Hotel Indigo Hakone Gora, an IHG Hotel

Gora/Sengokuhara Hakone|5.6km from city centre
Hotel Indigo was recommended to us by a co-worker. She raved about how much she enjoy her stay, so we decided to visit for our Anniversary. We loved everything about this hotel from check in to check out, everything was amazing. The hotel staff always made us feel welcome, by greeting us (by name most of the time) whenever we were out and about in the hotel. Hannah checked us in. She was nice and provided us with information about the area. We had the breakfast included in our stay. The restaurant manager Koji-san was awesome. While not a picky eater, I do like my eggs cooked a certain way...lol.. On the first day of breakfast, my eggs were not cooked to my liking. When my plate was taken, Koji-san noticed that I did not eat my eggs. He immediately came to our table and inquired about the eggs. I told him that they were too soft for me. He apologized and asked if I had enough to eat and said that he would like to try again the next morning. I thought this was such a kind gesture. For the next 4 days, my eggs were cooked exactly how I like them. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant. It is a bit pricey, but the chef is very good. The salmon and asparagus were my favorites. Our anniversary was on the 22nd and we received a call from the front desk asking if they could bring us a gift for our anniversary. They brought us an assortment of sweet treats, which we enjoyed with a cup of tea. Very sweet. Our room was spacious, clean with the perfect temperature. The television was the largest that I have seen a Japanese hotel. Our room was on the riverside with a private outdoor onsen. While relaxing in the onsen, you can hear the calming sounds of the river. There is also a foot soak in the garden area. it was a bit to cold outside for me, so I didn't get to enjoy it on this stay. The hotel was cleaned thoroughly and safety precautions were taken. All of staff wore masks and for breakfast, we were provided with gloves to get continental items from the buffet. All tables were wiped down immediately after a party left and were socially distanced. The hotel is in close proximity to just about everything. During our 5 day stay, we visited The Open Air Museum, the Venetian Glass Garden, Gora Park, and The Red Gate of Peace. We will definitely be returning and look forward to our next stay in the Spring.

This hotel is a historic property set in an iconic setting. We stayed in the Forest Section which features large, comfortable rooms that were a little dark, the bathroom lighting could be improved. Here is my issue. We arrived around 1:15 and we’re told that we could check in at 3:00. We had lunch in their cafe ( 50$) and asked again about an hour later if we could have early access. The very polite desk clerk replied “ Yes, for $70 dollars “. Astounded , I countered that we were departing early 2 days later, and he reduced the amount to $35. Now here is where communication becomes an issue: I continued the “are you kidding me?” and he kept bowing. I thought the issue was settled. That night and the next we ate at their lovely restaurants, French and the Cascade. Food and service was superb. With wine we spent about $900. Check out was early, and my husband didn’t really examine the bill. When we were back in our free early access room in Tokyo I noticed the $35 charge. I contacted the hotel’s customer service and they confirmed the charge. So, what about customer hospitality? I have NEVER been charged an early access fee for an hour. They have been times when we patiently waited for a room to be readied, and never demanded a rebate. It is all part of the guest/host agreement, I think this is probably a corporate decision by the Fujiya Group. Rethink your mission, guys, make guests feel wanted!

Style. Taisho era traditional onsen Setting. Hakone Suishoen is a cultural property that belonged to the Mitsui family, built 1925 Explore. Hakone. Was here late October, Hakone is a beautiful area and it is almost autumn foliage season Rooms. 23 rooms on the property surrounded by old maple trees and bamboos. Two beds in room Hananome. Sisley amenities. Large shower area that steps out into the outdoor onsen which faces the trees, found it to be truly restorative as I felt a bit beaten down when I arrived. Complimentary mini bar (except for the champagne and Macallan). Dark wood furnishings in my room looked dated and room had very little windows and natural light @ the hotel. great service throughout my stay, although strange to be served welcome tea in a paper cup. Didn’t try the public onsen. High quality souvenirs in the restaurant and lobby shop. Meals in the gorgeous historic Mitsui property Food and drinks Excellent traditional kaiseki dinner and breakfast in a private room in the historic Mitsui residence (aka restaurant Momiji). Built 1925 but still comfortable (ie floor heating) I was in Japan for three nights and while this was not a Michelin restaurant ( tried a few during this trip ), dinner here was my favorite and my comfort food. I kept on thinking about how food is functional medicine and this place hit the spot Prices. Moderate $662 as included a delicious dinner and breakfast Rating. 4/5 ( everything was perfect except for the welcome drink in a paper cup and my room’s decor/lighting )

