This is a nice old hotel that reminds you of yesteryear. The front desk folks were awesome, as well as the bar staff. The location is great if you’re okay with a short walk to the Pirates ballpark or Market Square. Restaurants just outside the door. My issue with this place which is why I rated it average was the maid service….or better stated, the lack of maid service. This is not one of those places where they only come by every other day. Check in is day 1, on day 2 I get to my room that evening and it was not made up, called the desk and they offered to send someone up and said they comp some Bonvoy points. I was tired and passed on anyone coming up that hour. She said she leave a note for housekeeping. Day 3, again no room service…called and talked with the same lady, she said she comp some more points, and ensure the housekeeping manager was made aware. Again I was too tired for anyone to come up that evening. Day 4 yup you guessed it, no room service…once again I was told I’d get comped a few more points. And thus time the on duty housekeeping manager and two housekeepers came by…I needed towels and smelly trash removed. The manager said she wanted to make it up to me and said she’d send up a couple beers. No beer showed up, another empty promise. In total I was comped just 500 points. I expected at least 500 for each occurrence. I’m going to notify Marriott of my disappointment. Human error happens, it how the establishment responds and resolves those errors that really count.

Send your child to the University of Pittsburgh, Johnstown, and choose this hotel. After more than half a month of experience, I feel very good, and at the same time, I also feel the friendliness and kindness of the American people to the Chinese people. Johnstown is not so convenient to get around by car. The hotel service staff kindly arranged for their colleagues' cars and said there was no charge. How can this be OK? I will still express my heart and arrange the vehicle. I am very grateful to my guests in this foreign country. Next time I come, I will still choose to stay in the hotel again.

I was surprised at how much I liked this hotel. Our room was great. It was spacious clean and comfortable. The front desk was pleasant and helpful. Honestly the person working the front desk was beyond cheerful despite being very busy. Clearly some kind of event was happening. Parking was also a breeze. Breakfast was standard hotel fair but good nonetheless. We sat on the patio for breakfast which was nice. The location was great. I will definitely stay here next time we are in Pittsburgh.

My wife, adult son, and I booked a week at this hotel. We chose this hotel based on the location for events we were to attend in the strip area. We booked a king with a fold out sofa and the room had enough room for the 3 of us. The check in is one flight up from street level which is something we are not used to. We figured it out and it wasn't a problem after that. Upon check in we were informed we were allowed one maid service for the week. We picked Saturday thinking this would work as it was half way through our stay but the front desk person informed us they don't do maid service on the week end (not true because we saw cleaning staff working on the week end cleaning rooms). We picked Friday and upon returning on Friday found that the room was not serviced. We pilled our used towels in the corner of the bathroom thinking we would have fresh with the maid service. My wife had to go down to the front desk and to secure fresh towels. We had one soap bar and two small bottles of shampoo for the week. We were able to secure more from one of the maid carts in the hall with the maids approval. Our bathroom shower had a half glass partition with the other half open. The shower leaked significantly and we had to mop up the water every time we showered from the floor so we wouldn't fall. The hotel advertises valet parking. Not true. We could tell the covered garage was set up for valet parking as they could park cars end to end but when they did away with the valet they lost at least half of their covered parking spots. The upper level is accessed from the back alley with a very tight turning radius. Really tight. There is an uncovered overflow lot across the street but unloading in a rain storm sucks. We were charged $19 per day plus tax for the parking. The Steelers were in town that Sunday so the hotel was pretty crowded for the weekend (breakfast and parking). Breakfast was included with our stay and consisted of frozen eggs, potatoes, and sausage every day which was heated in the oven and brought out in large pans. The eggs were like rubber, the potatoes bland, but the sausage was ok. There are muffins, bagels, fruits, and oatmeal in a big pot. My friend who was staying here also in a separate room said the oatmeal tasted like paste. She said her shower also leaked. We were awakened at 4:20 a.m. on Wednesday of our stay by the fire alarm. We were told to vacate the hotel asap. Scary to say the least but it was just heavy smoke from a room the floor below us from a pot of food left on the stover overnight. I commend the hotel for having this alarm system and evacuation plan in place. The next morning we were awakened at 0700 by jack hammers outside on the street below. Really, 0700? Not much of a view either. The hotel has a lot of things going for it...great location, friendly and helpful staff, clean public areas...but needs improve a number of areas and not cut corners at the expense of their guest.

