Small, exquisite and beautiful, everything is just right. The hotel is in a very quiet place, and it takes 4 or 5 minutes to get there by sightseeing bus if the navigation is correct. The next day, it rained heavily on the mountain, and then turned to snow. I had no choice but to take the two umbrellas provided by the hotel for customers to use, and finished the wonderful Hakone trip with the umbrellas. I am very grateful for the service and help provided by the hotel.

Had a delightful stay at the ryokan. The rooms are quite impeccable with the smell of the hinoki filling the room, it was quite heavenly.
We chose the room with the outdoor bath. And given the cool weather, our bathing experience was amazing.
The location was also perfect if you are making a trip to the Sengokuhara Susuki Pampas Grass fields, which is such a scenic spot and of which we enjoyed walked to and through in the setting sun.
We also opted to have dinner at the ryokan, who specially made it Halal-friendly for us.
What's most amazing to us regarding the ryokan was the service. We had a Nepalese staff speaking with us most of the time, as he was the best in English. He personally brought us to our room and even gave an introduction to the room, and what we needed to take note off. After we checked out, he enquired how we were making our way to the train station. There was conveniently located bus stop just outside the ryokan, so we were going to take that. On our way out, he drove out and stopped along the road beside us (good thing there was no traffic) and to our utter surprise offered to drive us to the train station. We found out that he was actually knocking off, but instead of going straight home to rest (before his next shift in the evening), he wanted to drive us to the station. We were exceptionally touched at his extremely kind gesture (as we didn't think it was hotel protocol to do so). Nonetheless, his actions left us a beautiful and lasting impression on the ryokan.
Would definitely go again for the luxurious experience!

The hotel is a bit hard to find. There are convenient stores nearby, just take a few minutes walk. The room is clean. No lift, it’s a bit tough if you need to take a heavy luggage to second floor. Lol
Overall, it’s a great hotel. The food in the restaurant is great. Good Japanese experience for us.

It will be unforgettable for you! Although it is located on a high mountain, it is far away from the business district! But the environment is very quiet and beautiful! Free parking! If you are going to Gotemba, Yamanakako sightseeing is also on the way. There is a convenience store opposite and there are also pharmacies and restaurants nearby. The bathhouse is also very clean. There are not many breakfast options, but it is normal. I will go again next time.

This hotel is generally a bad choice, so choose carefully.
All the rooms are single-family villas, and they are surrounded by tall pine and cypress trees halfway up the mountain. It is indeed very quiet.
The room is in Nordic log style, and the space is quite large.
But as a high-end resort hotel, it fails for the following reasons:
1. The biggest complaint is that its food is very, very bad. It's not that I haven't eaten good Kaiseki cuisine. I have been to Japan many times and have experienced delicious Kaiseki cuisine in Kobe's hot spring hotel, and it is very filling. Let's put it this way, the food in this hotel is the worst Japanese cuisine I have eaten in all these years, no one else. There are almost no Japanese employees in the hotel. The people who received us, the waiters in the restaurant, and the people who cook in the kitchen are all Southeast Asians and Indians. Note that the chefs are also. I don't mean to say that Indians are bad, but the chances of them making authentic Japanese food and Japanese service are almost zero. I noticed that all the guests are foreigners, there are no local Japanese people, and I guess this hotel has been abandoned by local Japanese people.
2. The room is not clean. There are many mold spots on the wall. It is terrible for people who love cleanliness😟
3. At 4:00 a.m. on the night we stayed, the whole hotel suddenly lost power, and then the emergency power was activated. The big emergency lighting and doorbell rang repeatedly and shone over my head. It was really annoying to be woken up in the middle of the night. Then no one showed up or apologized or dealt with it afterwards. It's really speechless to encounter such a thing.
4. At 6:00 a.m., there was a radio broadcast, and then there was some prompt in Japanese... My God, I felt like I came here for military training. Then at about 7 or 8 o'clock, the sound of mowing the grass outside was very loud, and I couldn't rest well at all.
So in general, the experience of this hotel is very bad. There are other better options at this price. I will never consider it again. I have a shadow on it.