Great experience! From the receptionist in the parking lot to the front desk and lounge are first class As soon as I entered the wooden house, I smelled a faint woody fragrance, and my whole person suddenly relaxed a lot. You have to take off your shoes when you enter the hotel, and the front desk will take care of them, so you directly step on the tatami with your feet, soft and comfortable. The room is very large, there are three doors from the main door of the room to the position of the bed, so the room is very quiet. The bed is very large, moderately soft and hard. There is free water, beer and juice in the small refrigerator. The electric kettle has hot water that has already been heated, and there is also a pot of room temperature water to drink next to it The room is heated and air-conditioned at the same time In addition to shampoo and other products, there are also toners, makeup lotions, and lotions that can be used. There are also hair loops for long hair. The whole arrangement is very careful. The view of the room is first-rate, and soaking in a daze in the open-air hot spring is a first-class enjoyment. Dinner and breakfast are in the restaurant on the second floor. Arrange a time with the waiter to go to the first floor and they will show you where to eat. Dining is in a semi-private room with tatami mats, and no other guests will be seen. The waiter for both meals is the same person, needless to say, polite, with a bright smile, very hard to explain the dishes in simple English. It is suitable for people who like to be quiet, slow, and [not to see people]!

Hakone Pax Yoshino

Hakone Pax Yoshino

Hakone yumoto Hakone|1km from city centre

Latest booking 15 hrs ago

I read great reviews about Hakone Pax Yoshino. It's an older hotel in a tourist town and appears quite nice. My room was OK, large and could use some updating. My traditional dinner and service was spectacular, hence my 3-star rating. What tainted a one-night stay is I was traveling with a vegetarian friend and not only was she shut out of a dinner she paid for, but the front desk agent said they couldn't accommodate her, there would be no refund or substitutions, because we were traveling as solos we couldn't sit together - so many ”couldn'ts” that were simply not true. This tainted my stay and I went alone to dinner - plenty of room for another person - which was great. I was embarrassed that I had picked this hotel for friends to stay separately and upon arrival was told that our plan didn't include meals, which they sure did. So, at the front desk for about $300 per night, everything is ”couldn't”. Breakfast was just OK compared to dinner. I loved wearing the yakata and having hot spring water in the room's tub (which could use updating) was nice. In the morning, I was told to reserve a spot on a shuttle to the train station for what reason, I'm not sure. When no shuttle showed up for me, my friend and others waiting - and waiting - and waiting - we were then told that the shuttle doesn't always show up. Why the reservation for something that doesn't happen? The front desk could not request a cab, another ”couldn't”. Since most of us leaving had trains to catch and tours scheduled, we walked the 15 minutes or so to the station in the rain. I saw other guests I met while waiting also drenched at the station. In short, I'm not impressed though so much of Japan has impressive accommodations and kindness. Hakone Pax Yoshino falls short. For that reason, I wouldn't stay again and don't recommend it. Too bad, because the traditional dinner and restaurant serving staff are top notch. I'm sure the chef - and a dinner this good has to have a chef - would have said to serve a vegetarian rice, vegetables, desserts of which there were several as well as a large drink menu and other dishes - and the experience would have been better. Unfortunate that the front desk person we had could only say no, you don't have, we can't. Well, I think they could have. Very sad.

