We stayed here during the Chinese New Year with our child and elderly parents, mainly because we wanted to be close to the ancient city so we wouldn't need to drive or take a taxi. And indeed, it wasn't far at all; we could reach Jieyang Tower in just a 5-minute walk. Once you pass Jieyang Tower, you're in the ancient city. I booked this hotel four months in advance, and the price was comparable to a 5-star international hotel in a top-tier city. Chaoshan is just that popular right now! I can understand and accept that, especially during Chinese New Year.
