One can tell that, when new... this was an elegant French-style hotel. It is a bit rundown now, but still comfortable and clean, and well worth the price. The beds and linens are good and comfortable. The bathroom, with the marble vanity you'd see in luxury hotels, was clean and nice. The hotel manager's office is a Mongolian yurt on the terrace on the 3rd floor! Though breakfast WAS included, it was not very good. Just a spare Chinese style breakfast. No eggs, or bread. No coffee. Toiletries only were a toothbrush and paste. The location is good. Near a beautiful forest park, and on the same Hexing Road as the entrance to the Blue River scenic area. We will definitely stay here again... as Jiaxing offers more than enough attractions for 2–3 days.

The garden outside the gym is also quite beautiful. Cross the bridge directly opposite the hotel, and in about 5 minutes, you'll reach Haogu Pagoda. Climbing the pagoda offers panoramic views of the entire South Lake. There's a beautiful greenway around South Lake, with weeping willows and clear blue waters, making for a very pleasant stroll.