Beautiful resort in the middle of a remote forest area, perfect for relaxation and connecting with nature. The rooms are cosy and clean. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, with chefs preparing freshly made dishes right in front of you! We did find a bug in the room but the hotel is in the middle of the nature so we didn't mind really. The onsen was ok but it was not mixed. Note that if you are not arriving by car and you have luggage, the hotel is uphill so better contact the staff in advance so they can arrange a pick up for you.

Im very sad. I lost my chanel earing in the hotel. I had a picture upon checkout that i did not wear my earing upon checkout and i remembered i forgotten to wear my earing before checkout which i placed at tv cabinet. I had called the hotel immediately when i realised it through a local japanese (as the hotel cannot speak well fluent in english) and i hope they could revert me whether they are able to locate my earing. After many days, there is no calls from them or even an email. I’m very sad. Checkin in time 3pm check out time 10pm. 9.30am next day morning public bath is already not allowed even before checkout time as the management walked in and stopped my husband to bath. Dinner beef shabu2 is good and breakfast is reasonable quality. Public bath only. Self drive is only convenient for this hotel. I wish the management could contact is if they found my earing at room 204 tv cabinet. Tq.

1. Let me talk about the transportation to the hotel first. I didn't do much strategy before, so I didn't know how to get there. Thanks to the Ctrip girl for patiently answering many of my questions. To sum up, there are a few points: 1) Take the hotel shuttle bus: There is one bus every day, at 14:00, and it will pick you up from Odawara subway station. You can see the bus parking lot when you get out of the station, about ten meters away. The straight-line distance is actually not far, but it takes about an hour to drive around the mountain. I think this is the most convenient way to go. You can directly ask Ctrip to help you book a shuttle bus. 2) You can take the bus. But because I don't know where to check the timetable, I gave up the bus. Everyone says that the bus station is 700 meters from the hotel, but it doesn't feel that close. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk. You have to walk uphill and pass through some residential villas.
2. The hotel room is very large, and there is a small loft downstairs. The decoration can see the old money style. There will be a strong mountain breeze at night, but the hotel windows are very soundproof. It's just that our chandelier lit a faint light in the middle of the night, which was a bit irritating. It was fine the next day.
3. The hot springs are open-air and indoor. They are quite standard. It feels that there are more people in the morning than in the evening.
4. The breakfast restaurant and dinner restaurant are the same. It is right after entering the hotel lobby. The view is very good. The breakfast variety is quite rich. Adults are RMB 200. Children are half price. Compared with the breakfast variety, this price is a bit expensive. Because there is no on-site service for breakfast.
5. There is a bus to Odawara Station at 11 o'clock. We went directly to the outlet with our luggage. Because the road to the bus station is not smooth, we asked the hotel's minivan to take us to the bus station. It took about five minutes.
6. It takes 10 minutes to walk from the hotel to the bus station. You can take a bus to Taoyuandai Station, and then you can buy a cable car ticket to Owakudani there. You can also buy a pirate ship ticket for Lake Ashi. They are all at that station, which is a hub station. You can also take a bus directly to the outlet. It takes about half an hour, and then it is very convenient to change to the outlet shuttle bus. I put the bus schedule below for your reference. There is a Lawson supermarket at the hotel station. There is also a park for watching Miscanthus, which is worth a visit.
All in all, I highly recommend this hotel. Very convenient and quiet.

A small and exquisite Japanese-style hotel. The location of the hotel is very good. It is very close to the pirate ship and the starting point of the ropeway, Togendai. You can clearly see Mt. Fuji at the entrance of the hotel.
The hotel lobby is also very elegant, and the surrounding murals are all in Chinese style. The tatami mats in the Japanese-style room are large enough to accommodate three people.
The hotel's reception staff are very friendly and can provide every convenience.
In addition, this hotel is also very close to the Senjihara Meadow, one of the 50 scenic spots in Hakone, and the autumn scenery is spectacular.

