Hotels Near Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto

Dear Sir/Madam, I recently had the opportunity to stay at your hotel, and I would like to share my experience with you. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for the exceptional design and comfort your property offers. Kengo Kuma’s architectural brilliance, with its use of natural wood, thoughtful lighting, and integration of art pieces, creates a stunning and serene atmosphere. Additionally, the comfort of the rooms, the quality of the materials, the size of the beds, and the premium linens were truly impressive. In terms of design and comfort, your hotel sets a remarkable standard. However, I did encounter several service-related issues that I believe could be addressed to enhance the overall guest experience. I would like to share these points in the hope that they are helpful for future improvements: 1. Breakfast Lounge and Sushi Area: The proximity of these two areas creates a strong odor upon entering, which can be unpleasant. Improved ventilation could easily mitigate this issue. 2. Food and Beverage Service After Breakfast: The lack of food and beverage service after breakfast hours was inconvenient. At the very least, providing a space for guests to enjoy tea or coffee would be a welcome addition. 3. Room Service Availability: After a long journey, I was surprised to learn that room service was unavailable and that only rice balls could be provided. Expanding room service options would greatly improve the guest experience. 4. Flexibility with Breakfast Hours: Due to the time difference, I arrived slightly late for breakfast at 10:10 AM and was informed that nothing could be served. Even my request for tea did not receive a clear response. Greater flexibility in accommodating guests dealing with jet lag would be highly appreciated. 5. Lobby Services: The inability to offer anything to drink or even host a guest in the lobby felt restrictive. This could be improved to make the lobby a more welcoming space. 6. Spa Experience: I was unable to experience the renowned Banyan Tree spa as it was fully booked. Expanding spa reservation availability would help meet guest expectations for this signature offering. In summary, while the hotel excels in design and comfort, the service offerings seem to be constrained by rigid rules and limited hours, which can detract from the overall guest experience. I strongly believe that adopting a more flexible, guest-centered approach would significantly enhance satisfaction. If the above issues were addressed, I would certainly consider staying at your hotel again during my next visit to Kyoto. We stayed for a good 3 nights at Terrace Kiyomizu Kyoto. The location was perfect for visiting Kiyomizu-dera and Sannenzaka within walking distance. The hotel has a paid parking lot for us to park our car, so we do not worry about finding it. The hotel has a rooftop view of Kiyomizu-dera and Nidec Kyoto Tower. The staff was very friendly, and we had a free gift on the checked out date.

The lobby was phenomenal! Great decor, tastefully done ! Room was a little stuffy !!! If you're driving, be aware it's hard to stop and unload as there is ONLY a main road in front of the hotel.

I am satisfied with the service. I would like to use it again thanks to the pleasant and friendly staff. I am grateful and will stay well. The transportation is also good.

My husband and I have been to Kyoto many times and stayed in various luxury hotels, but the Kyoto Bettei at the Sora-niwa Terrace this time is definitely our favorite and most satisfying one! Although the room rate is nearly 6,000 per night, it is worth the money. If it weren’t for the fact that the bed was a little too soft and not elastic enough, it would almost be a full score💯 The hotel is in an extremely advantageous location, with subways and trains nearby, small rivers and large rivers within easy reach, and beautiful scenery; The room has a private hot spring in Shijo Kawaramachi, which is extremely rare in a hotel in the city center, and the hot spring water quality is excellent. After taking a bath every day, I feel that my skin and body are in great condition; The service is first-class, the front desk guy is handsome and gentle, not only carefully and thoughtfully explaining all the details, but also recommending several particularly delicious restaurants for us (we have almost tasted them, great!) The hotel room is spacious and very comfortable, making us almost reluctant to go out... There is a warm outdoor terrace overlooking Kiyomizu Temple, a TV that can be projected, and a refrigerator full of snacks and various drinks for free... What surprised us most is that the hotel has a ”secret exit” only for guests. From here, you don't need to go through the front desk and go directly to the nearby streets. Every time you walk, you feel like you are on a ”Roman Holiday”. I strongly recommend friends who come to Kyoto to stay here. We will definitely choose this place again next time we come.

Very good location, everything is nearby! A lot of restaurants around:) The hotel provided a free evening cocktail at the rooftop bar, the view is epic! However, the room is a bit small (as usual in Japan), and breakfast is the same every day, a bit disappointing. Apart from that, overall is good!

A stylish and beautifully designed hotel with a 5star all rounded service experience. Its location is perfect, a 5-8min walk to the train station with many key attractions and restaurants within walking distance. I tried the spa service which was very relaxing and the masseur got my back pain sorted which was much needed. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at Good Nature Hotel when visiting Kyoto- it’s a great home away from home to come back to after a day of exploring Kyoto.

Very secure hotel, Honestly this hotel's service is amazing. Here's the run down on the hotel: • Laundry is affordable, The dryer is AMAZING • Hotel is secure, stops at level 3 every time which makes it safe so if you're feeling unsafe RUN to the counter. • Hotel offers complimentary buns(Croissant,etc.), water(Hot and Cold), coffee and miso soup • If you're really bored while waiting for laundry, just stay at level 3 there's board games + Manga • At level 1 there's a 7-11 which has literally everything you need • opposite the hotel is a convenience food restaurant, mostly costing below $10. • You can see the status of the washing machine+ dryer via your television Though a few things to note: • Room cleaning is done every 3 days

This hotel is located at a perfect location in Kyoto, with the Kyoto Station being 2-5 minutes away depending on walking speed. There are many eateries and restaurants around the area, and the availability of various malls such as Aeon enhanced the experience we had staying in Miyako Hotel. Self check-in kiosks were used, and payment for foreign tax can be done seamlessly there. They have 2 different buildings in which the rooms are situated, which was unfortunate for my family as we were assigned rooms in each of the different buildings. However, the rooms were big and comfortable, and I was happy with the stay. While mineral water was not given for each day, they had a water dispenser in each level of the rooms, which made it convenient to obtain water. Vending machines are also available for those who prefer to get their own bottle of drink/mineral water. The staff were very friendly with any questions or requests and were fast with assistance for baggage storage. The only downside could be the lack of coin washing machines in the hotel itself, and the next nearest available public coin washing machine was located about 5-7 minutes away from the hotel itself. It is not easy to find and can be quite a hassle to actually do any sort of laundry unless you are willing to pay for the in-house laundry service. Overall, it is definitely recommended to choose Miyako.
