"You have to buy tissues separately at the counter. The room had a very damp smell as soon as I entered, and so did the bed and bedding. The soundproofing is very poor. I wouldn't recommend this room type for light sleepers, as you can occasionally hear children running upstairs and other people's conversations very clearly. The environment is quite nice, especially at night. However, when the lights are on at night, people outside can see everything through the glass doors and windows. 😂"

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a wonderful stay and a very pleasant experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The location was convenient, and the facilities met all my expectations. The check-in and check-out process was smooth, and I felt welcomed throughout my stay. Everything was well organized, making the trip enjoyable and stress-free. I would definitely recommend this property to other travellers and look forward to staying here again in the future. "July 2024 TL;DR: This place feels more like a meditation centre than a hotel, it will not provide you with supplements. It's a bare room. You need to bring toothbrush&paste and buy drinks somewhere as it is not provided. No tv and fan. No in-house restaurant. There are mosquitoes at the garden near afternoon, and the balcony at night, but there are no insects in the room (family room). In exchange you will get a very clear and vivid Mt Kinabalu view in the near-dawn morning (where there is no mosquito), a working shower with heater, concrete floor that reduces nearby noise, and cold foggy experience. Long: This place is within the fog path so you will get the foggy experience. You can also see Mt. Kinabalu at the right time and it looks quite close (e.g. dawn 6 a.m.). You can even see the electric towers and resthouse, it's that close. Moreover, this place is more like a meditation centre than a hotel. It is visibly run down probably since covid as that is also when the in-house restaurant got closed down. Considering my experience as a recurrent visitor of Kundasang, mosquito has always been the least of my concern. Somehow this place has lots of them. We got bit quite a lot in a short span of time. Undesirable / Cons: -No water kettle, no supplements (water bottle, coffee pack, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.). Porcelain mugs are provided though -No in-house cafe/restaurant but nearby has a few (400 meters at least) -No tv, no fan but cold in general -Quite a lot of mosquito and moths outside at the garden place in the afternoon and at the balcony connecting the 2 buildings at night. There are no electric zapper. -Seems a bit run down at the garden. 2 broken board pieces on the floor for example. -It has no Qibla for muslim people, at least in family room Desirable / Pros: -Big room. Not smelly -Is cement board floor -Big single beds. Not smelly -Clean bed. Fluffy cover. -Water heater is working for family room at least -Relatively clean inside room and at reception. No insects in room. No weird bugs around. -Has a table and chairs in room -Lots of electrical port -Wifi provided by hotel is strong (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz -Very near main road. So good road going towards the hotel -Aki-Aki trail starting point is nearby. Plan to go next time so no experience as of this review This place is not too bad. Not too good either. Personally, I wouldn't place this as my top place for the foggy and view considering other options but I don't mind returning if necessary. It will sure be much much better to highly recommended with much needed renovation and have some methods to deal with those mosquito. p.s. There's a cute puppy that invites you at the entrance. 😂 p.s.s. I saw a greater coucal gliding into the forest in the morning!"

"The front office staff friendly and helpful during our stay. We got the chalet 13 on our stay, feels like taking stairs to level 4/5 to get to the chalet. The view is more to forest and sky, not a mountain view. Lacking wifi on the chalet side and mobile phone reception coverage also not so good (we are using CelcomDigi blue and yellow edition). Overall, its a very relaxing experience."

"It's a magical, fairytale place. It's in a truly remote location, so it's difficult to find transportation without your own car. However, once you arrive (we laboriously found a taxi via Grab from Kota Kinabalu), Mr. Lee takes care of all your transportation with extreme punctuality, courtesy, and professionalism. All meals are served in the restaurant of a property located 10 minutes away (also walkable if necessary), the only one with a restaurant nearby. The prices are super fair and the quality is good. The breakfast included in the room price is a fixed option (Asian or American), basic but okay. Mr. Lee takes care of everything. The rooms/cottages, although in need of maintenance, are well-structured with an interesting and not at all random design. The view of Mt. Kinabalu from the garden is magnificent. There's no air conditioning, but the air is fresh and there is a fan. No problems with insects. The only windows that open have good mosquito nets. At night, the silence is absolute. The beds are comfortable."

"Fantastic view of Mount Kinabalu... Its on the right if ur facing towards the hotel ya...not towards the front of the car park.. Steep decent and ascend from main road to hotel and fro.. Vehicles need power and a good clutch ya..Emmm we got a squeaky bed and quite smelly bathroom..a bit tricky to set the hot shower but manageable lah..."

"Best spot ever if you want to catch a perfect view of Mount Kinabalu in the morning. Best time is from 6am - 8am. WVF also sediakan us breakfast, setanding dgn harga bayaran tapi kenyang dan sedap. The place so peaceful, senyap sambil dgr bunyi air terjun. Jalan menuju ke WVF dihujung jalan hampir ke farmstay agak ke dalam dan susur jalan berbukit, pls extra be careful. Di WVF ada kedai runcit yang serba lengkap ala2 spt watsons hahaha & they also ada sediakan add-on steambot RM25/pax. Harga byrn bilik setanding dgn accommodation & breakfast. Kakak2 receptionist sangat baik dan murah dgn senyuman. 😍"

"The hotel is a very beautiful and charming place. I booked this room mainly because can see the stunning Golden Mountain view directly at dawn. It gets quite cold at night, and the mornings are pleasantly cool. The restaurant food is good, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The only downsides are that there are a few insects at the mountaintop, which is understandable, and the soundproofing of the room isn’t great—after 10 p.m., noise from people outside can still be heard clearly."
