I booked for a day first, and I was very satisfied immediately when I walked into the room. The room was clean and tidy, the equipment was very new, the bathroom was separated from wet and dry reasonably, and it was equipped with disposable hygiene products. The scenery is outside the window. The front desk attitude is also very good, very thoughtful for tourists. There is also a special oxygen supply room for high anti-retroactive tourists. The price of medical oxygen cylinders is only 15 yuan. is that breakfast is a bit simple, but it is understandable. In short, I am very satisfied, and I continued to live for another day.

Guest UserTo fulfill my long-held dream of visiting Daocheng Yading, I stayed two nights at the Shangri-La Tashi Dakgye Starry Sky Hotel. The hotel service was exceptionally attentive; every request was met with enthusiasm. Knowing I'd be tackling the high-altitude Five-Color Lake the next day, I asked the front desk for extra bottled water, and they happily provided it. The hotel's interior design is elegant, and the smart home features throughout are modern and comprehensive. My two-night stay was incredibly comfortable and pleasant.

Best stay in Western Sichuan, located within the daocheng yading park (second stop, 2 mins walk from the bus stop). Very clean comfortable rooms with extremely hot showers, amenities included. Excellent view (highly recommend getting the snow mountain view room). Staff and owners are really kind and helpful. They’ll explain which routes to go if you are hiking up. They do provide electric blankets, didn’t use the electric heater but it is available for colder months. They have their own restaurant which is very convenient and food was delicious! Simple Chinese breakfast included would have liked to have been able to take some food away to eat along the way as wanted to start the hike earlier could consider asking the staff is this would be possible. Do keep in mind the shuttle bus going up to the scenic site can be quite full so do plan ahead. Would definitely stay here again if I ever come back.

Anonymous UserThis hotel is right in the heart of Shangri-La Town, making it super convenient for food and drinks. Getting to the Daocheng Yading scenic area is also a breeze – a taxi is about 20-something yuan, or you can take the yellow tourist shuttle for 10 yuan per person. The hotel lobby offers complimentary Rhodiola tea. The room was clean and tidy, and I appreciated the disposable towels and bath towels. I saw some reviews mentioning poor soundproofing and noise at night, but honestly, it quieted down pretty much by 9:30 PM. Breakfast starts at 7 AM, though it would be even better if it started earlier.

This was my second stay at the Howard Johnson within three days. This time, I came back to the hotel to rest for a day after hiking down from Yading Village.
The room was upgraded for free again, and the in-room amenities were still excellent. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and of good quality.
However, there were a few hitches. First, let me state that I personally have no prejudice against ******* people, but the ******* housekeeping auntie at the hotel didn't speak good Mandarin. I couldn't understand what she was saying, and she couldn't understand me.
During my first stay, the TV wasn't working, and the auntie came to help. After a long time of trying, she eventually suggested that I video call the engineering department directly. The issue during my second stay was that the hotel air conditioning had no heating. After calling to inquire, the same auntie came again, and it was still like talking to a brick wall. She said she would find someone, but there was no news for a long time. I had to call the front desk and found out that no feedback had been received. After all that back and forth, eventually, a front desk lady and an engineering guy came up to check. They said a valve was broken and needed to be replaced. I felt it was taking too long, so I discussed whether I could change rooms. The front desk agreed and quickly prepared a new room key. The front desk and engineering helped me move my luggage. However, in the new room, the air conditioning still had no heating. It turned out the main valve wasn't open.
Firstly, I've stayed at many Howard Johnson hotels under the Great China umbrella elsewhere, and this is the first time I've encountered AC that only has either cooling or heating. Secondly, I hope the hotel can strengthen Mandarin training for its staff. After all, this is a tourist town, and there should be more Mandarin-speaking guests than Tibetan-speaking ones. Thirdly, when such problems arise, the duty manager or housekeeping manager should step in to resolve them, not the front desk and engineering staff.
Finally, I'd like to thank and commend the front desk lady and the engineering guy who came up that evening to help resolve the issues and move my luggage. Both of them patiently and meticulously sought out the problem and actively worked to solve it. Especially the front desk lady, who maintained a cheerful and approachable demeanor throughout her service.

The hotel I booked was in Shangri-La Town, which is not very high in altitude, only 2850 meters. However, the road we took from Yajiang was quite high, and two of us suffered from altitude sickness. We were very uncomfortable at night. I called the front desk, and when the owner heard we had altitude sickness, he personally drove us to the local hospital. After getting oxygen at the hospital, we felt much better. I'm so grateful to the owner; the service was truly exceptional. We even extended our stay for another night the next day. I'll definitely recommend your hotel first to any friends who come here in the future.

AerbeisiyiketangThis hotel in Shangri-La Town is excellent, offering great value for money! The environment is clean and tidy. While it might not compare to chain hotels, it's still very good overall. The location is a bit away from the busy downtown area, making it very quiet, yet it's only a 5-minute walk to dining options. The service is superb; the front desk staff are great, and the shuttle driver is also very good, using a comfortable business van. (P.S. From Daocheng Yading, the driver at the entrance charged 14RMB per person, but we got a round-trip shuttle for 40+ RMB for three people.) In summary, if you're visiting Daocheng Yading, staying here is definitely your best choice!

When we arrived at the hotel, the staff were already waiting and helped carry our bags from the car into the hotel. Although language was a barrier, communication was easy with the help of a translation app. The hotel has a lift. The room facilities were very clean and comfortable. The mattress was very soft, and the heater worked well. The hotel is close to many restaurants and convenience stores.