Hotel Green Plaza Hakone

Lake Ashi Hakone|9.21km from city centre
The hotel has a great potential, location is good once once you are there but arriving to the Hotel is terrible. The free shuttle wasn’t running when we arrived to gondola station and we needed to walk in the middle of an icy road carring our luggage, the most incredible thing is the staff didn’t really care when we got to the reception. The hotel installations are quite old and you have issues with mold all over the place, the corridor had a basket on the floor to colect dropping water from the ceilings, our bathroom was smelling really bad probably due to some sewage leak behind the toilet. The onsen was OK, just like others in the same category, however the views of the Mount Fuji are not that great as you need to stand up and take you body out of the onsen waters to see the it. Also, it is a quite lateral and partial view. So don’t expect great things here. The food was OK and restaurant staff was friendly and helpful. I felt that the food standards were also a bit low compared to other places we stayed in Japan. The worst part was the reception staff, they don’t know how to cater for international guests and they are not willing to help in your way in and out of the hotel if you are not driving your own car. So here is my recommendation, DON’T stay here if you are planning to use Hakone’s public transportation to get hotel. We actually lost 1:30 hours of our itinerary on the way out because they didn’t want to run the shuttle bus 5 minutes earlier to take us to a bus station 6 minutes away from the hotel (btw you can’t really walk with your luggage in Hakone’s roads on winter since they are steep an icy sometimes). The funny thing is thay me and my wife where the only guests on the shuttle when the left the hotel, so they could easily save 1:30 hours of our day being a little more understanding. Overall, just find somewhere else to stay in Hakone.

Hakone yumoto Hakone|0.86km from city centre
Staying at the cherry blossoms after a long time. This is an inn that is easy to go to with few slopes and is within a moderate distance to walk from Hakone Yumoto Station through the street of a souvenir shop and in front of a liquor store and convenience store. You can buy your favorite snacks and drinks. Of course, there are all-you-can-drink alcohol at the inn. Towels from the participating schools of Hakone Ekiden were exhibited in the lobby, and the afterglow of the New Year remained. The large communal bath is also covered with tatami mats. The open-air bath is small, and the landscape is green on the slopes, reminiscent of the forest, mountain inns, and ancient capitals. The open-air, 2 or private bath seems to come out of the bathtub when the hot water decreases. Or it seems to come out when the hot water temperature drops. I've been standing in Oita since I first visited, but it seems that some facilities are aging. My wife said that there was a place where the shower holder was removed in the women's bathroom. However, overall, I didn't feel old and felt that it was a clean inn. There is no problem with the service of the staff, but I felt a little less energetic (quiet?) Compared to the series of Suiyun. You may be tired from working on New Year's Day. I didn't notice the open-air bath with a room from spring to autumn, but the bathtub that seemed to be made of pottery was cold and it was a little lukewarm even if I put hot water in it. Since it is boiling water, I thought it would be better to raise the temperature of the water more in winter. The restaurant is partly side-by-side, which is good for preventing infection, but it is difficult to do sukiyaki unless you line up well with left-handed and right-handed people. I hardly drank, but I don't remember applying at the time of booking, but it was a New Year's service or all-you-can-drink. For example, if you want to eat a meal of 1 10,000 yen at a local restaurant, you should come here on weekdays and stay here if you can make a reservation and eat dinner, so it is an inn that you want to go actively.