In a moderately priced hotel, the bed is not made and cleaned every day. If you want new towels or sanitary products the next day, you can ask the front desk and they will be delivered in time. The room is big enough, the sound insulation is not good, the advantage is that it is close to Pittsburgh. There are discounts for accommodation and breakfast, but there is no breakfast at the nearby Starbucks. If there is not enough parking space at the entrance, you can park in the opposite parking lot, and the hotel will pay for it for you. All in all it was good, no inconvenience.

I need a lost and found email address in the hotel. When I found something missing, I called the hotel several times. A lady left her email address, but after sending it twice, there has been no reply. I hope they can provide an official email address. I want to try and see if I can find it.

We asked for city view and our room was on the 20th floor. Gorgeous view! The room was clean, everything we needed was provided at a reasonable price. The pool on the 4th floor with a view of the iconic yellow bridge was fantastic. Every staff member we spoke with was friendly and helpful, with great pointers for restaurants. The next time we go to Pittsburgh we will be staying here again.

This is the first and only time I've written a review of a Marriott. I'm doing so because it was that bad. Literally, THAT BAD. To start, I am a Platinum member for many years. So I am very used to very good service at Marriotts. Today, it was the exact opposite. This weekend, Taylor Swift was in town. This made things busy at this hotel. And hectic. And full. And also, most notably, not a surprise. Taylor has been coming to Pittsburgh for almost a year. However, this large hotel seemed confused, confounded and dazed at the number of paid guests who showed up today. They left a very inexperienced ”supervisor” in charge of the hotel and the result was a cluster. This was likely their busiest weekend of 2023 so an actual manager and extra housekeeping staff would have been appropriate. Neither were in place. We tried to check in at 230, which as a Platinum member would never be an issue anywhere. Here, they said they had no rooms. They suggested we get ready for the concert in the lobby bathroom. Yes, of the hotel. So, we did that. We did it with no apology, no emotion, literally zero human communication that recognized what a mess this was. We paid for a suite, but instead got ready in a communal bathroom with hundreds of other misplaced guests. At midnight, we returned to the hotel and tried to get a key for the second room we had already paid for. We were yelled at to get in the regular line, as no Marriott Elite service was available. When I asked what the rate would be since they were checking us in well after midnight, ”Chris” sneered and said he wasn't ”in the mood” as he had already been yelled at today. I'm sure he had been, and that part stinks for him. At 1AM, there was still a line out the door of people trying to check in for rooms they paid for starting hours ago. This hotel is to be avoided. Go to one of the hotels across the street.

GGuest UserLoved this place. I usually do enjoy Kimptons but not all of them nail the right combination of informality/boutiquishness and luxury. This one does. Check in staff was friendly and they had preupgraded me based on my IHG status and room request. The room was spacious, tasteful and beautifully appointed, with high end bed and bedding, fun and functional furniture and lighting and an absolutely fabulous bathroom with a freestanding tub and massive shower enclosure. Could have lived in that bathroom. The evening social hour featured a nice selection of wines and beers and a really tasty appetizer from the bar. Breakfast at the Commoner was well presented though I personally would like to see the addition of a few vegetarian items. Another positive of this Kimpton (for me) was that I asked to be on a dog-free floor and as far as I could tell I was. I never understood how allowing pets made sense in this caliber of hotel. Two minor suggestions I can think of are to supply a water bottle or two in the room (tap water came out warm and didn't taste great) and don't put decorative pillows on the beds adjacent to the sleeping pillows (unhygienic since they never get washed), Still, overall a great stay and a property I'd recommend to others.

WWENLUThe location is particularly good. If the weather is good, I feel that I can walk to most places. I can go straight to lyft and get cheap. Pittsburgh has bad traffic. In this place, it is more worry-free to drive others than to drive. I feel that the service is very good, but the first The shortcoming of the tripartite reservation is that a lot of services can't be enjoyed. If you apply for a member directly, you will have more free services. If you go online, you only have free low-speed traffic. If you are at high speed, you can reduce 10 knives, which is 5 knives per day. Not expensive! The lobby is really good! There is a free apple at the front desk and a variety of fruit soaking water every day! The room is a bit small, the air conditioning is very good, the water pressure is also very good, the bed is very comfortable! But Ctrip is really cheap, and the US website has a tax of more than 10%!

