Rasuna Icon Hotel

1. It was located in the middle of the citizen’s residential area, near Jl. HR. Rasuna Said as the main road. But it was surrounded by office buildings, shopping malls, restaurants, cafes, and also accessible by public transportation (TransJakarta & LRT). It was actually quite far from the main road, so you need to take a walk or hitchhike a ride to get there. 2. The room wasn’t quite big but spacious enough. I booked a Deluxe Room, but I got a free upgrade to the Executive Room which of course is bigger. Actually both types of the rooms are quite similar, the only difference is that the Executive Room has a single sofa at the corner of the room. There was a wall-size window that could be opened, which had a very tiny space without any view but a wall, perhaps it was made for smokers to smoke. Surprisingly, the room has a microwave to reheat your food. Unfortunately, the room was a bit unclean. I could feel the dust on the blanket and the linen. The Air Conditioner was not as cold as it was expected. 3. The bathroom was on the right side of the door, and it was really small. The hose-spray attached to the toilet flew a high power of water. The shower tube was so small, and it was quite hard for me to move my body, especially when I needed to reach some difficult parts of my body to be cleaned. The hosed-shower was adjustable, but the wall and a glass door which separate the shower tube and the toilet & washbasin were only built three quarters, which made the toilet and washbasin got some splashes. Fortunately, The water heater was working as well. 4. The breakfast was delivered to my room. Actually there was a restaurant at the top of the building but I wasn’t sure whether it also served breakfast for the hotel’s guests or it was only open for the public at night. I went to that rooftop restaurant to breathe some fresh air and taste some food. Well, the food was delicious but for the price it was a bit too expensive. 5. All the staff were nice, polite, warm and very helpful. But I wasn’t sure whether I would have another night there again.

Stayed 2 nights, hoping to disconnect selves from routinities with different ambiance and experience facilities ie pool, gym or sauna - or simply elevate bonding along with some tea/ coffee in the room. Sadly, none of those were available at their service. I listed myself to use the pool for the next morning (since limited seats were allowed due to pandemic) - just to experienced nothing more than 3mins in the pool. It was foggy under the water! Can you believe that? The janitor told me it’s due to the cleaning process. Well I’ve tried to swim in so many pools - never once it was foggy because of cleaning process. More likely it’s severe dirty instead! Then I humored mysef with sauna, which I wasted 25mins awaited the room to be ready, and it’s not even close to ‘warm’. Seriously, what a start of the day! Later in the eve around 9ish pm, a just checked in guest next room was making a ridiculously loud noise phone call. I asked the management to assist - which they did, but seemed that the Hotel rep was too soft that the loud noise happened again at 11pm. Hello? Try to be firm, will you? We were offered to move to an upgraded room - which was unnecessarily big. Another unpleasant experience happened there, where the tea cups and electric kettle had stains in most parts. Last but not least, the cooler were off in the hallway, receptionist area and in the elevator. I so believe the management has long list of homework to settle, to elevate service rating - so please do start soonest!

my wife and i stayed at the ayaka suites jl. karet pedurenan #45 recently. we LOVE this hotel!!! this was our 2nd time here. our favorite jakarta hotel, and we have stayed at many in the $20-$40/night range. ayaka suites is a GREAT value. we paid around $35/night including breakfast for a deluxe double room. 1 king bed, 30m, with refrigerator, separate bathroom with shower. the bed was very comfortable with great pillows, nice comforter(with cover). 32” tv, with about 40 channels, including 4 hbo channels. wifi was easily connected, fast and reliable. wifi worked good in breakfast area, around pool, and in lobby. our room faced south; looking toward satrio, with nice view of raffles, dbs, lotte shopping center and the rest of kunnigan. at night very pretty with all the lights in the area. there is alittle patio that u can access, from the room. we like this location. we stayed at the rasuna icon which is closer to rasuna said, and ayaka west, closer to satrio. but nice 5 minute walk to ambassador mall, 10 minutes to lotte, 8 minutes to axa, 15 minutes to plaza festival. the staff is what makes a BIG difference at ayakka. from the doormen, front desk, housecleaning, breakfast staff/restaurant, are all outstanding. the doormen have a nice uniform they wear; they all match; very professional looking. the car and pedestrian access has a circular drive for taksi, grab, private cars, etc. the cars can dropoff/pickup guest easily and then the front door/lobby is only steps away. the lobby is large and pretty. porcelain tile, woodgrained walls and front desk area. lots of sofas, chairs, tables, etc. it is very easy to feel at home here. 2 elevators; i think 8 floors. lots of rooms, i would estimate 200 rooms. breakfast buffet is probably my favorite thing about ayaka. the breakfast area/restaurant is large. plenty of places to sit. you can spreak out, away from other guests if you want. daily items include white rice, fried rice, fried eggs, waffles, bread, croissants, kopi, juice, hot tea, bubur, and fresh fruit. other items some days, fish, chicken, spaghetti. i do miss the omelet bar, that is still closed due to covid. there is seating outside near the pool and deck, where you can smoke. after a week in bangkok, we are going back later this month, before we back to u.s.

