The receptionists are friendly and helpful. But the first night I checked in, I was a bit disappointed in the hygiene of the room as I saw a string of black hair in a towel and another string on my bed. My hair is blonde so it’s obviously not mine. I hope they’ll clean the room more thoroughly.
Also for the gym rooms their policy is also a bit backward as you’d have to borrow a key to the treadmill from the receptionist and return it.. I’ve never stayed at a hotel where you have to do so.
Breakfast was alright as all I needed was eggs and coffee.

Location is great, located in between Formosa Boulevard Station and Kaohsiung station.
It's within walkable distance to Liouhe Nightmarket.
You can get around the city by Youbike which is very convenient.
The staffs were not very friendly but they did their job.
Breakfast was not good so I didn't go on my second morning but just to have a coffee.
The hotel is clean, it is just quite old, but the room is very spacious.

Kangqiao has many branches in Kaohsiung. I used to stay in the front building of Kaohsiung Station many times. I couldn't book that one this time when I came to Kaohsiung, so I found this one which is closer to the Sanduo business district! I chose a deluxe suite for the room. There is an entrance hall first when entering. It's a small apartment, the sofa can fit 2 seats very conveniently, and the desk is also very long! Once you enter, you can find the room, which is pretty big! Fortunately, I was given the room on the 8th floor, and there is no block from the building next door outside the window, so it's quite bright. Yes! The bathroom is also very big, but it feels like a home room, but in terms of CP value, it’s not bad! The only thing is that the station front building feels relatively new and clean! In terms of facilities, there are 2 sets of washing and drying facilities! And notify the front desk in advance and they will put it back in your bag for you to pick up when you come back! Not bad!
The location is also good, just 2 steps away there is a larger shopping mall with many restaurants. There is also a night market nearby, which is good!
Only their breakfast is really not flattering! There are only two ”hot” foods, cabbage and braised pork. The most ridiculous thing is that there is no smoke when you take it out, and it is cold when you put it back! The only hot thing in the whole place. It must be bread, because it can be heated in the oven...! So for the next two days, I went out to find a breakfast shop to buy breakfast! In addition, there was a late-night snack in the station front hall before, but there is no such thing here. !
Overall, the price is still acceptable, but if I had a choice, I would still choose the Zhanqiankan!

The air-conditioning is not cold enough, but the items are fully classified. Not only the needs of women are taken into consideration, but also the needs of boys. The extra price for breakfast feels that the cost is too high, but the breakfast nearby is convenient and the environment is friendly!

The staff is very kind. There is a very pungent fragrance when you enter the room. The sound insulation of the room is very poor. In room 305, the sound of mechanical operation is very loud. In the morning, there is also the sound of running water. It is very loud and noisy. You can hear it clearly in the room. , there is no way to have a good rest at all. I won’t want to stay here again after my second stay.

The CP value is high, there are many bathroom facilities, and the space is large, but the only drawback is that if you book a room online, the check-out time is always 12 noon. If you are like us who will check in after midnight, check-out will be delayed. There will be an additional fee.
For example: Check-in at 03:00 in the morning (normal check-out is at 15:00 in the afternoon), but if you book online, you must check out at 12:00 noon.

