"This hotel is right next to Lake Toya. We booked an East-facing Japanese-style room and were very happy with it. The window offered a direct view of Mount Yotei, and the scenery was absolutely stunning on clear days. The tatami mats were super comfortable for sleeping, and staff came by daily to make up the futons. While the hotel's onsen (hot spring) doesn't have many pools, the rooftop bath boasts incredible views, and the ground-floor outdoor bath offers a beautiful snowy landscape. The men's and women's baths rotate daily at specific times. We also appreciated that someone came with a testing device every day to check the water quality, which was very reassuring. During our stay, we happened to catch the winter fireworks festival. Watching the fireworks from the lakeside was just as amazing as watching them from our room! They went off promptly at 8:30 PM for 10 minutes every night for three consecutive days – it was incredibly romantic. The hotel breakfast was very generous. The onigiri (rice balls), chazuke (rice with tea), milk, and salmon were daily must-haves. The restaurant also had a spectacular view. Getting around from the hotel was very convenient. Turn right out the door and a 2-minute walk takes you to the bus stop. You can book tickets online, and the bus connects to various attractions. We used this bus to go to the ranch, the observation deck to see Mount Yotei, Snow World for snowmobiling, and Rusutsu for skiing. Just be prepared for potential bus delays."

"This hotel is a hidden gem where I stayed for three nights. It has four floors, with the entrance and front desk located on the second floor, accessible by an elevator. On the first floor, there are separate male and female onsens (hot springs), each with three indoor baths and one open-air bath. The changing rooms are equipped with washing machines and dryers (laundry costs a very affordable 100 yen per wash, and you can buy a laundry pod at the front desk for 100 yen). The hotel offers a set breakfast (included with the stay) and dinner (can be added on arrival for 3300 yen per person), both served individually rather than buffet-style. Breakfast times are 7:00, 7:30, or 8:00 AM, while dinner is at 6:00, 6:30, 7:00, or 7:30 PM. There's a friendly Chinese-speaking staff member from Beijing at the front desk. The guest rooms are Japanese-style tatami rooms, offering views of Lake Toya and a popular photo spot. Each room includes a safe, kettle, cold drinking water, sterilized cups, a writing desk, a table lamp, a massage device, and lotion, among other amenities. The hotel also features a coffee bar and a souvenir shop near the front desk. Each room has a toilet and a sink, but no shower. The only downsides are that the entrance door to the room and the bathroom door are quite low, probably around 1.8 meters, and there's no drying room for ski gear (though with permission, you can place your ski equipment on the floor in the front desk area). The air conditioning has three powerful settings, so it never felt cold. The windows are double-paned."

"My overall experience at Toyako畔亭 (Toyako Hanatei) was quite good. The hotel is right by Lake Toya, and the views are truly stunning. When I arrived yesterday, the weather was clear, and I could see Mount Yotei clearly in the distance – it was a magnificent sight. This morning, it snowed, and the lake with the falling snowflakes created a very picturesque scene. It was a completely different vibe, and both views were incredibly impressive. The onsen area was clean and comfortable, and soaking in the lake-view hot spring was especially relaxing. Dinner was excellent; the steak was delicious, tender, and juicy – definitely the highlight of the meal. Breakfast had a minor drawback: the serving time from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM felt a bit short. It can get rushed when there are a lot of people. Also, there was no seafood donburi, which would have made the selection richer. However, the overall taste was still good. Overall, it offered good value for money, and the minor issues didn't detract from the overall experience. If I visit Lake Toya again, I would definitely consider staying here."

"Absolutely stunning view with calm and peaceful environment!!  Since it becoming low season. not crowded. However for checking in we feel like not much welcoming. i mean we arrived with no staff coming to welcome until 2 pm. Everything start on time, professional, well manage. i fall in love since first saw the view from huge transparent wall.. their public onsen is breath-taken view. i went there before dinner&early morning. it switch side (gent&ladies) and you could enjoy both  I didnt take pictures for dinner cause it absolutely worth money!!!! everything is soooooooooooo nice, great taste~ omg all are over my expecetation. I love vibe here. even in room that you could seee it a bit old but clean and well maintained. This is the perfect trip after Niseko for ski/activities. i really enjoy my stay and will come again if i have chance!!!  +point that they have illumination light nearby. 7-11&seico mart in front of the hotel. good and cheap meal for lunch. Yukata & pajama in room are so lovely. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰"

"The room was a good size with a great view of Lake Toya. Someone even came to lay out the futon for us. Dinner felt very special, and the soup was incredibly light and delicious. Breakfast was also very good, with a wide selection at the buffet. The hotel's hot spring was a bit hot, but it was still really pleasant to relax outdoors with the breeze."

