Amazing
AAKCMThe most amazing breakfast buffet ever along with fantastic sea views make this a must stay for any visitor to the Motobu area.
Most of the buses including the airport shuttle stop directly at the hotel making it an excellent hotel choice for convenience. For those taking the airport shuttle for min. two paxs heading from the hotel back to Naha city, book the transport from the hotel’s tour desk for a 1,000 yen discount off the normal price for two tickets.
They have an excellent restaurant serving local Okinawan cuisine at an affordable price. This is the property that all international and local visitors will enjoy.
GGuest UserI thought I had a limited budget, so I didn't have much hope when I saw the photos at first, but when I actually arrived at the hotel, the service was amazing and very comfortable. Although the room was a bit old, it was also in the style of old money and very comfortable. There were few varieties of breakfast, basically Western and Japanese, no Chinese. The balcony was nice, and there was a tatami in the room for tea
SSANGKYUWe booked the Ocean Front View King Room w/ Club Access for 2 nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Major positives were: modern rooms/facilities, massive room size, decent sound insulation, we liked the pools/sunbeds (particularly the sea water pool on a nice day). We highly recommend taking Club Access; that was one of the highlights of out stay; was nice to have breakfast in peace and the food quality was on point w/ good range (we saw the buffet breakfasts were overcrowded and had major waiting times). Club Access gives you access to Orion draft beer throughout the afternoon which we enjoyed at the lunge balcony. Also, pretty much a dinner during the evening in the lounge. It was such a nice stay that we felt like we didn't have to/want to leave the premise. Nice product!
Minor negatives were the beach; particularly not being able to venture out beyond the restricted line. We felt some of the staff were undertrained. The wine and champagne in the lounge is very low quality; we stuck to draft beer and spirits.
GGuest User1. The hotel did not collect the deposit (a bit unexpected)
2. Alipay can be used at the hotel front desk and in-house stores
3. The hotel's breakfast coupons can be used for lunch (if you miss the breakfast time)
4. The airport bus can be delivered directly to the hotel entrance, and you can also buy bus tickets directly at the front desk when you leave
6. The hotel has a history of nearly 50 years, and the various facilities are indeed not new, but the overall maintenance is very good, and the room is also very clean and tidy! All the staff are very good!
GGuest UserI booked this hotel after being recommended by an acquaintance. It was even better than I imagined! I'd like to stay there for a few nights next time. The welcome drink juice and coffee were not very tasty, but I was glad that there were complimentary drinks in the room.
CChing Yee JeannyThis is a beautiful resort hotel. I like the room, the service, the breakfast and the hotel surroundings.
Staff at the front desk are so warm and helpful. When we notify them there's a problem with the bathroom door, the repairman is there within 5 minutes to fix it.
The breakfast buffet has such a large spread, Okinawan, western, Japanese and the English tea is of very high quality.
The hotel is only a short distance to Cape Manzamo and Cape Zanpa and also not a long drive to Churaumi Aquarium, so the location is quite convenient if you want to visit these places. There's a big parking lot within walking distance for the hotel guests.
I wish that I can return to this hotel some time in the future.
GGuest UserWe brought our 3+ years old boy on a 2 night stay during golden week (May 2024) and opted in for a dinner buffet on the first night. It was 2200 yen per adult n foc for my boy. The spread was limited but worth all its penny as the beef was so tender and juicy so i feasted on it. All other dishes were also very good.
The private beach was convenient and the water was so clear it looked like mineral water. There was a 50% discount voucher you can get from the hotel reception for the banana boat ride at the private beach and our boy enjoyed this and another ride. The young instructor who pulled us out on a jet ski for our water rides was friendly and went at a good speed for our 3 year old who was doing the water actitivties for the first time without us having to tell him to do so. He even went to the coral reefs and picked up a starfish n a sea cucumber to show our boy before returning it back to the sea. The water activites was affordable with the discount, price similar to Msia/Thailand/Indonesia resorts i have been to.
I was apprehensive booking this resort after reading the reviews on the state of the hotel showing signs of aging. However, the place was well maintained. There was an unpleasant smell when i opened the door to our room but its actually just the tatami which needed some airing. After opening the windows to let in the natural breeze, all was good. Cleaniness for toilet was good too; just need to figure out the temp control for the shower. The onsite onsen was clean and easily accessible at the basement, and wld have cost us at least 1200yen for a visit to a public onsite iin naha.
Totally recommend this resort for a fam outing with young children. I understand they have barrier free access rooms on the first floor of the resort so there were some families with elderly too.
GGuest UserThe white cottages are lined up in a place that is easily visible from the road, so you can arrive without getting lost. Check-in was thorough, so it took a long time, and I got bitten by a lot of mosquitoes, but I was warmed by the human touch.
The building I stayed in was in the style of an American house from the Showa era. There was a dining table, couch, and chairs, and the ceilings were high and comfortable. The electrical appliances seemed to be a mix of nostalgic and newer items. There were not many places to plug in electrical outlets. Is this because of the place's aging? The bathroom window wouldn't open, and the lock seemed broken, so as a sensitive city dweller, I was worried about security (it was fine, of course). It was a comfortable stay.
KKittykat1987A very nice and clean hotel. When we asked if we could have a room with a sea view, we got it straight away. The view was so fantastic. The hotel is very big and if you are not so good on your feet, you should book a room with a mountain view. The walk to the Ocean Tower is very long and takes a while to get there. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are spacious. The beds were comfortable, but unfortunately the bathroom was not that big. At one point there was a bag with towels in front of our room and we were told to take the bag into the room. Unfortunately, this bag remained in the room until we left and was not emptied. In the hotel you can go shopping, do your laundry and play with claw machines. There is also something for dog owners.
田田貓旅旅Wood Pecker Nakijin is a lovely place. The hotel rooms was converted from old train compartments which made them so special. It was like staying in a real trailer! Free SPA is provided that adds a plus to it. Moreover, the beach is just behind the hotel, it takes only few minutes to walk there.
One thing I believe Wood Pecker Nakijin needs to improve is the water temperature for shower. It was unstable during my whole stay there.
P.S. Nakijin Castle Ruins is so close to the hotel, it takes only about 10 minutes for driving and within 30 minutes walking distance from Wood Pecker Nakijin. If you stay in Nakijin Village, make sure you go there, It is worth seeing!
