely delightful stay! The hotel was spotlessly clean, cozy, and comfortable, with great attention to detail. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and helpful, offering proactive suggestions for local attractions, which was a lovely touch. Our room was quiet and comfortable, with excellent soundproofing, ensuring a truly restful sleep. The location is superb, making it easy to explore, dine, and shop. Overall, fantastic value for money! I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Suzhou.

Excellent
GGuest UserWe booked a private family room, and the housekeeper, Ms. Zhou, checked us in and took us to the guest room. The room has a large bed and a small bed. The bathing pool is in the yard. If you need to soak in the hot spring, just tell Ms. Zhou and she will happily come over and help fill the hot spring water. She is a very nice person. I really like her. No. I had to go to the public hot springs to soak with others, it was very comfortable. I also went to Nanshan Bamboo Sea. The air was very good. I had a very good accommodation experience this time. I will go there often in the future!
GGuest UserThe service at the hotel was excellent, they were polite and very helpful. Any questions that you asked, they answered without hesitation. Overall the staff, were the best if I have to compare with other big and small hotels that I have been to. My friend and I booked the hotel together. The rooms were very very nice. We loved them. It was easy to travel around the resort, they have golf carts that can take you around the resort. So many activities to do there. You need to speak a little bit of Chinese though. But in case you don’t they will find someone to help you there.
The hotel package we took included the hot springs, spar and breakfast. It was worth it.
The springs are the best. There is also an infinity pool. The people there are very helpful, great service. It was easy to spot two foreigners but they treated us with so much kindness, especially the man and woman at the fish spring and the little cafe there names: 张浩川, 张刘纪 and 彭玉琴.
So Hentique hotels and resort is huge. The area and the activities you can do there are plenty. You can get on a helicopter(480rmb), boat(272rmb) it includes going to the islands and mountain hiking, horse riding and many more. You just have to come with a good budget. Breakfast is at the big hotel that has a great view of the lake.
Hentique pinecone has different restaurants around, the food is between 100 -300 per person. I suggest you bring snacks because there aren’t any shops close by. The big hotel has a shop where you can buy snacks for a price, and an all day restaurant. We ended up moving from hentique pinecone hotel to the big hotel but paid a little bit more and was worth every penny. The hotel really good, with a nice view, the manager on duty that day August 16th 2023 was the best manager, I forgot his name. His English was very very good. He answered all questions and helped us transfer from 松果 to the big hotel.
Having being in China for a long time, this was the best trip ever, with the best service. We will surely go back to this place.
Best service ever. Keep up the good work!!!

DdyhxThe hotel has its own onsen area that's open to non-hotel guests. So the entrance starts with the shoe cabinets before reaching the front desk that serves both onsen day-use guests and hotel guests.
The Japanese themed room was luxurious. Very clean and impeccably maintained, good sound proofing I could hear a pin drop in the room. Double basins, Dyson hair dryer, bidet toilet bowl, standing shower and a huge zen sofa couch area by the window, complete with tea and chess set. Pity there's not much of a view out there. There's also no phone here, just a speaker by the bedside table or one can use WeChat to communicate with the front desk and of course robot deliveries.
Bed and pillow was too soft for my liking. Service is excellent and they even provide turn down service. I left the room for onsen and came back to a room where the curtains are drawn, a plate of fruits on the table, floor towel laid out in the shower area with the bath towel, originally under the basin, now hung on the door of the shower.
The stay package came with an Afternoon Tea set of fruits, desserts and crackers. The cheesecakes were meh but the pineapple tart made up for it. Fruits were fresh and yums.
In-house guests were given unlimited access to the Onsen and I took my time to enjoy it fully. It's a full Jap style onsen, meaning going fully naked. A rather small onsen with just 3 pools but the outdoor one was the best, soaking in 43 degrees pool in the cold. There's a chill out area outside including a lounge, meditation room and a movie-cum-reading room (what an irony though). They also have private onsen rooms for rent at additional costs.
Leisurely breakfast the next morning at 930am. Yes, I had to choose a specific hour to be at breakfast as it's a Jap bento set with a partial buffet (of noodles and porridge). Not outstanding for me.
