"This was the best value-for-money hotel I stayed at during my time in Qinghai. InterContinental really knows how to deliver! The service was incredibly friendly, and the breakfast spread was impressive. When checking in, the front desk thoroughly explained the hotel's amenities and even openly addressed potential issues, like ongoing renovations. Though they mentioned renovations, I didn't hear any disruptive noise. My only real issue was how incredibly hot and dry the underfloor heating made the room; even with the humidifier and fan on, my nose was bleeding from the dryness, but honestly, that's more of a personal problem. The bedding was super comfortable, and they thoughtfully labeled the soft and firm pillows. Even with a bit of altitude sickness, I still managed to get a good night's sleep!"

"The room was incredibly spacious, and we even got a free upgrade to a deluxe room. The high floor offered an amazing view, especially since we were there during the Lantern Festival and could see the fireworks all over the city. The hotel's location is excellent. The Airport Bus Line 2 stop is just 50 meters away, and Xinghai Road right outside is full of great food options. I was in such a rush when checking out that I left my charging cable behind. The front desk staff, especially Deji, was incredibly helpful and even mailed it back to me – I really appreciate it! 🙏 It was a fantastic stay, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again for my next business trip! 👍"

It's also the first time I've had to report my car's presence every single day for parking, and the first time they charged for more than four bottles of mineral water. You'd think it's a small place because of these details, but it's actually a large hotel with good facilities and scale. Yet, in many ways, it feels incredibly petty!"

"Overall, I was quite satisfied with the room. It was very spacious and well-equipped. However, the bathroom had a strong sewage smell, and the vanity was too small to comfortably place toiletries. The hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient to get around. They also showed great consideration; even though parking wasn't available due to road construction, they reimbursed our parking fees, which was a really nice touch."

"As soon as I entered the room, I planned to sit on the bed for a while. Well, I lifted the duvet and found a huge stain, two very obvious stains on one duvet! I called the front desk, and a staff member came to replace it. She even argued that it was washed by an outsourced company and that they only look at the outside when making the bed, not the inside. Are you telling me you can't see it, or you just don't look?! This kind of excuse is fine for comforting yourself, but to tell a customer??? Her emotional intelligence is definitely something, hahaha, it made me laugh out of anger. Good thing I had just entered the room, otherwise, I wouldn't be able to explain myself! And then, nothing happened. It was utterly disgusting! Everything else was okay, but if it weren't for the Sanshan government meeting next door, I wouldn't have stayed here!"

"This hotel truly deserves a five-star review for both its facilities and service. Due to a personal issue, my check-in had a small hiccup, but the hotel staff were incredibly warm and patient in helping me resolve it. They even upgraded me to a family room free of charge – the service was absolutely fantastic! The room was clean and bright, with a sofa bed for the kids to sleep on and a desk for them to study. The bathroom was spacious with a separate wet and dry area. There was even enough space near the clothes rack to open my luggage. The tea and coffee station was conveniently located next to the sink, with a large countertop perfect for toiletries, which was much better than having to put them on the sink itself. They also provided children's toiletries, which was a thoughtful touch. The hotel also provided complimentary fruit and snacks, adding a lovely touch to the stay! The breakfast buffet offered local specialties, and the dining environment was comfortable – very satisfying! A shopping mall is just across the street, so I'm sure there are plenty of dining options there too. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay."

"Traveling solo, safety, cleanliness, and value for money are my top priorities. That's why I always choose Huazhu Group hotels. This particular hotel is conveniently located right next to the high-speed train station, just a 3-minute walk away. Plus, it just opened last year, so the facilities are new, and the location is a huge advantage. The front desk even offers self-service luggage storage for up to 12 hours free of charge. There are a few residential areas nearby with popular zha jiang mian (fried sauce noodles) stalls that always have long queues – definitely worth trying! The front desk staff was very kind. Seeing my large backpack, the lady reminded me about the laundry service available by scanning a QR code. As I was leaving, she even offered me a bottle of mineral water from a heated cooler, noticing it was cold outside. I'll definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Xining."

