"Very cool. Unrivaled ocean view room. The carpet is a bit wet but just pass on slippers. Does not affect the experience. Super cost-effective at just over 300. Breakfast is a bento box. You need to pay extra for the buffet. There is only one restaurant five minutes away. There is a Lawson convenience store 15 minutes away. A taxi from Tanabe or Shirahama costs about 2,000 yen"

"Before arriving at the hotel, I found that the transportation in the Kumano Hongu area was very inconvenient. I sent an email to the hotel, and they were able to reply within half a day. They also gave transportation suggestions and told us that they could drive to Ukegawa Station to pick us up, which saved us at least 45 minutes. distance. When we arrived at the hotel, the English introduction was very comprehensive, and they could send a car to take us to the bus station the next day, because the nearest bus station was not suitable for our travel time. The hotel provides a detailed bus timetable and a map for hiking from Prince Faxinmen to the palace. The meals and hot springs are typical Japanese style, and I am very satisfied. If the child's stuffed toys are left at the hotel after leaving, the hotel will contact us and they will send them to the next hotel. Really good service, highly recommended. The hot spring has two private baths, the public bathroom is also large, and there is also an outdoor bath."

"It is very convenient to stay overnight on foot. Although it is a youth hostel, it is very quiet. The facilities of the homestay are very complete, and the public area of the rest area is very comfortable. It would be better if lunch boxes were provided. If the weather is bad, I definitely don’t want to go out for meals."

"Walking all the way from Hongu Taisha, through the tunnel is Kawayu, the facade and interior have green elements, the name is not worthy of the green house. On the night of the hotel check-in, several tour groups checked in, Europe, America, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the mainland. During the peak hours of dinner and breakfast, the dining experience was not particularly good and a bit noisy. Fortunately, I checked in early to avoid the flow of people and soaked in a wild hot spring in advance ♨️. The Japanese tatami room I stayed in was indeed large enough. But compared with the room price, the cost performance is not particularly high, not recommended."

"We reached the hotel on foot from Hongu Taisha Shrine via Ohitsuchi, passing by Yumine Hot Spring Street. It takes about half an hour to walk from the hot spring street. I’m not sure how to get there by car. The hotel environment is very good. It’s a completely Japanese-style resort hotel. It’s quiet and far away. The crowd, the service is enthusiastic, and the hygiene is up to standard. (Note that there are no showers in the rooms, you have to go to the large bathroom.) The hot springs are very big and unique. The dinner is also good. I have a good rest. There is a shuttle bus to the palace when I leave. ( You may also be able to make an appointment) Watase Onsen is worth experiencing!"

"Very old-fashioned hotel, the door is still opened by a key. The hot spring is great, you can enjoy the outdoor hot spring. Dinner and breakfast are super nice, the service is very comfortable. It drizzled in the morning, sitting by the window to enjoy the tranquility of the mountains. The bus was very crowded in the morning when we left this stop, and the hotel brother quickly drove us to the next stop. There were backpackers who were climbing the mountain, and we squeezed the most crowded bus in the past 20 years to go down the mountain to Hayatama Taisha."

"It was 3rd day when my wife and I are hiking KUMANO KODO. After 6 and half hour hiking and 20 minutes bus, we arrived at Watarase Onsen Hotel Sasayuri around 5pm. At checking counter, we found that I booked wrong day - one day late….. However service person rearranged room and dinner for us within less than half hour. Their traditional Japanese service and food are amazing and forgettable. I will be for sure coming back when I revisit this area."

