"The best thing about this hotel is its incredibly convenient location. You can see the JR entrance right from your room, which is perfect for those catching early morning day trips (many tour groups meet right by the JR ticket gates). Plus, when you return in the evening, you're right by all the restaurants at the JR station. The room itself is quite small, but the breakfast spread is excellent."

"Dormy is so amazing 🤩 Location is right outside Nagano Station, filled with many cute shops and quaint Izakayas. We loved the free night ramen which was perfect after a cold day out. Amenities are fantastic - skincare, hair wash and dormy inn pyjamas. It was a special experience when it snowed while we were in the outdoor hot spring. Plus points for walkability to Zenkoji Temple, or you can take the bus right outside Dormy Inn. Would give this 10 stars if I could. And…. the lift has a chair to sit down. Oddly perfect addition I never knew I needed 😆"

"This hotel was originally a classical hotel representing Nagano. It has been rebuilt, but the staff's dignity and hospitality are as expected. On weekends, it is used as a wedding venue, so you will pass by many people dressed in flashy attire. We stayed in the cheapest room (a single room for two in the old building), so the facilities were like those of a cheap business hotel, with a combined bathroom and toilet. I guess that's to be expected for a cheap hotel. We received good service for the same price as a business hotel, so we felt good and like we got a good deal. The restaurant in the hotel is of a very high standard, and you can enjoy classic hotel cuisine at an affordable price, so we recommend using the restaurant."

"This was my first time staying here, as I was participating in the Nagano Marathon. The price was very reasonable, and the location was excellent. I had a comfortable two-night stay. I rated the services and facilities as average, but they were perfectly sufficient for my needs. There's also a coin-operated parking lot right in front, so I didn't have to worry about parking. Thank you!"

"Fantastic stay, extremely helpful & polite staff. Prime location, connected to Nagano station via the overpass, so you don't need to cross the road, super convenient. Our room was a bit small, 15 sqm, and 1 large suitcase, it was a bit cramped. Would definitely stay here again but will book a bigger room. Arigato Sotetsu Nagano🙂"

"One of the bigger hotel rooms I have stayed in Japan so far. Free welcome cake and drink, free unlimited ice cream during your stay and a small treat when checking out. They also have the most variety of tea available for you to enjoy during your stay. The hotel is also quite close to the Nagano station. You can see the hotel building when you exit the East exit."

"The hotel is very close to Zenkoji Temple on foot. It is a very special experience to attend the morning class at 6:30 in the morning. Transportation: Across the road from Nagano Station, the buses to the city are all at the station entrance (both 1 and 7 are OK for Zenkoji. I took 1 bus which is closer. I bought the ticket before getting off). After getting off the bus, you can walk to the hotel in a few minutes. Hotel service: There was a Japanese waiter on the night we went there, but it was difficult to find someone if something happened. Hotel food: We booked a one-night stay and two meals. Although they were all vegetarian, they tasted surprisingly good. In addition, I ordered grape juice for my daughter, which tasted special in beige. Hotel facilities: You can't ask for too much from the facilities of the shukubo. Try not to bring luggage. We stayed in a Japanese-style room on the third floor. If you bring luggage, it will be very difficult to carry it up the stairs by yourself. Plug: There is no USB, please bring enough two plugs; Toilet: Only on the first floor, no room, you need to run down every time if you live upstairs; Washing: Only in the bathroom on the first floor and near the men's bath, it is relatively simple, and there are no face wash and skin care products. Although the room has air conditioning and a gas stove, the overall temperature is not high and it is a bit cold, but surprisingly, the tatami is very warm. I looked at it and it turned out to be Nishikawa's down quilt. The hotel basically has a curfew at 9 pm. Temple sightseeing: Buy a 1200 pass for Zenkoji Temple at the hotel. Volunteers will lead you to the temple for morning classes at 6:30 in the morning. As an experience, it is very good, but remind you to dress warmly. The time for listening to the chanting is a bit long. My feet are sore from the cold. The volunteers finish at about 8:30. After returning to the hotel for breakfast, you can go to Zenkoji Temple to buy amulets and worship on your own. There are many souvenirs and food, as well as Starbucks on the street directly opposite the main temple. If you are not very tired, you can walk back to Nagano. We encountered heavy snow when we returned to the temple after breakfast. It felt very good. I wish you all a happy trip."

"The hotel is located about 10-15mins walk from Nagano station and is easily navigated using google map. Hotel provide luggage forwarding service and luggage deposit after checkout. Amenities are not provided in the room but upon check in, hotel staff will inform you to pick what you need from the area at the hotel lobby. It can also be picked up at anytime of the day. The lobby also have a coffee machine serving hot chocolate and coffee throughout the day. Pastry are provided at certain hour as well. One time free Sake tasting per guest where you need to pick up special coin from the hotel staff. Rooms are clean and quite spacious."
