Tsukino Yado Sara ★★★★
"Great service , cheerful staff , room with good shot for moon and stars . The river with Sakura is good"
Daiwa Roynet Hotel Numazu ★★★★
"This was my favorite hotel during my trip to Japan. The price was reasonable, and the citizen's center where we had our conference was right downstairs. It's excellent! The subway station is only about 200 meters away, which is very convenient. The best part is the room is spacious, and you can see Mount Fuji right from the window. The breakfast is a full buffet and very rich. They even provide bath powder, toiletries, and for lotions and toners, it's Sekkisei! The service attitude was also great."
Tenseien ★★★★
"The hotel environment is elegant and comfortable, and the rooms are clean and tidy! The customer service is warm and thoughtful, making for a perfect hot spring hotel experience. The buffet offers a wide variety of dishes and is highly recommended! 👍"
Hotel New Akao ★★★★
"My experience at the Shin Akawo Hotel was absolutely superb. The architecture is grand and elegant, and the surrounding views are breathtaking. The signature infinity sea-view hot spring is incredibly atmospheric and truly therapeutic, facing the ocean directly – soaking in it was extra relaxing. The buffet restaurant offers an amazing variety of dishes, all fresh and delicious. The refreshing and detoxifying Yuzu drink was a perfect touch. Highly recommended!"
Setsugetsuka ★★★★
"Highly highly recommended Location: Super near Gora station very convenient to travel everywhere. There is even direct bus to and fro Gotemba premium outlet, Hakone-Yumoto and Odawara was convenient as well. Ryokan: Check in was great, front desk communicates and explains everything in English clearly. Was able to reserve my 2 night’s dinner upon checking in too. There were free snacks, lounge area with coffee/drinks/ice cream, you can choose your yukata for both male/female, daily nighttime free delicious ramen. Room: Excellent, bed was comfortable and there is an outdoor tub as well. Take note the tub will be filled with hot water instead of hot spring water. There was pyjamas as well. Onsen: There are 3 different outdoor private tubs which will light up when in used (first come first serve basis). We managed to try all 3 and our favourite was the wooden tub, followed by stone tub and lastly the one with 2 tubs (so each person to soak in 1). Queue can be quite long sometimes as this private onsen is popular among couples. To be considerate it is best to use it as quick as possible. Then there is the public onsen with both indoor and outdoor, hot, cold dips and sauna. Hot dips can reach up to 40-42 degrees. There is another human made hot water carbonation onsen which has lesser people since it is not hot spring water. I thoroughly enjoyed all the onsens. Meals: Highly recommend to opt the breakfast and dinner options. Restaurants close very early around 5pm so there are not a lot of dinner options outside the ryokan. Meals were excellent and Japanese Kaiseki style. Very delicious and there was so much food in the course meal. Overall 10/10 experience and I would choose this ryokan on my next trip."
Ito Kowakien ★★★★
"Great environment, excellent service, and the hot springs are clean and authentic!"
The Hiramatsu Hotels & Resorts Sengokuhara Hakone ★★★★★
"The hotel environment is good, the food is high-quality, and the location is a bit remote. A round trip taxi to the hot spring costs 1,000 yen. The hot spring water temperature is too high and the public bath cannot be soaked at all. The private bath in the room can barely soak for 2 minutes. The toiletries are half Bvlgari and half Japanese brand"
Hakone Yutowa ★★★★
"Very clean and convenient. I would surely recommend for families looking for best location and accommodation."
Hotel Indigo HAKONE GORA by IHG ★★★★★
"The hotel room was great and spacious. Great service by the receptionist, they were very helpful on the logistics and guides to do in Hakone"

Hakone Kowakien Hotel
"Wonderful, both breakfast and dinner are Buffet, and the water park is feel and nice for adults or kids"
Hakone Gora Byakudan
"Our stay at Hakone Gora Byakudan was truly wonderful. The hotel is peaceful, beautifully designed, and the private onsen made the experience very relaxing. What made the stay especially memorable was Ms Konno. She personally took care of every meal we had, and each dish was beautifully prepared and thoughtfully presented. Her warm smile and genuine hospitality really touched our hearts. It felt less like staying at a hotel and more like being welcomed back home. Thank you, Ms Konno, for making our stay so special."
Hakone Kowakien Ten-yu
"After checking in, I finally understood why some people come back multiple times. It was a very pleasant experience."
Gora Hanaougi Madoka No Mori
"From the start til the end of our stay it was wonderful. The hotel is small and cozy and that makes it quiet and special. The rooms were big and has a private Onsen. They also have a public Onsen to share with other guest and there wasn't anyone when I went in. The meals provided was wonderful although some of it maybe be acquired taste. We also had it in a private room. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Only thing is trying to get someone to help to us call the private shuttle while we are out was tricky. They provide free shuttle to/fro open air museum, Gora stn and kowakien bus stop. Would highly recommend this place if you like a small ryokan that provides kaiseki style meals with amazing hospitality."
