Kumano Ayukawa-juku

This room was because the hotel I booked before I didn't confirm the order the day before I left, and it became the perfect start for me to break through the middle of the Kumano Ancient Road. After leaving the station, I met Mr. Ota (60 years old), who came to pick me up. After a simple exchange, he gave me a brochure that I had to go to Kumano Ancient Road Museum to buy, and it had already stamped the furthest chapter on the periphery of the ancient road. Today, the task of the newer village is to NPC to take me to cover the other two chapters. And let me try a 2-hour hike to warm up for tomorrow's departure. Mr. Ota enthusiastically explained that he did not charge me any extra fees. There was a Rosen convenience store 3 minutes walk from his house. I bought a lot of supplies and dinner. Who knew that my room was already stuffed with all kinds of free drinks. The room is arranged on the second floor and there is a toilet, but the bath and laundry are going downstairs. The room is oversized, a little bigger than my home in Kyoto. At night, you can see the perfect valley sunset from the balcony! The toilet is a bit old but very clean, and the toilet paper is super thick and fragrant! The bathroom and the wash basin are equipped with a variety of toiletries so that you don't need to open the wash bag! Mr. Taitian's dinner for a busy afternoon was simple instant noodles and meatballs, which made me a little sad. We talked for a long time after dinner. Mr. Taitian is actually half a Chinese pass. If you have the opportunity to stay, please communicate with him. Although it looks a little far from the starting point, there is the blessing of Rosen convenience store and the hospitality of Mr. Ota, it is definitely a lucky place to start from Kumanoko! I highly recommend it!

The hot spring right outside the door is incredibly soothing, and the stars are amazing at night. The food prepared by the host is delicious, and there's a private communal hot spring to soak in. The only downside is that the soundproofing isn't great; the older man in the next room was incredibly loud. But thankfully, the other guests all went to bed early, so it didn't disturb their rest too much.

Right in front of the bus stop Kamaya-Mae I think.. Kind hosts who speaks a reasonable amount of English. Dinner smelled delicious but I didn’t go for it because I wanted to try the other restaurant in the area. If I return to kawayu, I will come back here.

Before arriving at the hotel, I found that the transportation in the Kumano Hongu area was very inconvenient. I sent an email to the hotel, and they were able to reply within half a day. They also gave transportation suggestions and told us that they could drive to Ukegawa Station to pick us up, which saved us at least 45 minutes. distance. When we arrived at the hotel, the English introduction was very comprehensive, and they could send a car to take us to the bus station the next day, because the nearest bus station was not suitable for our travel time. The hotel provides a detailed bus timetable and a map for hiking from Prince Faxinmen to the palace. The meals and hot springs are typical Japanese style, and I am very satisfied. If the child's stuffed toys are left at the hotel after leaving, the hotel will contact us and they will send them to the next hotel. Really good service, highly recommended. The hot spring has two private baths, the public bathroom is also large, and there is also an outdoor bath.

Amazing service from the moment we arrived to the date of our departure. Staff is very attentive. Food is amazing and presented well. Location is serene and a great change from the big cities. Rooms are perfect and just the type of Japanese village rooms and decor we were hoping for.

Kumano Honno is the hometown of hot springs. It includes Tangzhifeng Hot Spring, Chuantang Hot Spring, and Duyu Hot Spring. Compared with the famous Chuantang Hot Spring, the Duyu Hot Spring Hotel we booked is more niche and quieter in a small mountain. The hotel has three floors, each floor is 10 and the foreign room. We arrived at the hotel at 1 pm. There was no regular told to check in after 3:00. We were very enthusiastic to help us check in and introduce the soup rules. The room is large, twin bed + tatami, facing the river bank, the window is cherry blossoms. There are two hotels and four soup pools, you can soak, there is the largest open-air wind in Western Japan and the Japanese family special loan cut open-air wind. The dinner was very delicate and the breakfast was very delicate.

I booked a budget room at this hotel for a one-night stop in Kii-Tanabe before setting off on my Kumano Kodo hike. The location is super convenient, with the train station, bus stop for the next day, convenience stores, the tourist center, and many restaurants all just a few dozen meters away. The hotel is older, and the facilities are basic but adequate. My room wasn't very large, but it was very clean.

The room was very clean. The landlady was kind and could communicate in Chinese using a translation software. I ordered her breakfast for 800 yen and it was very comfortable. I didn’t know what to choose from the meal. I just ate what she made and I was very satisfied. This B&B can pick you up from the station. I don’t speak Japanese, so I can only walk there. When I left, she drove me to the station. I liked it very much! The bus runs twice a day, and it’s difficult to take a taxi. The pick-up and drop-off is very pleasant.
