The hotel is old, and the sheets weren't the freshest. However, it's conveniently located in the old quarter, and the breakfasts are good. But there's a huge 'BUT' – I booked a room with a balcony, arrived late in the evening, and there were issues with my room, so I ended up being put in a standard room…

Great location, very convenient for getting around. The staff were super nice. The hotel could use some renovations in certain areas. What really needs improvement are the towels – they are ancient, more gray than white now. Please replace them! The pillows and mattress could also do with an upgrade. If these small things were changed, everything would be perfect.

The hotel overbooked and we had to move out on the last night. Even though they offered us another hotel for the last night but we are not satisfied with the system and arrangement. Bringing my 84 years old father we had to pack and move has caused such inconveniences. Overall we are not happy about it as it has disrupted our holidays.

Decent mid range hotel with free laundry. A good value for money, good location with a BBQ just downstairs which is open till early morning ensuring late night arrivals have something to eat.

This is a return trip after 3-4 years. Arrived late at about 1am but staff was still very understanding. Checked out early at 5am and was handed a simple pre-packed breakfast. Thought it was very thoughtful of the staff.

The hotel is pleasant for its price. Good breakfasts, not a buffet, but there is enough of everything: egg dishes, pancakes, sausages, rice, vegetables, fruits and some pastries. Our room was not the most comfortable, it was on the last 9th floor, and the elevator only reached the 7th floor. The roof was making a lot of noise on the roof. The location of the hotel is good - there are many cafes around, but it is very noisy at night. Special thanks to the hotel staff, the suitcases were delivered to the room itself, all issues were resolved promptly. Overall, the hotel is good for its price.

Great hotel, everything is clean and tidy, definitely worth the money.

The room and location was central to old quarter sights and food including the night market. Breakfast was good and has the basics for a complete meal.  The only major problem we had was the water issue where there was a problem with water supply the first night we stayed there where there was no water supply around 10pm due to some water pump issue and could not shower or even use the toilet until close to 1pm. There were no alternative solutions provided to us and it was quite stressful. The water problem occurred the morning we checked out after two nights stay as the water pump was not full and had to shower with dripping water instead of proper full jet or water. Plus no hot water and had to wait for 1 hour for decent water supply. Once is bad enough but to have it occurred twice is not acceptable as would expect any decent hotel to have basic water supply.  Would not recommend this hotel on this basis alone. The staff at the counter was extremely helpful to provide advice and suggestions and really very friendly and that is a great plus plus point.

We booked and paid for three suite rooms with balconies, but only got two. The hotel feels old and cramped. We expected a proper 4-star experience but left disappointed—many 3-star hotels offer better value in both price and quality. Beds were rock-hard, towels had lost their whiteness, and each room only had two pillows. Rooms were also smaller than pictured in the booking app. Location is great, but our rooms were only accessible via elevator from the 3rd floor. Breakfast had limited choices. On the plus side, the rooms were cleaned regularly. The best part was the staff—especially Jerry, who let us check in early for free during heavy rain. We had planned to leave our bags at the tiny lobby (only a two-seater sofa) and explore, but his gesture convinced us to stay. Sadly, the next day the manager said we had to pay for the early check-in, which felt like a scam 😂. We still tipped Jerry generously for his kindness. They also helped us arrange airport transport, and we kept asking for the receipt (sorry, staff!) because we didn’t want a repeat of the early check-in issue. Note: If you want a luxury stay, this isn’t the place. Our 4-star hotel in Sapa was far better—and cheaper too.

I had an awesome stay at Maya hotel. The location was great and the hotel was clean. The hotel staff were exceptional. They were very attentive and so friendly. They helped me with local attractions and provided excellent service.

Whilst staying at the Maya , the staff was very friendly and very helpful. The room was very clean and just how it said it was when booking . I will definitely be staying here again ☺️

I would like to recommend my friend and my family if they go to Vietnam to stay here because the best service form the staff by hospitality and the room so clean and beautiful style felt warm like I stay at home ❤️❤️❤️

Small, damp room with no window, no place to hang clothes, and very inconvenient to get around. I even saw a centipede — never coming back!
