The superior room felt very basic, only one bedside table and barely any easily accessible sockets. Fairly noisy rooms too, and looked fairly dated. Location is great if you want to access Tanote Bay and stay away from crowds, but very remote. A taxi into town would be 500 baht. Hotel offers free pick up from the port and some shuttle taxis for around 150 baht at fixed times tines. Staff was really lovely and funny. Food mostly mediocre, really hit and miss, and overpriced for what you get. A la carte breakfast.

Really great stay. The staff are very welcoming and professional. The superior room was big and clean. Hotel is right on the beach in Tanote Bay with good snorkeling out front. The Buddha dive school next door was super. Went on 4 dives. Location is on the opposite side of the island from the pier, so a little out the way from the main areas. Would be helpful to rent a scooter to get around. Overall, no complaints. Would stay again.

An incredible resort, delicious breakfasts, super friendly and wonderful staff. The lunches and dinners weren't very expensive but they were so delicious! The rooms we stayed in were small pods with beds and a shared bathroom in the middle, but for being in the middle of a jungle the number of bugs was so low inside the rooms. The beds are soft and they give you free water and coffee every day and have refreshments at very fair prices at reception. Amazing snorkeling - you're at a coral reef already! They rent out snorkels , but it would be better if you brought your own. And it's in Tanote Bay, so you can swim out and jump off the rock all you want! Renting a scooter was very simple and inexpensive. The beach isn't very long and it's a Pebble beach so make sure you wear your sandals. But the island is small and boat tours around the island to other beaches aren't expensive.

This hotel Is located on one of the best beaches for snorkeling but far from shops and restaurants. However you can ride a bike to all other locations on the island. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We lived in bungalow with a good sea view. The room is small and very basic however very authentic. Cleaning was done every day.

Very nice trip to Tonate Bay! Montalay Beach Resort is a small little hotel tucked away in the hills behind the beach. While the standard rooms are close to the restaurant, pool and beachfront, we stayed in a mountain hut further up the hills. It’s a short steep walk along a few steps and the views are fantastic! The balcony features a table and two chairs to enjoy the view, the room has a TV, fridge, hairdryer, and free complementaries. There’s a hook for a mosquito net, if you want to hang your own. The restaurant at the beach is lovely. Simple but good Thai food and a few international options. The staff were so super friendly!! Breakfast buffet was nothing out of the ordinary but also didn’t fall short in a selection of eggs, pancakes, fruit, yogurt, and warm stir-fried dishes. Right at the hotel is the diving center where you can rent snorkeling equipment or book a diving class. From this beach you can even walk into the waters with your gear, because the reef is so close to the beach. Even when snorkeling you will already see plenty of various fish- we even saw a turtle! All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and will make sure to come back soon!

Not expensive, newly renovated room, draft beer, delicious food

Everything was written down on room number, but we had a credit note at check-in and they did not want to settle it with the end and that was very disappointing! We were allowed to order a snack but it was for breakfast, we did not feel like it anymore, that was disappointing. Furthermore, the location is a bit remote since we did not rent a motorbike, we spent 500bht each time for a taxi

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. The hotel is very close to the beach, so it is very convenient for snorkeling. The hotel staff is friendly. There are many fish and corals on the beach. It is recommended to stay here 👍

Excellent hotel! We liked everything - the rooms are new and clean, the cleaning is good and timely, the breakfast menu is delicious, and the staff is smiling and always ready to help. I recommend it!

Situated in a beautiful bay with a live reef. The hotel itself - they cook deliciously, I didn't like that the breakfast was a la carte, with one dish to choose from, but it was very tasty. There are few sun loungers on the beach, only chairs and armchairs by the pool, a strange decision, considering that all the guests come to relax and swim. But overall, it is clear that they are trying very hard, trying to be service-oriented.

First of all, the bed is very small and close to the corner. After sleeping on it for two days, my arms hurt for two days because it was not wide enough. And there is no hair dryer. These are all acceptable. What is unbearable is that the front desk staff, a fat woman with short hair, slandered us that we lost the key, but in fact, she misunderstood and did not apologize. And the service attitude towards Chinese people, they ignored them. For white people, they wanted to kneel down to serve them.

The service staff is very good. Help find travel information and get cute prices for us. Clean, spacious rooms, delicious food, secretly a little far from the community. Suitable for people who want to relax. Sitting and chilling by the sea, it's true. Or anyone who wants to dive, we have it all in one place. 🩵😊
