LyLo Queenstown locates at good location! There are many famous restaurants nearby there. You just take around 5 mins to go to Ferg family by walking. I think the kitchen is quite small because have users a lot but everything is clean, also bathroom.

Cannot believe how good this place was!... We ended up getting a private 8 bed dorm for 6 of us, the room itself got a little hot, but the staff quickly brought us a fan which helped massively. Toilets and showers were so well kept and the lounge, washing machines and drying rooms made the whole process so easy. Kitchen is absolutely huge and perfect if you plan to prepare you food there. But the staff were something else, unbelievably friendly and one lady even lent me 50c out of her own purse for the lockers, completely didn't need to do it but wanted to help me out!... An absolute gem! I will DEFINITELY be staying here again in future.

This is my second visit here which speaks for itself I guess. I spent five days here over the Christmas holidays when the place was very quiet, which suited me...but is probably not ideal for a standard review. It is however perfectly situated, central without the noise and minutes away for food shopping. There are plenty of toilet/shower areas and two reasonable size kitchens with a nice outdoor balcony to relax on. The only slight draw back for me are the dorms are somewhat ”cosy”, and the kitchen is not the best stocked in the world. Other than that it's a good place to be...and Steph and the team do a good job of keeping the place ship shape. Recommended

We stayed here two separete nights. We booked in advance and we were nervous to book the same hostel in case we didn't like it, but fortunately we did and it didn't dissapoint at all. The recepcionist was nice and welcoming to us, everything is clean, it has several kitchens and the common room is like a huge family room with sofa, covers, TV and board games all super cozy which is the perfect enviroment to NOT have a heart attack when you find out that the borders where you are connecting home are all closed and probably you'll have to stay in NZ forever (not a bad thing tho, but I was pretty poor at that point, lol). Anyway, the people is nice, the dorm room has its own bathroom inside which is a massive YES! The lockers are huge plus there are tiny lockers with outlets inside to put your devices (genious). The bunks are hardly bunks because they are pretty solid wood-made so even if your bunkmate moves a lot you won't notice. It has a courtine which is awesome for privacy, its own night light and outlets by your bed. Maybe the only downside is that the parking lot is really (really) tiny, which makes it very difficult to maneuver, specially when you have never driven in the left before, jaja. Other than that, awesome stay, if I ever go back to Queenstown, definetely would stay here again! :)

I couldn't fault Absoloot. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Queenstown. Room was large enough, beds comfortable and bathrooms/toilets clean. The breakfast room/kitchen is open and airy. Ideal scenery over a slow breakfast. The lounge room was filled with bean bags, books and a large TV screen. I slept there on my last night after putting up with two nights sharing my room with a loud snorer.

We fell into this hostel by chance since our campervan broke down in Queenstown and we needed accommodation to spend the night. And we are very happy with the luck we had to find this place. Very close to the center, about 5 minutes walk, very clean and safe, with good facilities. They even had a small Spa that we did not enjoy due to lack of time, but if we returned to this city we would definitely repeat.

The room is very adequate, the room has a bathroom, dry and wet separation. There is a public outside, very convenient and will not affect others.
The environment is clean and tidy, and the roommates are very nice.
The bed is very soft. Those who are used to hard beds may not be able to accept it. There is also a small space above the bed, and people sitting on the bed can't get up straight.
The kitchen and lounge in the common areas are very nice

A great experience for a female solo traveler. I
Pros
I shared a female dorm with three other women and had a great time getting to know those coming in and out. The shared bathroom was always clean (cleaned every day).
The communal kitchen is large and well-organised. You can make use of condiments that get left behind. As it was still cold, there are always fires burning both in reception and the common room. It makes the atmosphere very cosy.
The best service I got was from their information desk, which is located in the reception area. As I didn't have a credit card and businesses like Snowbiz in town don't accept cash, I was able to pay for ski passes and rental by making a booking at the service desk (they have a card machine and also accept cash).
Cons
This side of the hostel where my room was located, just experiences a lot of noise, as there are bars down below, despite the sliding door being sound-proof. Not all the reading lamps for each bed work and also need to be fixed. The shower leaked a lot of water, as the glass door doesn't properly close.
Overall though, a great stay and value for money. You do save on accommodation, as QT is an expensive town to visit.