・I stayed for 2 nights and 3 days without meals (about 9300 yen per person). *However, two hours before I decided to make a reservation, the price was about 7,500 yen for three days and two nights, so it might be a good deal if you make a reservation early. I lost my mind💦 ・From Hakone-Yumoto Station, take the Hakone-machi Line bus for 11 stops, and get off at the Kamisokokura stop, and you can arrive in a 2-minute walk. I took the Hakone Tozan Railway to Kowakidani Station and walked about 15 minutes from there. Since the road is the main road, there were almost no sidewalks, so I think it would be best to go by bus. [Room] ・This time, I stayed in a dormitory's Kagodoko (cabin type). First of all, the room is very clean. The lighting is bright and I feel good. There are 2 power outlets and 1 USB dedicated power supply, and charging is also possible. There is also a 4-digit lockable valuables compartment inside the room. I am very grateful for this. You can feel secure just by putting your wallet here. Furthermore, to enter the dormitory space, you have to unlock the auto lock with the room key, so I think security is perfect. [Onsen] ・It was great. There are both open-air baths and indoor baths. The only disappointing thing is that there is a distance between the indoor bath and the open-air bath, so you have to wear clothes before moving. I thought, ”Then, I should just use the open-air bath,” but there is no washing area in the open-air bath. This was the only disappointment, but everything else was perfect. The open-air bath is a little hot and comfortable, and the indoor bath is lukewarm so you can use it forever. Both are kept clean and pretty clean. Depending on the time of day, you can have it all to yourself, so it was pretty good.・In addition, the dryer was a type with a strong air flow, so it is safe. In general, the hair dryers at hotels and inns have a weak airflow and don't dry your hair in the middle of the day. It is a gem that dries quickly. [Meals] ・Since this is a guest house, no meals are provided. However, the wonderful kitchen is open for free. Free coffee and tea. Free microwave and refrigerator. Tableware is also free. I thought it was the best facility for staying for a while on a trip and doing nomad work. There are about 10 restaurants nearby and a convenience store, so I don't think you'll have any trouble finding food. [Inside the building/lobby] ・Everywhere is clean and comfortable. Due to the location, it was a little difficult to walk up and down the stairs, but it would be nice to be able to climb up and down the stairs more than usual and get some exercise. 1F is the reception, B1 is the room, B2 is the kitchen and lounge, and B3 is the hot spring.・The toilet is shared, but it is well-cleaned and is also very clean. [Customer Service] ・Very friendly and pleasant. However, it is also nice to keep a sense of distance by not communicating more than necessary unless you go from here. [Others] ・The lounge was too nice. The tatami room has a counter and two kotatsu tables, and the floor lounge has a counter and about five table seats. From the counter, you can see the nature of Hakone in front of you. Every seat has a power supply, so it's perfect for nomad work. What's more, it has Free Wi-Fi, so it's nice to be able to work without worrying about the network or power supply. Of course, it is also possible to bring in what you have made in the kitchen and work while eating. I thought it was the perfect workspace. [Overall] ・Since it is a dormitory-style room, it is cheap. All facilities are clean and comfortable. The customer service is also friendly and the more you go, the more you will probably feel like at home. Power supply and network facilities are also perfect. In such a place, while starting up the PC and crackling, if I get tired, I will soak in the open-air bath, and if I get hungry, I will go to the neighborhood for a meal. I was surprised that such a perfect and wonderful space existed in Hakone. In my case, round-trip transportation from Tokyo and accommodation for two nights and three days totaled 14,000 yen. If anything, I would like to book all weekdays, stay overnight and completely work here. It was such a lovely place. It seems that there are regular rooms other than dormitories, so next time I would like to visit for a relaxing stay with my family. Thank you very much. #Ryokan #Dormitory #Guesthouse #Renovation #Hakone Tsutaya Ryokan #Cheap #Equipped #Free Wi-Fi #Free power supply #Nomad #Hakone #Sightseeing spot #Accommodation #Ryokan #Dormitory #Guesthouse #Renovation #HakoneTsutayaRyokan #Reasonable #FullyEquipped #FreeWi- Fi #FreeAC #Nomad #Hakone #SightseeingSpot #Accommodation

