"This hotel is super convenient, just across the street from Kyoto Station's Hachijo West Exit. Check-in is done via a self-service machine, which is quite smart. My room was 259, a triple room with three proper beds, not just extra rollaways. Being on a lower floor, opening the window meant a lot of noise. The room isn't huge, but the beds have open bases, so you can slide your luggage underneath, which saved a lot of space. The fridge hums quite loudly, so if you're a light sleeper, you might want to turn it off. Breakfast was a real highlight, with four different restaurant themes to choose from! On the first morning, I tried the Japanese-Western style, which had both Western salads and Chinese-style congee. The next day, I went for the Japanese breakfast, and the tofu was incredibly rich! Plus, there's an Aeon mall right behind the hotel, which is super handy for shopping."

"The location of the hotel is perfect. Very close from the Kyoto station. The room is quite spacious and very clean. I liked that there is natural hot spring. One thing I would like to point out that I stayed for 3 nights and 2 nights I could not use the wifi. I tried reconnecting several times but still didn’t work. I didn’t call the reception and just used data, but it would be great if they can fix any issues soon."

"My first stop in Japan was Kyoto, and I spotted a great deal on Ctrip for the Nono hotel. At just over 600 yuan, it was an absolute steal for Kyoto! I managed to snag a room for October 30th; all other dates were either booked solid or required an extra charge. With the autumn leaves season just around the corner, it's getting impossible to find a room. The hotel's onsen was wonderfully relaxing, and I even got to enjoy a complimentary 15-minute massage. They offer ice cream and lactic acid drinks at different times, and there's free ramen in the evening. Plus, the lobby has unlimited free drinks, coffee, and tea available all day. It truly made for an excellent travel experience. Any Dormy fan should definitely not miss out on this one!"

"The front desk had English-speaking staff who were very proactive and helpful with check-in. Unfortunately, that person wasn't there during check-out, and the others weren't as good. The hygiene was excellent, and the location is great, right next to Kyoto Station with a convenience store downstairs and a large department store across the street. However, the breakfast experience was really bad. It was too crowded, and we had to queue for a long time to get food. The seating area was also quite far from the serving station. They should really consider staggered dining times."

"I stayed here with my parents, and it was great! They have triple rooms, which, though not huge, are very clean, tidy, and comfortable. The location is excellent; there's a FamilyMart convenience store just a one-minute walk away, and a really delicious burger joint about three minutes away. Basically, it's convenient for everything. There's also a subway line nearby that goes directly to Arashiyama, about a ten-minute walk at most. Getting around by bus is easy too. My favorite part was the public bath; it was super clean and tidy. I hardly used the bathtub in our room, opting for the public bath instead."

"The hotel's location isn't ideal; its primary convenience is its proximity to public transport. You'll need to take a bus to reach most places, including Kyoto Station, despite a nearby bus stop.
Breakfast was abundant but lacked flavor. Upon check-in, we were assigned an older room on the second floor and had to request a room change due to the extremely noisy bathroom exhaust fan.
The gym charges a fee for each use, and the public bath, though clean, is quite small.
Housekeeping could be more flexible; for our four-night stay, the room was only cleaned on the fourth day. Cleaning on the third day would have been much more practical. Furthermore, breakfast required selecting a fixed time slot with a voucher."

Every staff member I encountered had an excellent attitude, the room was spotless, and even though the turndown service only provided a bottle of water, it was a pleasant and thoughtful touch. Thai brands truly excel in their service consciousness and aesthetic sense. The room itself was incredibly comfortable, and with no other guests in the public lobby areas, I thoroughly enjoyed the bliss of reading a book alone.

