"The location is very good.
A small tip: in case you might not notice, if you are going by walking, not driving, using Google Maps directly may take you the long way around. If you contact the host, they will show you the back entrance, which takes you straight to the Baščaršija center in just 3 minutes.
The place was clean, comfortable, and very warm. We were very satisfied throughout our stay. The hosts were also kind-hearted and lovely people. I’m very happy to have met them.

"We needed to stay somewhere close to the Sarajevo train station, and Hotel Grand is perfectly located just a short walk away (5-10 minutes). The staff was friendly and even prepared a small breakfast bag for us since we were leaving so early. However the room itself was rather bare-bones, and the shower drain was clearly clogged leading to a lot of flooding. There were exposed electrical wiring in the room and the hallways smelled a bit like an ashtray. Was okay for the money, but not really recommended."

"No matter the room or the public bathroom, the hygiene is very clean. The location of the hotel is also very good, just in front of the Pigeon Square. There are many trams stopping in front of the door. Walk about 200 meters is the starting point of the 31E bus, you can take this bus to the East Sarajevo bus station, there is a long-distance bus to Belgrade. The guy at the front desk was a bit displeased and impatient about my poor English, but he still patiently slowed down every sentence and repeated it twice to make sure I understood? ."

"The service was absolutely terrible. The travel agency booked our stay the night before, and we wanted to stay an extra night, so we booked another through Ctrip. On the day we checked in, we asked to extend our stay for another day. They told us to come back to the front desk the next day and try again with our credit card, which would most likely be possible. But when we arrived at the front desk at 10 a.m. the next morning, we were told we couldn't extend our stay. We had to move rooms and have to accept a 12:00 PM check-in and a 3:00 PM check-out. The reason was that a group had booked two weeks prior, and they had given us their room number. What kind of excuse is that? I've never heard of that. I was hoping for a convenient extension, but we ended up having to change hotels. After a long argument, they said they'd leave our luggage in the room and move us to the new room once it was ready. I reluctantly accepted that. Also, my friend's room was infested with giant spiders—more than one—and the staff were using paper cups to catch them. I strongly don't recommend this hotel. You should definitely try a better one."

"The hostel's location is excellent, right next to the main cathedral, with all the best sights within walking distance. There's also a tram stop nearby. Everything is very convenient, but the only drawback is the unqualified staff. I also encountered a common problem in Bosnia: if you book a hotel and pay by card (Russian), you might be asked to pay in cash upon check-in. I had to spend a long time proving that I had paid for my accommodation. Be prepared for this, or book without payment and pay on arrival."

"The hotel is in a good location, in the center of Sarajevo, with the old street just outside. The room has a view of the old city.
The front desk service attitude is good and the check-in is fast. I asked for a standard room and was given a double bed room, but the beds can be separated, one into two. The room is large and quiet in the bustling city. The bathroom is separated into dry and wet areas and is clean. Overall good and recommended."

GGuest UserSpacious: This two-bedroom, one-living room apartment is incredibly spacious, with a queen-size bed and two bunk beds, accommodating at least six adults. It's perfect for a family or a group of friends.
Cleanliness: Very clean, just like the promotional photos!
Location: Very convenient, within walking distance of landmarks like the Sacred Heart Cathedral and the Eternal Flame.
Host: A nice, friendly guy. He can help with taxi reservations.

The hotel location is perfect: not only inside Baščaršija with its cafes and restaurants, but next to a supermarket and a drugstore. The hotel has its own parking lots located in a one-minute walk. We had a room on the third floor (yes, there's an elevator) with a nice view on the Gazi Husrev-beg mosque. The room was clean, quiet, and had everything we needed. The breakfast was good, a couple of dishes changed every day. The hotel is highly recommended.

AAnonymous UserMy friend and I stayed for two nights in Sarajevo, and this Residence Inn offered excellent value for money.
The cleanliness deserves full marks; both the room and common areas were spotless, which made our stay very comfortable. The one-bedroom suite was spacious, and with two single beds plus a sofa bed, it was enough for the four of us. Although the facilities weren't brand new, they were practical and complete.
The hotel's location was the most convenient aspect. We could walk to the Old Town and other main attractions, saving us the hassle of taking taxis. There were also two good local restaurants nearby, making it very easy to find food in the evening.
What surprised me was seeing quite a few Asian guests here, which suggests it's a popular choice with a good reputation. The overall environment and service were satisfying, making it suitable for both group travels with friends and solo trips. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Sarajevo!

AAToiStayed here for one night before an early morning flight and had a really lovely stay. I honestly didn’t realize until I arrived that Hotel Baškuća had been featured in TIME’s World’s Greatest Places 2025 and National Geographic Traveller’s European Cities Collection 2025; such a nice surprise and very well deserved.
The hotel is in a great location, just a short walk to Baščaršija (the old bazaar), which made it very convenient for exploring Sarajevo even with a short stay. The room was very cozy, clean, and comfortable, and the amenities were all thoughtfully prepared. Everything felt well-kept and welcoming.
I had to leave very early for my flight, so unfortunately I didn’t get to try the breakfast, but I heard from others that it’s excellent.
Overall, a very pleasant stay and I’d happily recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Sarajevo especially if you want somewhere comfortable, charming, and well located.

Otherwise, absolutely loved the stay and heated floors in the bathroom were awesome after a shower!

GGuest UserThe hotel is located in the core area of the center of Sarajevo, on the edge of the main road (in fact, the main road is very small), it is very convenient to walk to the scenic spot. Because Sarajevo is very small and the road is narrow, it is not recommended to drive, walking is the most convenient way to visit. The room is small, small, but very clean and tidy, the bedding is very comfortable, the wall of the entire hotel is a Sarajevo spray plotter, very distinctive, may also be the reason for her name color inn. The room also sent free Evian glass bottled water and bedtime snacks. The details of the hotel are very good, the staff is very warm and the service is very intimate. GGuest UserThe room is large, the rooftop balcony has a nice view, the hotel facilities are complete, clean and sanitary. The breakfast is quite rich. The hotel is located halfway up the mountain, you have to take a taxi to get there, and it is very hard to walk with luggage. There is a large shopping mall nearby, which takes 10 minutes to walk.

GGuest UserIncredible hotel with very kind and welcoming staff. Nice and large rooms with an incredible view of the forest, a very unique experience. Would like to extend a thanks to Sanin for making the best hot chocolate I've ever had, and Mladen for serving us in the three times (!!!) we used the downstairs restaurant which had probably the best pizza I've ever had. I never use the restaurant in the hotel but this was seriously exceptional and had plenty of options. I ended up ordering Pizza Trebevic twice on two separate days. The breakfast options were good too.
Special thanks also to Mellisa at the front desk who let us check out late because our flight was late in the evening and greeted us with nothing but kindness, and booked us taxis as we needed.
The only problem you might have with the hotel is that the location is high up in the mountains. Cab drivers probably won't be very pleased to take you up easily and you will feel guilty that they drove so far for you. The hotel is basically in the middle of nowhere but the hikes around the area make it worth it. On the map it looks like it is not far from the main town but it is really far compared to other options. Go to this hotel if you intend to hike often but just bear in mind that you are high up in the mountains, far away from the old town center