JJoshua CoitThis place was extremely clean, had many amenities such as complimentary designer toiletries, tea bottle opener, wine glasses and of course the clawfoot bathtub. One would say it was easy to forget this unit even had a rain tile large walk in shower. The only down side I would say, the hotel does not have a front desk so everything is all virtual, a little different than the traditional check in, however if I would have read prior to booking the process would have been extremely painless. The supper staff over the phone were tremendously helpful.

GGuest UserDuring our stay at Hyatt House, we unfortunately had a negative experience with regards to the cleanliness of the facilities. We would not recommend this hotel and will not be staying here in the future. Though the staff was as helpful as possible, we were re-assigned rooms and were met with the same sub-par conditions. Our first room seemed to not have received a cleaning following the previous stay. The floor and surface areas were dirty, the floor was sticky with crumbs, dust and other debris. The couch had a significant blood stain on one of the cushions and upon further review we found additional staining all over. The front desk associates were helpful in getting us reassigned to a new room. Here, we were met with continued concerns on the cleanliness of the rooms. Though we certainly understand these rooms are typically for longer stays, we were really disappointed and would not recommend staying here.

5525ileneaA convenient location to the downtown attractions such as PNC Park and the football stadium. We were in a huge apartment size suite. It’s clean. There were nice dispensers of Dove brand soap, lotion, shampoos, conditioner and body wash. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast is ok. Nothing great. The traffic flow at the buffet table is not well planned. No one was wiping tables clean. They run out of napkins, forks, half and half. They are not replenished quickly. Later in the day the complimentary coffee station was not refilled promptly. The Coffee Mate pump dispenser is not a great or sanitary option. Other hotel chains offer the individual creamer containers. But all in all the place is fine.

TTimothy POverall, it was an enjoyable stay. When we got to our room we discovered the air conditioner wasn't working and we were missing a TV remote, but two employees arrived within the hour and handled both. Our space (a two room suite with a king bed) was suitable for our needs. We recently stayed in a king room in NYC and by comparison this place was practically a house. The place was clean, no noticeable stains, dirt, dust, etc. The kitchen was adequately stocked with plates, cups, and cookware, and the fridge was ice cold. I was surprised to find relatively close parking in the private lot despite being there during three Pirates' games and Anthrocon. The breakfast was decent, and the staff was friendly. My small list of nitpicks: - I wish the kitchen had a toaster and an actual coffee pot (or a Keurig) - The TVs had just a few streaming options (Netflix, Prime, and Pluto) and either I didn't know how to cast or the TVs didn't have that option. - While they did thankfully fix our A/C, it did struggle to maintain an admittedly cold setting (in its defense it was in the 90s the entire time) - Maybe it was just our fridge, but the ice machine didn't work in the freezer and we used the one ice cube tray quickly each day (because, again, over 90 out).

GGuest UserThis Holiday Inn Express is a dump, every other Holiday Inn Express has been great except this one and apparently management oversight doesn't care as this is another very similar review from others that did not care much for this hotel. Filthy, had to change rooms due to the mold and mildew in the bathroom shower and the sewer odor on the floor. New room on a different floor was slightly cleaner until you see all the hair on the bathroom floor and no fan, after a 1 hot shower, the ceiling is dripping with water. Bought clorex wipes to clean the area. Found a dirty shirt from a previous guest on the floor underneath an ottoman. $22/night for parking is a ripoff and the gate to get into the lot is broke. The entry door in the back near the parking lot, that is supposed to open with your room card, is propped open night and day, must be broke and can be a security issue. Stairwell had trash in it. Couldn't wait to be out of the room.

GGuest UserI stayed here for like 2 weeks out of nowhere they decided to ban me. Probably because I kept staying on points and calling customer service to make them do their jobs ha. When I asked the reason I was ban she said my kids were rubbing the halls in the middle of the night which was a whole lie, my kids were in bed af 9/10 every night because they had school. But don’t come here It’s unkept and gross and they act like your parents telling you that you can’t have guests in your room and they make sure whoever is on the reservation is all that’s allowed in the pool! Not worth the money you pay. They need to be free.