"This hotel is very good place, we can take a good view in the morning. The room is very spacious including bathrooms too, but I just have a little bit commend for the bed if possible to change the bed to more comfortable I will appreciate it. Front service is good, they text to remind the time to check-in. This hotel has not elevator but it had only two floors."

"I really experienced the style of a Japanese homestay here, especially the children are very excited about tatami. The room is very spacious, there is also a loft, you can sleep on it and below, and you can make your own bed and fold the quilt. Although it is not a hotel, the floor, carpet, bathroom, mattress, quilt... are very clean. There is heating in the house, although it looks small, but the energy is very big. The store is a short distance from Hot Spring Street, about 40 minutes walk, snowy road in winter, it is not recommended to walk, you can do bus to arrive, the station is at the door, there is a timetable in the corridor on the first floor for reference. When returning at night, the boss is very intimate to pick up the car, you can call in advance or agree on the time and place in advance. The boss is very very nice, very friendly, and the owner's mother (a kind old grandmother) who lives next to the hotel is also very good. We arrived early in the morning. The grandmother did not let us check in at 3 pm like other hotels, but kept saying that the weather was cold and let me go directly to the room. In the afternoon, she personally sent us to Hot Spring Street. I was very touched. 👍👍👍 The next morning, because there was no suitable bus, the boss took the initiative to send us to the station, which made us very touched 👍 In short, if you are tired of staying in a hotel, want to experience Japanese life and feel the warmth of ”home”, you can come here. highly recommended"

The lobby features Japanese snacks and board games, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere; the relaxation area on the second floor is even more serene and comfortable – once you sit down, you won't want to leave. The dining experience here is simply sublime. Various alcoholic beverages are kept in ice buckets, freely awaiting wine enthusiasts! Dinner is exquisite and innovative; each dish is a stunning work of art, so delicious that it makes you want to return just for the food. Breakfast is delicate and abundant, awakening your taste buds and setting a wonderful tone for the day. The shiso soda thoughtfully provided in the in-room mini-fridge is incredibly refreshing after a hot spring soak, leaving a lasting, pleasant aftertaste. The toiletries have a delicate fragrance, leaving the skin soft and comfortable after use – even these small details are not overlooked. The overall service is friendly and sincere, without being overly familiar, yet maintaining just the right amount of professionalism. It truly feels like a 'just right' luxury experience! The hotel's surroundings are quiet and pristine, and transportation to and from the lakeside is convenient. Whether taking a taxi or using the hotel's shuttle service to JR Toya Station, it's effortless. It feels like Hotel Premium Lake Toya is not just a hotel, but a cherished memory of a journey. "This hotel have stunning view towards lake Toya, private onsen which include open air and a bathtub right at ur balcony. The only downside is a bit rural every restaurant close around 4:30pm, and if u don’t want to have hotel dinner you can only buy cup noodle from the hotel lobby. The only downside is the check out time is 10am… is this a Japan thing? Usually us 12pmif I stay in the city… and I found the staff is not as helpful as we were carrying 4 luggage checking out and wanted to load into our car… he just wait my bf load it on his own… But during check in the lady staffs were very helpful loading off the luggage and helping us to change the breakfast menu. Only minor hiccups nth much. Overall is enjoyable."

"Conveniently located with clean and tidy rooms. The welcome bar in the lobby is great, offering drinks and some desserts. The hot spring is decent, but it seems to be segregated by gender with different time slots for evenings and early mornings. There are two shuttle buses to Toya Station every morning, which need to be booked by scanning a QR code at the hotel. Breakfast is also pretty good."