Yoshiike Ryokan
"Our trip to Hakone was incredibly lucky, with beautiful clear weather, and staying at the Yoshike Ryokan exceeded our expectations, leaving us very satisfied. The most impressive feature of the ryokan is its vast, strolling garden. Spanning a large area, the garden is exquisitely designed with ponds, small bridges, lush trees, and moss. Strolling through the courtyard at leisure, with the sound of flowing water and abundant greenery, every step reveals a new beautiful view. The atmosphere is truly captivating, and you could easily spend a long time just exploring the garden. The view of the garden from our room was also delightful. I must give a special shout-out to a staff member with a ********* accent. Her service was gentle and incredibly patient. She was meticulous and thoughtful in her communication, diligently answering all our questions, and her demeanor was humble and courteous, adding a lot of warmth to our trip. Overall, the staff at the ryokan are of a very high standard, treating guests with kindness and grace. Many online reviews mentioned that the facilities are old, but we honestly didn't feel that way during our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the entire ryokan environment was very quiet, far from the hustle and bustle, making it perfect for relaxation. We didn't opt for the kaiseki meal at the ryokan this time, so we can't comment on it. This old ryokan perfectly captures the serene ambiance of traditional Japan. After soaking in the hot springs and strolling through the garden, both body and mind felt completely soothed. If I ever come back to Hakone, I would gladly choose to stay here again. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys peaceful gardens."
Hakonenomori Okada
"It was a nice stay beautiful view from the top. We arrived raining and we left still Raining but aside of that it was a lovely stay. Great experienced."
Hakone Forest of Verde
"Thank you for the Hospitality!"
HAKONE YUYADO ZEN
"Great service & room!! The location may be a-little inconvenient for people that do not drive. After we check-in, they arranged and provided us a ride to take the cable car (so nice of them!) There is onsen in the room, snacks and amenities. The dinner was so-so for us as we do not eat beef so it was changed to another alternative. Breakfast was great though!"
Hotel Clad
"This is my second stay here. Last December, I could see Mount Fuji every day, but this time it rained, so no luck. The room is spacious and bright, with a well-thought-out layout. The hot springs downstairs are a great amenity. Plus, having an outlet mall right downstairs is incredibly convenient!"
Mount View Hakone
"This hotel offers a luxurious Japanese-style stay with a dinner and breakfast plan. Both meals are high-quality Japanese cuisine, and you can also reserve a private onsen (hot spring). If you're visiting Hakone for a two-day, one-night trip, I highly recommend staying here. On your second day, you can take a bus directly to Togendai to catch the pirate ship and the Hakone Ropeway to Owakudani."
HOTEL nehako
"I was very pleased with this hotel experience. The hotel is affordable and rooms were very comfortable and clean! It is a less than 10 minute walk from the Hakone-Yumoto station. There and public and private hot springs in the hotel for guests to use."
Hotel Green Plaza Hakone
"Stayed 2 nights half board. Cleanliness is great with common areas and room well kept. Staff are helpful and patient. Breakfast and dinner are both with a very good buffet spread. However the presentation and quality of food has much to improve. It reminds me of a workplace canteen if not a army cookhouse which spoiled our appetite. Seriously lacking the finesse of the Japanese dining culture experience. I would prefer a lesser quantity and spread of food but a better arrangement and presentation of the food as well as their quality. Example in point, many of the food were factory prepared and mass dump on to the buffet servicing trays. The menu items did not changed during the duration of my stay. So the dining experience was not very enjoyable. Hotel is supposed to have a resident cook, maybe the cook is on vacation. The hotel location is far from other restaurants which did not help either. Other than the dinning experience, stay was great."
Hotel Kajikaso Hakone
"This room type was excellent. It featured two Western-style beds and could be partitioned into smaller, private sleeping areas with a screen. The living room was spacious enough for several people to sleep, which was perfect for our elderly family members, ensuring everyone got an undisturbed rest. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious Kaiseki meals, served right in our room. They even included a plum aperitif. The portions were incredibly generous – we were all absolutely stuffed! The onsen water was continuously circulating and refreshed, ensuring it was very clean. We could soak with complete peace of mind."
Ichinoyu Honkan
"It's great value for money, and the food is delicious. The building is 400 years old, so it's inevitably a bit old, but it really has a traditional Japanese style. If you're on a budget, this is a great choice."
Hakone Ashinoko Hanaori
"The location is excellent, making it very convenient for getting around. There's a direct shuttle bus from Odawara Station to the hotel. The Pirate Ship and ropeway are just a five-minute walk away. The hotel staff are very enthusiastic. Although the facilities are a bit dated, the atmosphere is very cozy. The buffet dinner, included in the room rate, is extensive and offers a variety of drinks. However, the menu is pretty much the same every day, so after three days, it can get a bit repetitive."
Hakone Kowakien Miyama-furin
"Facilities: The Japanese-style room was very spacious. We could add a tatami bed for the kids, which they absolutely loved. Cleanliness: It was clean, and the room had a toilet with a separate wet and dry area. The bathtub was very comfortable for soaking, and all the amenities were well-equipped. Environment: Clean and beautiful. The slope at the entrance was a nice little workout, especially considering the great room rate. Service: Excellent! We could store our luggage and borrow umbrellas."