"There are fewer restaurants near the hotel. You can go to the hot springs when you stay in the hotel. Although the facilities are very old, it is really comfortable to soak in the soup after hiking! ! The front desk does not speak English but the service attitude is very good, it is still very recommended"

Amazing
GGuest UserThe decoration style of the hotel has a sense of Showa era, combined with the ocean, very distinctive. The boss is very enthusiastic and not very Japanese. When I was eating, I talked about it. The boss also said that he had worked in Shanghai 20 years ago and was so intimacy. The hotel is on the side of the road in Kumano Ancient Road, where you can explore the ancient road. And it really is fog の, it is raining in the morning and fog is really like in a fairyland.
GGuest UserA great place if you’re open to cooking some food yourself. Yes, the dinner options are basically non-existent, but that really doesn’t matter if you’re open minded and willing to do something yourself. My partner and I walked for 8 hours and were exhausted when we arrived, but we still decided to get some food from the shop across the road (very nearby!!) and cook. It ended up being a lovely way to end the day which also surprised us. We sat atop our container-home and looked to the mountains as we ate our food.
The room has everything you need other than knives and maybe more options for plates, but it’s doable. Everything is compact but that’s part of the charm, and it’s really quite incredible how they organise the entire room.
The only issues we encountered were the lack of knives (only one chef’s knife, no normal knives for spreading butter etc), and the plates, but no other issues.
The lack of staff to talk to face to face can be a bit of a shock to people, but it’s all about your own attitude to trying it out, as this isn’t a hotel where you can get anything you want just by asking. You can ask, but it’s all done via a couple of iPads. Just be prepared and keep an open mind. If you do that, this might be one of the most comfortable and personal stays you’ll have.
YYongrenzhaowulingwangThe shuttle bus from Ikidanabe JR Station was at around 2pm. If you missed it, you can only take a taxi there, which costs about 1700JP.
The beach behind the hotel is very beautiful, and you can see the sunset.
I booked a one-night stay with two meals. The dinner was pretty good, and the quality was higher than that of several hotels behind the Kumano Kodo!
There was also dandan noodles for supper in the evening. Personally, I feel that except for the inconvenient transportation, I am satisfied with the hotel in other aspects!
The shuttle bus was delivered to Ikidanabe Station at 10am in the morning. We felt it was a bit late, so we asked the front desk to call a taxi to the station.
Other areas are good!
GGuest UserThe room is small but well-equipped. There are all kinds of toiletries at the front desk. The self-service mode is very good. In addition, the manual with the worn-out middle road is exclusive. The customer service attitude is very good.
__M1352469****We arrived late at night. The guy at the front desk greeted us warmly. He used a translator to explain the situation and asked if we needed our luggage transported (he could help transport our luggage to the next destination). He also asked if we needed to soak in an outdoor hot spring. The next morning, I opened the curtains and saw the beautiful sea. It's far from the station and it's dark at night if you walk. I recommend taking a taxi, which costs 1,000 yen one way.
MMadingjiushiMatinFacilities: It has breakfast and breakfast, especially on the Kumano Ancient Road. You know that the hotel has breakfast. It is still important to have no materials. Take the earliest class to Kumano Ancient Road Museum. The nearest stop to the hotel is 6:47. The hotel breakfast is 6:30. You can leave after eating. There is no delay at all.
Hygienic: clean, good! Especially the bath is marked with a good type
Environment: The hotel room can be seen in a relaxed and happy mood, especially when waiting for the elevator, it is in line with the feeling of Chinese and Japanese-style frames.
Service: Very good, very good, really, you see that I sent so many pictures, it is really super good, coffee, tea are on the first floor, I am too lucky to choose this on the Kumano Ancient Road, it is not far from the whole family, walking through the railway is Rosen, Jiyitian side station is next to 711.
GGuest UserI booked a budget room at this hotel for a one-night stop in Kii-Tanabe before setting off on my Kumano Kodo hike. The location is super convenient, with the train station, bus stop for the next day, convenience stores, the tourist center, and many restaurants all just a few dozen meters away. The hotel is older, and the facilities are basic but adequate. My room wasn't very large, but it was very clean.
GGuest UserThe room was very clean. The landlady was kind and could communicate in Chinese using a translation software. I ordered her breakfast for 800 yen and it was very comfortable. I didn’t know what to choose from the meal. I just ate what she made and I was very satisfied. This B&B can pick you up from the station. I don’t speak Japanese, so I can only walk there. When I left, she drove me to the station. I liked it very much! The bus runs twice a day, and it’s difficult to take a taxi. The pick-up and drop-off is very pleasant.
