The room is clean and quite large, not as cramped as in Tokyo. It has a washing machine and a microwave. The lady at the front desk is very nice and even let me check in early even if I arrived early. It's very close to the tram stop and within walking distance of Kiyomizudera Temple.

Good apartment-style hotel close to Shichijo station (about 10 mins walk). There are two Family Mart's on the main road near the hotel. We only saw the staff when we checked out as they were cleaning the rooms, otherwise never saw them as check-in is contactless as they send you check-in and check-out instructions via email the day you check-in. Room was spacious and there's laundry detergent, a big clothing rack, a small but useful kitchen and medium sized fridge. Bathroom also spacious by Japanese standards, but we found hair in a few shelves on the bathroom mirror/cupboard. The towels are also a little small and thin, but otherwise ok. A drunk guy followed us back one night from near Family Mart which was a little freaky, so we power walked back and quickly put the key in the lock (to get through the lobby) to get to the inner part of the building - downside of no 24/7 staff. No luggage storage but they do provide directions to a coin locker.
