"The hotel is not far from the station, very convenient, the door face is a bit small... Although the pink neon light looks a bit strange, it is indeed a serious hotel hahahahaha. The front desk is a grandfather, I feel quite good to talk, the room is small but complete, the bathroom feels quite new and clean, in general, it is very quiet and comfortable, that is, the key (the physical key is not the room card) is handed over to the front desk during the day, and the key is not cleaned. I don't know if I am afraid of losing it? ? I heard that some hotels have such rules, but this is the first time I have lived in this kind of key. The magic experience has increased again~
Not much to eat nearby and close early, maybe because it is the countryside? If you arrive late, it is recommended to buy delicious food directly at the convenience store near the station."

GGuest UserMy husband and I stayed here after a very long and wet day of hiking on the Kumano Kodo. It was a perfect place to land, rest and recover. The room is small, but the bed was one of the most comfortable of our whole trip. Our bodies also very much appreciated the onsen tubs, which both of us had to ourselves (separate men and women’s). The meal was definitely one of the very vest that we had during our entire trip in Japan, and the hostess even did emergency laundry so that we would have some dry clothes for the next day. We are very grateful to both of them for such an exceptional stay.

MMaoxiaoxiongmiaomiaoThis room was because the hotel I booked before I didn't confirm the order the day before I left, and it became the perfect start for me to break through the middle of the Kumano Ancient Road. After leaving the station, I met Mr. Ota (60 years old), who came to pick me up. After a simple exchange, he gave me a brochure that I had to go to Kumano Ancient Road Museum to buy, and it had already stamped the furthest chapter on the periphery of the ancient road. Today, the task of the newer village is to NPC to take me to cover the other two chapters. And let me try a 2-hour hike to warm up for tomorrow's departure.
Mr. Ota enthusiastically explained that he did not charge me any extra fees. There was a Rosen convenience store 3 minutes walk from his house. I bought a lot of supplies and dinner. Who knew that my room was already stuffed with all kinds of free drinks. The room is arranged on the second floor and there is a toilet, but the bath and laundry are going downstairs. The room is oversized, a little bigger than my home in Kyoto. At night, you can see the perfect valley sunset from the balcony! The toilet is a bit old but very clean, and the toilet paper is super thick and fragrant! The bathroom and the wash basin are equipped with a variety of toiletries so that you don't need to open the wash bag!
Mr. Taitian's dinner for a busy afternoon was simple instant noodles and meatballs, which made me a little sad. We talked for a long time after dinner. Mr. Taitian is actually half a Chinese pass. If you have the opportunity to stay, please communicate with him.
Although it looks a little far from the starting point, there is the blessing of Rosen convenience store and the hospitality of Mr. Ota, it is definitely a lucky place to start from Kumanoko! I highly recommend it!

DDayantutu99It is located in the countryside of Tanabe but the transportation is relatively convenient. This hotel is a member of the Secret Hot Spring Guardian Association, and the water quality of the hot spring is very good. The waiters were all local elderly people, and my lovely mother-in-law came to talk to me with a translator during dinner. The food is not luxurious, but it is still quite traditional and authentic Japanese home-cooked food.

GGuest UserI thought it was a separate room, but the result was a whole house of space. I lived in a Japanese-style house, which was very novel~
There are supermarkets close before six o'clock nearby, where you can buy some simple ingredients and cook your own food, but the existing pots may not be too large (two people simply eat enough). There is no water dispenser, but you can boil your own water, and there are also tea bags and three-in-one coffee bags that can be brewed.
Very close to the bus station, very quiet after night, there is also a balcony outside the second floor room.
The fly in the ointment is that because it is located on the side of the mountain, it may be necessary to check whether there are small bugs before lying on the bed, and then it is better to sleep after processing.

SShiTonyIt was 3rd day when my wife and I are hiking KUMANO KODO. After 6 and half hour hiking and 20 minutes bus, we arrived at Watarase Onsen Hotel Sasayuri around 5pm. At checking counter, we found that I booked wrong day - one day late….. However service person rearranged room and dinner for us within less than half hour. Their traditional Japanese service and food are amazing and forgettable. I will be for sure coming back when I revisit this area.