Sometimes I said I would stay at the inn of Western dinner, and I made a reservation that it was a good evaluation. It was almost a good comment when I read the inn site. However, I wanted to check in advance, and even if I called, I was a message many times, and I didn't return it even if I put a message. I imagine a Petit Hotel or pension from the name, but when I stepped into the building, it was completely different. First of all, there is no pot or glass in the room, they are in the hallway, put tea in the hallway, and bring the room, but the door is automatic lock, so if you forget the key, it is miserable in one hand. The room has a small sofa, but I couldn't feel very clean and didn't use it, and I was sitting on the bed all the time in the room. The bath in the room is a unit bus, but there is no outlet, and the dryer (also in the corridor) is not available in the unit bus. Anyway, there was no washlet in the toilet, and the seat was attached to the toilet seat, and it was wet when sitting, and it was disgusting to use the toilet and open the lid. In addition, the door of the unit bus does not open if it does not cut the power (even in the power of the man), and it is only half open, and one of the washing yukata placed in the room has a stain that cannot be brown on the neck Because I didn't use it. It was an introduction on a travel site called a relaxing Hollywood twin room, but Hollywood twins I stayed so far were heaven and earth. When I went to the rental bath of the open-air bath, the socks I wore were wet, and the floor was from the top? It was leaking. I went to the open-air bath again the next morning, but at that time the floor was wet to think that the dressing room was flooded. The hot water in the bath is a white good hot water with a sulfur smell. The rental open-air bath is a good size even if two people enter together. Shampoo and rinse are a system to borrow and return at check-out, but I think it's good to put two kinds of baths in the bath. In fact, it was in the bathroom, and it had a heavy bottle 3 book, and the up and down of the very steep stairs was troublesome, and it was inconvenient to return only when checking out. In addition, the outlet of the dressing room is attached with gum tape and cannot be used for dryers. It was a complaint of the ”inn of the open-air bath” inn site, but it was said that 3 one rental bath can only be used 2 one. Even if you stay in a couple and come by two people, some people use it alone, so I thought I should use 3 (after all, only one). There was a small rest corner, with games, manga and instant coffee machines. When I went to drink coffee the next morning, there was a paper written as ”end of use”. Because the game machine fixtures remained scattered on the table, it may be a good inn for people who like games. Dinner was a western menu of courses at the restaurant. This was a satisfying content. The dessert was delicious. I expected breakfast for western food, but it was sausage and scrambled eggs that I was eating at my own house. There were only 2 super petit pans and I was disappointed with a small amount of breakfast. Also went to the breakfast restaurant at 8 o'clock, the start was 8 o'clock 10 minutes and I just waited at a table with nothing. At least I could put water or juice first. I was angry as I didn't complain about anything until now. There were a few customers waiting in this state, but there was no word that I had to wait. Also, as I drank the soup, I thought it was not cold soup, so I thought it was just wet. Although it should be possible to use the card, it was said that it was not possible to use the creditor's instrument or failure at the time of the adjustment, and it was paid in cash. Because I didn't feel hospitality at all and the inn that is not the same as the usual inn, the cost performance is very bad considering the 々 aspect. Moreover, this reflection point was that the word of mouth of the inn introduction site was only good, so I believed it. I should have read it firmly except for word of mouth and inn site. No recomendition.

When I was looking for an inn with an open-air bath in a guest room that children could enjoy, I found this inn. I chose a family room. Relatively reasonable in terms of price. My plan has a separate bath tax and does not include alcoholic beverage service at dinner, so I pay later, but if you drink more than two cups, I wonder if you should pay 1000 yen for all-you-can-drink. As for the room, there is an open-air bath in the guest room at the end of the window of the room with playset, and I think that even small children can enter the open-air while playing there. The open-air bath itself is of a reasonable size, and there is no problem with two adults. Although it is not a natural free-flowing water, this is a sulfur spring, a hot spring with a good sulfur scent, and it was a good hot spring without even hitting the hot water. Perhaps because the open air is nearby, when I looked at the walls, there was a whitish spider with long and slender feet that I couldn't understand unless I looked closely, but when I entered dead leaves in the bathtub etc. To remove I exterminated it outside with a net. My wife hates insects, so I checked it while it was bright, but I didn't see any other insects that I was worried about. I think there was no problem because my wife was not particularly noisy when taking a bath. Is it attractive if I turn on the lights in the middle of the night? I thought, but it was good that the insects came and it didn't make a noise. As for the room, it is a little unsatisfactory for adults to relax. The children were playing with satisfaction at the playset facility, so it was good to have time to relax without touching the children. The difficulty of this room is that there are corners and steps here and there. There are traces of something like a corner cushion attached, but there are parts that are peeled off. The wooden frame surrounding the place where the futon is laid on the first floor of the bunk bed is really a little step, but I think it's better not to be a wooden frame, and if that's the case, chamfer, I wish I had a corner. The staircase staircase storage space of the bunk bed is also square, and I don't think it will be rampant here, but I think it is necessary to be careful for children around 0 ~ 3 years old. The staff 々 was very good with a soft feeling. Also, the family room is on the 2nd floor, but since there is no elevator, it is difficult to unload at home where children's luggage tends to increase. You may be able to tell the staff, but it's difficult to get crowded at check-in. That's how it feels.

Right next to lake Ashi the hotel boasts very good views and location. The food we had was very good but we were part of a coach trip so the menu was tailored to us. The breakfast was however a delightful surprise as it was better than expected. The staff were as always for Japan very pleasant and accommodating. The morning presented us with great pictures of Lake Ashi with Mount Fuji in the background.