Amaris Hotel Satrio Kuningan - Jakarta

Kuningan South Jakarta|0.12km from Masjid Al Muamalah
Stayed here for one night only because we had an appointment in Kuningan City in the next morning. This is a decent budget hotel right in the middle of the business area, but unfortunately there are some cleanliness and maintenance issues in this hotel. The room is plain and simple, typical for a budget hotel, but I noticed some cleanliness and maintenance issues in here. For example, the walls had cracks and stains, debris found in one corner on the floor and the tile walls in the bathroom stall have molds on them which is pretty disgusting. I also found a stain on my bed sheet as if the bed linens hasn't been properly cleaned. The beds are comfortable however. The room maintenance and cleanliness should be improved, even for a simple budget hotel. Also I noticed two empty plastic cups on the desk but no tea or coffee provided in the room which is weird (only complimentary waters). The location is very good and strategic. It is located along Jalan Dr. Satrio in Kuningan where it is home to four shopping malls; Kuningan City, Mal Ambasador, ITC Kuningan and Lotte Shopping Avenue. You can reach one of these malls by foot, as long as the weather is good. Mega Kuningan is within 10-15 minutes walking. For eating, both Mal Ambasador and ITC Kuningan has several cheap food stalls in the food court as well as affordable restaurants, but if you're looking for more upscale restaurants you may head over to Lotte Shopping Avenue or Mega Kuningan. If you like Padang cuisine, there is a Sederhana restaurant just two blocks from the hotel. Service was good and the staffs were all friendly. We didn't try the wifi in the first day as it was interrupted by the bad weather. We only tried it in the next day and it worked fine. As the buffet restaurant was closed due to the pandemic, breakfast was delivered to our rooms. It was okay, although the options were limited when we first booked our room. Overall this is a decent budget hotel and a good place to stay in the middle of the city if you're in a budget, but the cleanliness and maintenance of the room should be improved to make it more nicer, even if it's just a budget hotel.

As expected, the room was satisfying. It was clean, crisp and quiet. The soundproofing was excellent. I got a birthday cake sent to my room, and the cake was deliciously made, very delicate in taste. Although the room was quite pricey, but the quality given was exceptional. The staffs were detailed, intuitive, well mannered and very helpful. The Coffee shop on the 52th floor was extraordinary located, private enough and the foods selections were tasteful as well. Unfortunately, the Fruits selections from the Breakfast buffet were quite poor. The freshly cut fruits were bland in taste, such as the basic fruits like watermelon, papayas, honeydew, which i think could be improved with better selective while accepting fruits sent by suppliers. But this was just minor issue, because i am those kind of fruit lovers. Will absolutely come back!!

My family is a regular guest of this hotel on their yearly visit to Jakarta. In this occassion, they stayed for several nights. Compared with the past visits, the room's interior and furniture are getting old and might need a renovation. The good things are none of the stuff were broken, big room and refrigerator, breakfast was provided, fast internet connection along with its strategic location in Kuningan business district. This is still a very good value compared with the price. But what impressed me the most is the honest, kind and responsible hotel staff from the housekeepers, manager to the front-end staff who found my family's lost wallet, kept it safe, informed this to me and returned it. Everything's inside the wallet was safe and we are very grateful for this honesty and responsibility. We will surely return again on our next visit.