We loved it here! I booked a room (Japanese style room for 5 people) for the two of us since this matched my budget best that had onsen access (200$ for the night including dinner and breakfast for two people). The traditional room was right above the garden and the futons were SO comfy, definitely an experience I will never forget! The breakfast and dinner buffet were both great! The have yakatas for borrow on the floors and in the rooms with sandals which was super fun, we wore them to dinner. We only spent one night but they easily held our luggage all of the checkout day. We could see Mt Fuji from the lovely garden (the tip top as most is usually covered by clouds in spring). My only complaint is there is only one single washer dryer in the whole place and my clothes got soaked from the rain so I waited in line but then I realized that this would never feasibly happen so just dried the clothes on hangers and left the door open overnight so all was well… love this place so much!

Outstanding
Xxy.fftThe service was really good, we had to drive from Tokyo so it took a while and we were kinda delayed by traffic for a bit due to it being one lane. Our hosts are really kind and help with parking our cars and bringing us our luggages. Although we thought it was advertised as a hotel, it's actually a ryokan. Really apologetic for the inconvenience from us during our stay there, we checked in late and even came back late during one of the night - resulting in us missing dinner service (they even set up and left some food for us). We also wanted to leave for the convenience store close to midnight, only to find out that the doors are all shut, we didn't want to make them do extra work so we went back to our rooms.
The rooms are great and the views are so beautiful, it's amazing to wake up to such greenery / mountain view. Breakfast and dinner service will be in the rooms and the staff will help us lay and keep our futons as well. I had the chance to soak in one of the private baths, it was really relaxing and nice, warms me right up since it was around 10 degrees in the autumn. Amenities provided are very adequate as well, even in the baths (public/private). Besides all that, there's a lounge area with massage chairs, it was the best thing ever, highly recommend to try it during your stay.
It's more convenient if you drive, there are convenience stores are few mins drive away. The entrance from the road is a really sharp bend so you need to take note in case you missed it. Plenty of parking space as well, wouldn't be a concern during your stay. Shoes are removed right at the lobby and kept by the staffs, very homely vibes.
Overall a pleasant stay with them and would love for more people to experience what I've experienced. Thank you to all staff and hosts who made it possible. If there's a chance, I'd love to visit again.
GGuest UserThis ryokan is perfect for people who want to experience ryokan for the first time but want something cheaper within Hakone area. Situated on the main road with buses to Owakudani and train to Odawara. I'd recommend catching the bus from Odawara to this ryokan since the walking trail from the closest station to this place is hilly and has lots of stairs. Main road is not very luggage friendly so pack very light when you're staying here.
This place has very nice rooms with view to the river behind it. The view is spectacular when the entire river area is covered in red autumn leaves. Dinner and breakfast are very delicious, you will be served a range of traditional food from a la carte to dessert. You can also book your private indoor onsen FOR FREE. The ryokan also has an open outdoor onsen across the bridge for 3000 JPY.
The only downside of this place is the main road is very busy as it's the only way for people to drive from Odawara to Owakudani. So local people take this road to get to Owakudani. Buses from this place will not stop at there in the weekend. Your best plan is to go to Lake Ashi first and take the opposite route to Owakudani instead. Plan your trip in this area very carefully because a bus trip that would take 10-15 minutes will end up taking you 1 to 1.5 hours.
AAnonymous UserI had a very nice and decent experience staying at Yumoto Fujiya Hotel. Not only was it near the Yumoto station, it was also with numerous choices of restaurants where you could enjoy lunches / dinners. It was particular meaningful to me as you can rarely see restaurants opened outside after 6pm, and i was super hungry at that time. But it’s better to reserve earlier if you decide to have dinner inside the hotel.
The room was clean, though not spacious enough (but it’s very common in Japan). The onsen was also nice which opened until 1am at night. Overall, it was a great experience.