MM345863****Choosing the Park Plaza Hotel for my Xining trip was a fantastic decision; from the moment I stepped into the lobby until check-out, I was continuously impressed. This is absolutely a top recommendation for accommodation when traveling in high-altitude regions! As part of the Jin Jiang chain, the hotel's quality is outstanding. Upon entering, I was immediately drawn to the grand and elegant decor. The bright, clean environment, combined with the front desk staff's warm smiles, instantly melted away my travel fatigue. Check-in was efficient and thoughtful; the staff were soft-spoken, answered all my questions, and professionally handed over the room card with both hands. The whole process was smooth, and they even patiently answered my questions about local attractions – truly a great first impression. My room experience exceeded all expectations! The spacious room, around 50 square meters, felt incredibly open. The smart home system made everything convenient, with voice control for curtains and lights being super easy to use. The Simmons mattress was just the right firmness, ensuring a restful sleep whether I was tired from sightseeing or a business trip. What was most thoughtful, especially considering the dry high-altitude climate, was the in-room humidifier and complimentary hot compress salt packs. After a day of exploring, relaxing with these really melted away all my fatigue. The bathroom had a dry-wet separation design, and the international brand toiletries were reassuring to use. The coffee machine with capsule coffee and complimentary soda water at the tea station were also lovely touches – every detail showed genuine care. The amenities were also incredibly comprehensive! The gym on the 20th floor had excellent equipment, and the self-service laundry room was clean, tidy, and regularly disinfected, which is so practical for long-term travelers. Dining was another highlight; the Tingyuan Halal Restaurant on the 3rd floor served authentic Qinghai specialties. The hand-grabbed lamb, stir-fried noodles (kàng guō), and traditional yogurt were delicious. Enjoying a barbecue in the evening breeze was incredibly pleasant. The buffet breakfast offered a wide variety, ensuring a great start to the day. The hotel's location is also excellent, with convenient transportation nearby, making it easy to get to the train station or city attractions. Whether for family trips, business travel, or romantic getaways, the diverse room types can meet every need. I honestly couldn't find any faults during my stay; both comfort and value for money were exceptional. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit Xining!

The facilities were a bit old, especially the shower, which didn't work well; the hot water was very unstable and could easily scald you. The hotel had good soundproofing, making it quiet, and its location was excellent, within walking distance of several night markets. The most commendable aspect was the service; everyone was very kind, attentive, and service-oriented. The front desk staff, the baggage service by Bai Wenxiang, and the housekeeping by Ma Yulian, among others, were all excellent.

Tthe_wanderlust_jellyWas told I am given a free room upgrade, but honestly I can't tell the difference. Also the room in the listing image was larger and brighter but the actual room I received was extremely rather grim looking, not to mention it doesn't even look like half the room size in the listing image. I also can't seem to adjust the aircon temp as it will remain at room temperature no matter what I set, however xining is quite cooling in general so it's still acceptable. In the room I was give, the glass panel at the washroom side had a severely cracked side which seem like it will break if I had closed the glass door too hard. I took a video immediately before using the toilet in case it really does get shattered, but luckily it did not Very unsafe nevertheless. The shower was the worst, every night I had to gamble if it will be cold or scalding hot water. I set the shower value slightly towards the warm side, and the water became scalding hot within seocnds, and if I move it to the cold side, it became freezing cold within seconds. Even if I set it exactly in the middle, it will give me either one of the extreme temperature. Had to keep adjusting from hot to cold so that it stay at a comfortable and safe temp range. The toilet bowl flush in a very stupid manner too, by first flooding the bowl from bottom up, this means that if you took a dump and it's a slightly sticky one, it's gonna stick. The electric kettle was so noisy when turned on that it sound like a train passing right beside my room. And speaking of noise, the sound proofing of the room was one of the worst of every single hotel I stayed in before. You can literally hear new occupants dragging their luggage or family chattering non stop right after they exit the lift. FYI, my room was literally the furthest away. Every time your neighbors from 3 room away turn on their tap water, you can hear it, even if that's like 4am in the night. The hairdryer is a safety hazard too. Tried to use it once and after plugging in and turning it on, smoke immediately came oozing out of it, so I immediately switched it off and remove the plug. Never used it since. Oh yes one last thing I have to say is that as a hotel PLEASE NEVER USE MOVEMENT OR VOICE CONTROLLED LIGHTINGS. While I wash up every day, I had to keep waving my hands like an ***** every few minutes in order to prevent the lights from going out. The detection is sooooo off that unless there's a huge action at the correct spot, it will not turn the lights back. This was absolutely annoyance. However the things I mentioned above are although not welcomed, but can be tolerated. Personally, the only thing I really love about this was the free tea. And that is also a highly recommended must try. I believe that's ******* black tea which is also a local specialty. I regret not trying earlier because at the latter of my trip, I no longer pass by stores that sells ******* black tea. Recommendation to the hotel is include a way to buy some of this tea. Overall, I will only recommend the hotel to someone who do not have any other choice or have a lower budget in mind.