Perfect
Wow. Wow. Wow. I felt like a queen! This house has the most perfect view of Queenstown and the lake and i was in the incredible room with a bay window and HUGE bathroom. It was heavenly! I love boutique hotels but this was a few levels up! The food was delicious and breakfast choices were always new and fresh. I have a bad stomach and new zelanad food is so clean i could eat everything they served - through out all of new zealand too! c’mon beer and pizza! ha! back on topic - Hulbert houseis a fantastic and memorable place to stay! have them help you with tours and the outrageous spa where you take a hot bath with treats while seemingly hanging off the side of a steep mountain! I’ll never forget that either! Hulbert house - the room with the bay window overlooking queenstown is Honeymoon worthy! ha!
MMehwish ANice motel. Great views of the Lake and Remarkables from our room on the ground floor. Late check in was well-organised even without a reception in attendance. The room was well equipped with a mini kitchen (including a stove) and our issues were promptly handled by the reception/manager. Two drawbacks in the room: no safe and no telephone. Morgan (manager) was kind to help us out with keeping our valuables safe with her. On the latter, one had to run to the reception or call the reception during office hours through personal phones which I found a bit odd. On Day 1, we found our shower drain blocked but that was handled by Morgan the same day. By the time we were leaving, the drain was blocking again so hope the room service team will clear it for the next occupancy. We were confused with the room service provisioning though - some days we would receive a full service, some days basic - which is fine with us but a bit more communication would have been helpful. There is a self serve laundry which only takes coins so you’d need to have cash on hand that the reception will gladly barter for coins. The location is good, closer to the town centre and with a view. Public transport is also accessible. For people with physical limitations (which are rare QT visitors unlike us), the location is a bit challenging. All in all, a good place to stay in QT.
RRaecgal68Handy location to the town Centre in Queenstown. The Lonond is just 250m walk to the lake front. We found the beds to be very Comfortable. As it was the middle of winter, the room was nice and warm when we arrived. They have a good sustainability policy, the staff were helpful and friendly.
YYOUJUNThe upper floor of the checkin office is a large suite with two rooms with a total of six beds, but it is charged according to the number of people. The kitchenware is relatively simple and not suitable for Chinese food. It is a 10-minute walk from the town and parking is free. It is a cost-effective choice in Queenstown.
GGuest UserWe stayed 3 nights and appreciated the space as I had a bedroom and my son had bed in the lounge but still lots of space and a sofa and lots of cupboard space. Small kitchen space as part of room but we only needed the kettle and fridge. Bathroom all good with nice towels and heater and heated towel rail and fan if you needed it . About a 10 min walk to centre but it is on the hill ! We were disappointed to arrive and not be able to check in till 3.30 as they were understaffed and behind on cleaning ( but appreciate how tough it is to find people as we saw in QT with many place’s advertising)) It was just a bit annoying as we were going on a boat trip and had had a long drive. They do not service rooms either - didn’t bother us but did have to remember to get milk and sugar top ups. Laundry available to use. Staff friendly and helpful and apologetic wi yv situation. The biggest downside is that the rooms back onto a very busy road so pretty noisy !
The beds were uncomfortable. Booked a room with double and 2 single beds for 3 people. Travelling with relative who is over 6 feet tall. No way he was able to sleep in the unusually short single beds. The lighting in the rooms is inadequate; the curtains had to be closed for privacy from people going past the room. The noise through the ceiling from the second floor was unbearable. The main sliding doors in the unit above vibrated the door in our unit when it was opened and closed. Housekeeping is simply a change of towels and replacement of coffee sachets. No cleaning. Floor was dirty when we moved in. Parking bays are not marked and seem to be insufficient for the number of units . The ”overflow parking” is at the side of the building..... very unsecured. Area around guest laundry full of litter and quite an eyesore. On opening our back door, I found a bowl of water with a number of cigarette buts floating in it. On the plus, the bathroom is good. The kitchen is acceptable but the display on the stove top is missing segments meaning it cannot be safely used (temperature digits not complete; no idea what temp is set to). Fridge makes a terrible noise when starting and stopping. Washing machines are free. There are road works going on at the front of the property which makes it dangerous and difficult to enter or leave the property. Apparently this has been going on for months. If this is the case, it should be advised in the property advertising. The roadworks jumble spoils the views of the lake and mountains. I cannot understand how anyone could give this place more than poor rating, let alone the place be advertised as 4 stars.
We stayed for a night here (after 3 days' stay in another hotel nearby) during Christmas/ New Year peak season when hotel rooms in Queenstown are so demanding and we were nearly unable to book a room. So when we noticed vacancy at this lodge, we were so delighted and booked without hesitation. One needs to walk a bit uphill from the city centre for 15 mins. I find the location fine though. There is a bus stop just in the opposite side of the road where we got a public bus to the airport (15-20 mins ride). Our rooms are not facing the lake but right next to the road. We were satisfied as the rooms were clean functional and very spacious. For eating, seems there are no restaurants nearby although one may go to the hotels around for meals or otherwise make own meals with the microwave or toaster in the room.
GGuest UserApartment was a good size providing plenty of space. Bed was very comfortable providing a good nights sleep. Having a jetted tub was great for soaking in the evening after busy days. The kitchen enabled us to prepare our own meals as required. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Location is excellent & is an easy walk to downtown (there is a short, sharp hill in between, but nothing overly taxing). Public transport stops around the corner, which makes transferring a breeze. our room was at the back of the hotel & was therefore pretty quiet (no real traffic noise). Overall, good value for money
GGuest UserThe motel advised that due to the presence of scaffolding, the view from the windows is obscured. That's a minor problem and not really a problem. What the motel did not make any mention of when both booking and checking in, was the fact that major renovations are taking place. This meant that at one point during my stay I returnwd to my room during the day hoping to relax, but discovered that all tne furniture and my belongings had been moved so that drilling, plastering and painting could be carried out. Had I not requested a new room, they would have expected me to sleep in the room with wet plaster or paint. Furthemore, the electric door lock kept failing, leaving me locked out of my room on multiple occasions. The customer service is awful and the planning of major work when guests are staying is thoughtless. The noise of tools and workers is very disruptive.
GGuest UserThe location is very good, the real lake view room. From the outside, the building looks a bit dated, but the rooms are typical motels with clean beds. That is, the bathroom window of our room is connected to the corridor, if someone in the corridor can hear it better. There is a door between the other two standard rooms, so the sound insulation effect is average.