Outstanding
CChoon HiangStaffs were very friendly. Rooms are spacious and clean. There is a rooftop bar for drinks and food. Hotel Indigo is in a very central location and easy access to most location of interest. There is the MRT station less than 30 min of the hotel enterance. A 24hr cafe, Mcdonald's and 7-11 store is just 5mins away so not worry about finding foods late at night. Highly recommended and will stay here if visit Kaohsiung again.
GGuest UserThe room is clean.
Even if you don't know something, such as how to use the TV remote control, they will kindly teach you.
The toilet has a washlet and has sufficient water pressure.
The room I stayed in had only a shower, but Kaohsiung is like summer in Japan all year round, so it didn't bother me as I usually take showers in the summer.
All amenities are available. There is one day's worth of supplies in your room, but if you stay for multiple nights, you will have to replenish what you use.
There is a convenience store across the street, so you can buy anything you suddenly need.
Depending on where you're going, there's probably a bus stop right in front of you, a cafe next door that sells sandwiches in the morning, and a popular shop along the street where people line up for lunch and dinner.
I think the location is good.
This was my first time in Taiwan in 4 and a half years since the end of the year just before the coronavirus, but I would like to stay there again when I go to Kaohsiung.
GGuest UserIt's just an ordinary business hotel, with everything you need, simple and good, um. There are a lot of restaurants nearby, and it's quite lively at night. If you stay here, you will be closer to the subway station and the airport, so you can transfer there.
GGuest UserThe place is ok.
The staff is just ok, I can't say they are too good either.
They have a non-sense pedantic rule that you must collect your dishes and put them in a tray place. I felt like I am in McDonalds or in a trashy human factory. Meanwhile the staff are sitting doing nothing.
As a guest, when I go to a hotel I want to relax, I have enough with tidying up and cleaning things at home, the least thing I want at a hotel is doing the same.
Breakfast itself is ok but milk tea is EXTREMELY sweet and no milk tea option without sugar so if you do not wanna get diabetes type B you won't be able to enjoy breakfast. The rest is mostly very high carbs suggary or fried fatty stuff except a small salad buffet and scrambled eggs. There was no coffee during my stay as coffee machine was broken so cannot rate it.
Checkin should be conveniently done with a kiosk downstairs but when I came it was broken too.
The place feels comfortable and private.
Water has only BOILING HOT water. So it does not have a mixer so you can shower for the first minute, then water is boiling super hot and there is no way to mix it up with cold water or make temperature cold down. It is funny cause travelling around the world I found some countries where it is difficult to get hot water but first time in my life finding a hotel where it is difficult to get cold water.
Location is just ok, it is a bit far from MRT but most staff is nearby.
GGuest UserThis hotel was excellent for a solo traveller. I can foresee some inconvenience if it was a couple or 2 friends staying here as there the bathroom is pretty much an open concept. i.e. would need to get changed inside the shower booth before coming out etc, and no proper door except a semi-opaque glass door.
Having said, I was by myself for my stay so it was perfect room for me. Bed is comfy, place was clean.
They have this machine check-in system which works fine, but I was a bit taken aback initially as I had to scan qr code, get internet and do things myself while just having reached the place with luggage etc. Not a biggie but would have been nice if the staff could check me in or offered a bit more help since there wasn't any other guests there either.
I didn't use any other facilities but during the day the lobby operates as a cafe, and there is a laundry room in B1. Location is convenient and near Kaohsiung train station, the station is currently going through a big construction so if I had known, I probably would have chosen to stay somewhere near Formosa Boulevard instead given it has 2 MRT lines. But hotel-wise, it is near the station and have convenience stores/fast food options in walking distance.
KKarieirakHotel staff were very friendly and check in was a breeze. We managed to get two rooms side by side which is a plus point. Every floor has a water dispenser which is very useful if we need hot water. There is a laundry room on the third floor with free washing powder to use. Breakfast buffet on the second floor was really great, my family loves the variety of the food provided and everyday some of the items will be changed too. Hotel is located in between Kaohsiung station and Formosa Boulevard station. Currently there are renovation going on at Kaohsiung station which cause a slight detour if we were to walk over there. Walking time are both around 10mins. Overall we are really satisfied with the stay.
陈陈浪宁I enjoyed my stay tremendously and at awe of the level of service from all the staff of this hotel. From the bellhop to the concierge to the maid, everyone here is professional and courteous only the highest class hotels in the US can match. Here they are doing it without expectations of tips...
I traveled solo and as a single guy and not expecting much. I am surprised at the service and comfort I got that are exceeding my expectations.
清清涼上市!It was close to the MRT station, you could take the U-Bike, and there was a famous breakfast restaurant within walking distance, so it was a convenient location for sightseeing.
If you stay for multiple nights, they don't clean the room, and you have to ask the front desk to change your bath towels. There was no refill of tea or water, but there was a water server on the top floor, so I used that.
The water in the shower room didn't get hot enough unless I let it run for a while.

GGuest UserHaving stayed at both Grand Hotels in Taipei and Kaohsiung, the Taipei location is hands down the premier location. The Grand Hotel in Taipei is genuinely a delightful establishment, perhaps my favorite hotel in all of Taiwan. However, the same cannot be said for the Kaohsiung location. It is clearly secondary and even a bit neglected. The hotel and its accommodations are fairly nice but at the same time feel quite outdated. The location is relaxing though, if you want to be able to sit by a pool or on a balcony looking out at a lake. Probably the biggest disappointment of my stay was that I was denied entry to the dinner buffet. People who were not guests at the hotel had already reserved all the seats. Luckily, I was able to secure a seat at a different restaurant in the hotel. I think hotel guests should have priority for seats at the buffet. When I was denied access to the buffet it felt like I was being treated as a second class citizen. “Everyone here has reservations…” the hostess told me. Well… how many of them were actually staying at the hotel? From what I could tell, not many of them were.
HhakimabdrahimOverall it was a decent budget hotel. I really like the location it’s easy to access and a lot of Halal eateries around there. I recommend booking this hotel if you are in Kaohsiung!