GGuest UserThis is honestly the best deal in town. I have been coming to Xining for 10 years, stayed in different hotels each time. This is for sure my favourite one and the best deal in this range of prices. First, the location. Right in the city centre, with a lot of taxis coming by (this can be an issue for hotels in other locations, where taxis are more rare). It is super convenient and one can reach any part of town efficiently and quickly. There are many buses that go from here to anywhere in town. Second, the quality of the room, of the bed (super super cosy and comfortable, which is really nice after travelling roughly for two weeks in the nearby countryside), the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. Very good hygiene products, not cheap toothpaste and soap like in other hotels. Third, and most importantly, the quality and warmth of the service. At the reception, the employees are very friendly and understanding, very warm-hearted, You feel really welcome in this hotel. They have helped me in several ways. especially Mrs Jane and Mrs Sunny Bai: fantastic people! They also speak English! Makes the whole stay memorable, enjoyable, relaxing. I will surely come back here next time. This is an upper-tier hotel made available with affordable prices. Thank you!

AAnonymous UserStaying at the Boway Hotel was an absolutely fantastic experience! The location is superb, just a few minutes' walk to the bus stop, making it super convenient for getting around and shopping. The room was clean and tidy, with soft and comfortable bedding. The bathroom had a great wet/dry separation and no unpleasant odors. The facilities were well-maintained, and both the air conditioning and WiFi worked perfectly. The staff were warm and attentive, handling check-in and check-out efficiently, and even proactively offered local sightseeing tips. The breakfast offered a wide variety of fresh ingredients. It's incredibly good value for money, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit!

GGuest UserThe location is wonderful if you need the train, as it is literally just outside the train station, less than 10 minutes' walking from your train. We needed the day room to rest between the morning and evening trains, and it works well for us. However, there are some issues we did not like. 1. We booked and paid through Trip, but at the receipton (we checked in early, which was great!) the receiptionst requested 100 rmb, which he said was a deposit that must be paid on the spot, and will be refunded in the morning. This was suspicious to us because nothing of this sort was stated on Trip, and no other bookings in China we made through Trip ever required any deposits, even less so in cash. When I showed him the original booking and payment, and insisted that we are only taking the room for the day, he stopped insisting on the ”deposit.” 2. The room used to be very nice, indeed, and preserves some of that niceness still: the bed is wonderful, with crispy linen, multiple different pillows, and very clean. the bathroom is nicely decorated and contained basic amenities, and the storage space is wonderful and spacious. However, like in some other Chinese hotels we stayed, the indicators of maintenance are the shower and the carpeting. In this room, the bed is super clean, but the bathroom and carpeting are either poorly cleaned, or not at all. We found hair and even a wrapping in the shower, while the carpeting in the room, elevator, and corridors was not cleaned in a long time. And yet, there are some such nice touches in this room, like the living creeper placed in a small vase in the bathroom, or the very nice wardrobe. The room is currently missing a fridge (although there is space for it), and it has not AC, although the corridors are cooled well. Instead, there is a fan, which in the afternoon heat barely helped.