TTimothyIf you have extra money, this could be a nice way to indulge. However, a word of warning. If you're arriving at Odawara train station, there's no way to get to the hotel except by the hotel shuttle. Taxis won't take you. And the hotel shuttle won't take you unless you've placed your name on the reservation list ahead of time. Nobody warned me about this. I'd read online that a connecting train takes you near the hotel, but this isn't true either. I arrived during a snow/ice storm and waited over 3 hours before I could get a ride to the hotel. The shuttle driver wouldn't let me on. I called the hotel front desk 3 or 4 times, but they weren't very helpful. I suppose this is the language barrier. They meant well. But regardless, if a shuttle reservation is the only way to access a remote mountain top hotel, it's pretty important to make sure your guests understand this. Once I did arrive, I have to admit the room was beautiful. The buffet dinner was fantastic but not included in the price of the room - a little disappointing, since the room is already so expensive. Lots of extra costs, so be careful. I received a really great massage in my room. The onsen hot spring was very nice, and free (included in room charge). Breakfast the next morning was also included in room charge. The hotel bar was closed, though. There wasn't much opportunity to socialize or meet people. I did check out the lake the next morning, which was beautiful in the snowfall. I'm sharing photos of that. There wasn't time to check out much else because I had to get back on the shuttle bus at 10:30 to catch my next train. I suppose if there hadn't been an ice storm, I would have checked out more of the surrounding area and appreciated it.
GGuest UserBest hotel during my stay in Tokyo
Hot spring is nice
Drink is free to drink and even beer
The environment is good and nice too
Highly recommend and hope I can come again next time
AAvid Traveller Angiewe absolutely love this quaint and well kept hotel. It's nicely maintained and staff are superb. Facilities, amenties, meals are fantastic. I can't wait to return again. Highly recommended.
Ccolababy7The best thing is the service! The decoration style is relatively modern, not very old-fashioned, you can communicate in English (many hotel communication is quite annoying), you can take the subway to Odawara Station, you will send an email before the trip, and the food is ordinary, not amazing.
33LittlePigsExcellent service! It was very crowded at check in but the friendly staff greeted us and sat us down at sofa, also directed us to welcome drinks and snacks.
It was a bit hard to find driving to the hotel after sunset as it was tugged away in a small street.
5 minutes drive from Gora station, 7 min to Open Air Museum, and 15 min to 大涌谷 volcanic steam vent.
The in room private onsen was great!! Public bath was a little disappointing, it’s quite small and co-ed, usage so we need to wear swim suits which felt a little awkward.
GGuest UserWe got to the hotel in the beautiful location just before 3pm and we got given a little tour of the place and then got shown to our room. The staff are very friendly and do their best to speak English. A lovely lady was in charge of our hospitality throughout our stay and she first showed us that there is a public hot spring and a private hot spring and asked us if we would like to book a time to use the private hot spring, we booked a time as we checked in but then we didn’t use it as we were happy with our private hot spring in the room. We also booked a time for dinner and they arrived at that time
Promptly with A LOT of food. We also got a choice for a staple food and we chose some steak which was high quality and delicious, as well as the lobster (on the menu it said grilled prawn but a lobster is what came and it was delicious). We ordered a few beers and a bottle of wine with room service and it always came quickly and was nice and cold.
The private hot spring is absolutely boiling but it’s a good experience and there’s ice water provided which helps.
Breakfast came at 8.30am and it was also huge! It didn’t come with coffee but I ordered some and that was easy enough.
The lady who served our food explained every dish and how to eat it and she was always extremely friendly and attentive.
Would recommend!
KkitekidThe exterior is in the style of a simple European manor, and the interior should have been renovated in recent years. The key is a traditional key with a long plexiglass room card, which is very impressive.
There is a natural hot spring private bath, where you can enjoy the view on the hillside. There are massage chairs, TVs, etc. in the bathing and changing lounge area for you to rest and cool down before returning to the room. The service is very considerate.
The breakfast is a Western set meal, which is exquisite and can be eaten as a breakfast. The restaurant faces the hillside and the scenery is invincible.
We arrived very late, and the front desk was also very friendly.
The front desk was also very friendly during the day, and they responded to every request. Luggage can be stored.
The bed and tatami are very good, and the quilt is a duck down quilt, which makes you sleep very comfortably at night.
The disadvantage is that you have to climb a slope to leave ”Gora”. There is a car to pick you up at 18:00 in the evening, so you can only climb if it's late. It's closer to ”Park Shang” and there is not such a big slope, but there is still a car at 22:00 on the mountain climbing line to ”Gora”, and there seems to be no car at 18:00 on the traction railway to ”Park Shang”. If you go late, you can only climb or take a taxi. We checked in late, so we only enjoyed the service of being sent to Gora after checking out.
