A Disgraceful Experience – Avoid This Hotel This hotel displayed openly discriminatory behavior towards locals and Asian clients, and our stay was nothing short of appalling. We booked 3 rooms for the end of December 2025 and came prepared for a pleasant experience, but instead, we were subjected to unacceptable treatment. Upon arrival, the receptionist (a shorter man with glasses, seemingly a supervisor) was extremely hostile. While other foreign tourists were treated with utmost priority and respect, we were made to wait excessively long for check-in, while the person demanded to speak in English. Worse, they arbitrarily increased the security deposit, seemingly based on race. The treatment remained consistently degrading throughout our stay. We were summoned down to the lobby 3 times like we were nuisances—not notified with proper courtesy—and told the room rates had "unexpectedly" increased. This was highly unprofessional and demeaning. As paying guests, we expected basic civility, but instead, we were made to feel like an inconvenience. As locals, this level of rudeness and condescension in our own country is deeply disappointing. We paid upfront through Agoda and were entitled to a fair stay. Yet, we were made to feel inferior, especially considering the dismissive behavior toward us. This hotel’s behavior is unacceptable and inexcusable. Such an establishment has no place in the hospitality industry, and I strongly urge others—locals and foreigners alike—to take their business elsewhere. Supporting businesses like this only encourages their disrespectful and discriminatory practices. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

absolutely perfect location for chiang mai - the loveliest guy ever who was super accommodating and even had breakfast with him in the cafe which was 10/10 will be staying again next time i’m in chiang mai

Tap didn’t work, bad shower, bad air conditioning and the room was smelly. Far better options than this.

A budget Hotel breakfast is good if you get it. Beach is nearby Sliding glass doors don’t seem secure for us close to airport

Pleasant Stay with Excellent Service in Chaweng I recently stayed at Lotus Friendly Hotel in Chaweng with my wife and baby. The hotel boasts cleanliness and spaciousness, with daily room cleaning ensuring a comfortable stay throughout. The staff were incredibly helpful, providing us with valuable information. One of the highlights of our stay was dining at the hotel's restaurant, which offered delicious Mediterranean-style cuisine. The restaurant staff were exceptional, making our dining experience truly memorable. They were also incredibly friendly and accommodating towards our baby, which made us feel even more welcome. The hotel's location was convenient, with a Seven Eleven and several restaurants nearby, making it easy to access essentials and dining options. Additionally, the beach was just a 2-minute walk away, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful coastline effortlessly. While the city center was a bit further, a 20-minute walk provided an opportunity to explore more of Chaweng. The only minor downside was the noise at night, which is perhaps typical of the vibrant atmosphere in Chaweng. However, this did not significantly detract from our overall experience, as the hotel's other amenities and exceptional service more than made up for it. Overall, I highly recommend Lotus Friendly Hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Chaweng. The combination of cleanliness, spaciousness, excellent service, and convenient location makes it a top choice for travelers. We look forward to returning in the future.

Good location and really spacious rooms

Good hotel for this price. Big minus is that they don't have safeboxes even at the reception Yea, and a very(!) slippy floor. The beach is rocky and if you want to swim you should take a small walk along the water.

This hotel is great because of its location, dining experience, friendly staff, motorbike rental, cute cats, clean room, and beautiful palm trees. When I return to Koh Samui, I would definitely stay here again. 

No lift on top floor 4 flights of stairs , ,bath towels where old very shabby smelt and rock hard , be good for sanding wood ! !! The water goes off when busy times so cannot have shower or flush toilet Would not stay again Need new towels urgently and bathroom needs upgraded asap

This is a very friendly hotel, helpful in what ever you need. Transport, laundry… More quite down here but its a 10 min walk to the busy streets…