The word of mouth of the famous travel site was good, the point of the site was stored, and it was sold at the sale price, so I decided here without much investigation. In a word, it is an inn operated by foreigners. The administrator is Japanese, but I only saw foreigners, so I thought the operation was a foreigner. Cleaning rooms and baths, replenishment of room fixtures, etc.々, I felt that I didn't reach the level that Japanese people expected. The location is not the Kora station, which can be said to be a relay point, and 2 station is the nearest station from there, but about 5 − 10 minutes walk from the station. It is close enough to walk. However, in front of the inn, there are many steep slopes, and there are many stairs in the inn, and it is better to avoid those who are weak in foot and waist. The meal is not luxurious. Because it was a stay at a sale price, there is no dissatisfaction with the meal that matches the price. It was good to be able to choose the breakfast time at 8:30 or 8:30. In the morning and evening, it was a private room on the main building 2 floor. The digging type, the air conditioner is incorporated into the wall instead of the ceiling, and the height is the waist position, so the person sitting in the back is hit by the cold wind on the waist. Cold or pregnant women should bring scrolls so that they do not cool their waist. The bath used the main building both the night of the arrival and the morning of the departure day (because it was troublesome to leave the building and cross the road once I thought that the annex Sakura Tei would like to use it). I never met a person. After all, is there a lot of people using the annex? I was reading a bad comment about the bathtub, so I just took a shower and didn't catch the bathtub. Surely the hot water was not overflowing from the bathtub. There are towels 2 types, yukata, toothbrush, razor, and com in the room. It was written that it would cost if you wanted to add it. This is the first time I have stayed in this place, is this the present age? There are washbasins, dryers, hand wash, mini refrigerator, hot water drinks and cups in the room. I asked for replenishment because the coffee and tea pack were replenished and forgotten. The vending machine water is 230 yen, and canned beer 350ml is 350 yen.

There is a description that it is a cloudy hot spring of Yunohana, so I went to the hot spring. Only the open-air bath was a hot spring. The open-air bath is small and the depth of the hot water is too shallow to 20 cm? It was only about half of the calf, and it was like a baby pool. It seems that the people around me also made a complaint, and they filled me with hot water in the morning, but this time it was not cloudy water, but transparent and just added hot water. Where is the cloudy water around me? Yunohana? I was complaining. The people at the front desk were not very friendly and I was too disappointed because the price was high in Hakone. Like other reviews, the amount of Yunohana kaiseki was small and unsatisfactory, but the almond tofu was very delicious. Also, the correspondence of the customer service staff who carried the food was great. However, I thought I would refrain from going in the future because the hot springs were bad.

It really feels like living in my own home. The grandparents at the hotel are very kind. Although the communication is a bit difficult, the room has a small living room and bedroom. The space is quite large. Breakfast and dinner are also amazing. The location is also very close to the bus station. In short, the C P value is very high.

Stayed at Nanfeng Village for 4 nights and objectively evaluated this hot spring hotel: 1, reservations, the type of room is very dizzy, the annex has a room type and foreign style with a toilet and shower 38 flat. 2, transportation, the hotel does not have a special car transfer, to the soup to sit down 100 yen bus 10 minutes to the end of the station, the bus stop is 100m away from the soup station is easy to find. 3, the room, the view is very good, because the old house has a little taste, live for a long time and did not feel, there is no problem with the shower dressing room toilet is too small, I am one meter eight girlfriends one meter seven two enough. Don't live on the first floor, the first floor is a bit close to the parking lot. 4, accommodation, you can hear the sound of small river water at night, I still enjoy it, after all, the city has lived for a long time, the window is behind the style and there are curtains, tatami can also make a bed, I sleep tatami for four nights very comfortable. 5, hot springs, few people, I went on May 11, two hot springs men and women time period rotation, hot springs are not big, soaked for four nights each time to go to two people, people are really very comfortable, one person lying in a pool Blowing the evening breeze, my girlfriend said that there are a lot of people there, and there are aunts who are in groups of three. 6, meals (with photos), breakfast buffet dinner package, the taste is very good, breakfast buffet more than a dozen dishes each dish tastes very good Japanese-style Western style, dinner size is large, taste can also be, every night optional It's different. If the request is Michelin standard, it won't be reached here. 7, overall, staying down feels good, cost is also very high, if you come to the hot springs do not require luxury, the standard is around 1500, I strongly recommend to try Nanfengzhuang.