But otherwise, it was 5* experience and I recommend this to anyone planning to come to Taicang to experience the onsen.
GGuest UserThe room, while a bit dated and standard, was thankfully odorless, which was a huge improvement over my last stay at Suxiang. Traveling with our 1.5-year-old, we appreciated having a play area. It was too hot to go out, so we ended up eating all our meals at the hotel. The food was quite delicious; we tried both Chinese and Western options, and they were all good. All the service staff were incredibly well-trained, polite, and friendly. A special mention to Xiaoqiu from customer service for her exceptionally thoughtful service. The travel photography experience was also excellent and completely hassle-free. We will definitely return!
GGuest UserThe environment is beautiful, but the service details and humanistic care need improvement.
Our overall stay this time was a mixed bag. Let's start with the positives: the hotel's environment is indeed very beautiful. Both the decor of the public areas and the surrounding landscape made us feel comfortable and relaxed, living up to the Hilton brand's consistent style and standards. As a family traveling, especially with elderly parents, we initially had high hopes for this stay.
However, a series of issues that emerged during our stay truly detracted from the experience, mainly in the following areas:
1. **Room not cleaned on time**
We arrived around 3 PM for check-in, but one of our rooms wasn't ready until 5 PM. During this time, our two elderly parents had to sit and wait in another room for nearly two hours, unable to rest. The hotel didn't proactively offer any solutions or provide updates on the delay. We had to inquire multiple times to understand the situation. We understand that occupancy is high during the Spring Festival, but if 3 PM check-in is set, then cleaning schedules should be managed accordingly.
2. **External door lockout issue**
Another room shared an external door with the adjacent room, and this door was repeatedly locked, leaving our elderly parents locked out for nearly half an hour. The door also lacked a doorbell, making it impossible to contact anyone inside in an emergency. This not only affected the experience but also exposed security management flaws. The hotel only offered an explanation and no proactive solution; it was only at our strong insistence that temporary measures were taken.
3. **Wooden door splinters caused injury**
The wooden door in the villa had splinters, which pricked two of our guests. While not serious, it indicates a lack of meticulous routine facility inspection, failing to detect and address such minor hazards promptly.
4. **Lagging buggy service response**
In the evening, there was only one person responsible for the buggy service, leading to long waiting times for guests. When we communicated with the staff, we could sense their helplessness, clearly indicating issues with staffing or scheduling.
All these issues were detailed in writing and feedback was provided to the hotel manager after check-out, but to date, we have not received any response. This 'zero-feedback' approach is even more disappointing than the problems themselves, making one feel that the hotel doesn't genuinely value the guest experience. We hope the hotel can truly consider things from the guests' perspective, especially taking into account the special needs of elderly guests, strengthen staff training, and optimize service procedures so that future guests can enjoy a more reassuring and comfortable stay.
PPeter ortliebWe have stayed one weekend at the banyan tree. Overall we have a very diverse experience with that hotel. All staff was very friendly and this balanced towards the missing 5 star sense of service of some. Some things were a bit chaotic and not aligned.
The breakfast was ok, but I had already much better ones in other and cheaper 5 star hotels in China.
The western restaurant was closed for lunch and dinner. But the food was available and served in the lobby bar. The quality of the food was good.
The Chinese restaurant we haven't tried, it was comparable a bit too expensive for us.
The hotel is only about 4 years old, and it seems it was a very huge investment. Amazing architecture! But, the building quality is partially very poor. But still, I would expect from a brand like banyan tree and a professional hotel management to keep the hotel well maintained. This does not cost a fortune. The room was ok. But some details were already wear out.
At the hot spring area, some details wear already broken and not cleaned properly. The shower was in a disgusting condition, it looks like this was never cleaned in the last year's. There was even huge mold on the glass doors! The steam sauna was smelling and far to hot set.
Little helpful bathroom amenities were missing too.
What we liked: the architecture, the quiet and relaxing surrounding. The hot spring water and pools were nice especially to have one at the balcony of our room.
A great hotel for me is one which I would always like to come back again. So in this case? Would we come back? I must say, even though we like some things. We would not come back, especially not for the regular room rates.
A pity for such a hotel, it has so much potential.