MM501724****I stayed in a twin tatami room on a ladies-only floor. There aren't many rooms on each floor, and the shared restrooms, vanity area, and shower rooms are all accessible via key card through one main entrance. These shared facilities were spacious and immaculately clean. This was my first experience staying in a hotel with shared bathroom facilities, but my stay was very comfortable and peaceful. The subway station is right outside the hotel, and a bus stop is just a five-minute walk away. It's less than a 20-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station, and you'll pass Higashi Hongan-ji Temple on the way.
There are many izakayas and Japanese restaurants in the vicinity. The Wagyu beef I had on my first night was absolutely amazing. If the weather isn't too hot, you can walk to popular sights like Kiyomizu-dera, Sannenzaka, and Hanamikoji in about 20-30 minutes. If you get tired, there are plenty of bus stops along the way. A bus ride costs 230 JPY, and I used my digital Suica card to simply tap and go. Fushimi Inari Shrine is also easily accessible; you can take the subway from the station right outside the hotel, and it's a very short ride. When I was in Osaka, I didn't carry any cash at all, relying entirely on my digital Suica card for all transactions.

The hotel is new, and the rooms are quite spacious. The bathrooms feature a separate wet/dry area, and the bedding is very comfortable.
The hotel provides complimentary afternoon tea from 3 PM to 4:40 PM, and the Häagen-Dazs ice cream was delicious. Free alcoholic beverages are also available in the evening.
For consecutive stays, room cleaning needs to be requested by 9 AM at the latest. This policy takes a bit of getting used to.
The garden downstairs is charming. Elevator access is key-card controlled, and the rooms offered complimentary movies for viewing. While the selection wasn't huge, there were definitely a few enjoyable options.
Overall, it offers great value for money.

GGuest UserThis was our first time staying in Kyoto so we decided to stay near Gion. This was a great choice of hotels because it was close to Kiyomizudera temple and Gion. 10 minute wallk. It was also close to the train station which was about a 7 minute walk. We loved the vibe of this hotel. The lobby was open with a coffee bar and bakery also located in the lobby. So many great choices if you love bakeries. There was also a nice restaurant which was a bit on the pricier side and served mostly Italian food. I think this hotel caters mostly to Westerners. There was a great breakfast bar in the morning which you can pay extra for. We did and it was well worth it. To start your day with not having to think about where or what to eat and having a variety of foods and coffee just waiting for you in the morning was great. They had a really cool roof top bar which is great for tapas and drinks. The staff was great as well and helped out with reservations for cars, restaurant suggestions and help with our luggage. Special shout out to Takumi who helped check us in, told us about special attractions and helped with our luggage. The rooms were small for Western standards but the beds were comfortable and of course extremely clean. We loved that they provided tooth brush, shavers, etc. The rain shower was great after a long day of walking and exploring Kyoto. They also had a lot of washers and dryers which we did use prior to leaving. We definitely would stay here again if we ever get another chance to come to Kyoto. Beautiful city and a wonderful hotel to stay.

The location is super convenient, just 400 meters from the station, with a plethora of dining options, supermarkets, and shopping malls right nearby. Getting around was a breeze! The hotel staff provided incredibly warm and fantastic service. We'll definitely be back!

GGuest UserThe hotel's location, just 500 meters from Kyoto Station, is incredibly convenient. With Don Quijote and Isetan Department Store nearby, all your shopping needs are easily met. The location truly can't be beat. The hotel offers a smoking room, a public bath facility, a bar, and a restaurant. Upon check-in, guests can enjoy free soft drinks at the bar's soft drink area before 5:30 PM, and you can even take them back to your room, which is a fantastic perk. Each floor also has vending machines and ice makers, and some floors offer laundry facilities.
Breakfast options are somewhat limited, but the quality is high. They provide a set meal served in a three-tiered bento box, with four small dishes on each tier; the taste is perfectly acceptable. The food is generally a mix of Japanese and Western styles, so if you're not accustomed to these cuisines, it might not be the best choice for you.
The hotel rooms are a bit small, but they are compact and well-equipped. For room cleaning, you have two options: full cleaning or partial cleaning. However, I found that daily housekeeping after check-in was a bit superficial, with some details overlooked. I would suggest the hotel strengthen its staff training in this area. Despite this minor point, it's generally a great hotel.
Regarding some negative reviews I saw before booking, which mentioned front desk staff discriminating against foreign tourists, I personally experienced no issues at all. In fact, I'd even describe them as enthusiastic (perhaps because I speak Japanese?). For me, their service attitude was certainly satisfactory. I also noticed that many of the negative reviews were concentrated in 2023. Perhaps there's been a change in management? I'm not sure, but personally, their attitude and service were impeccable.

Down the hill should be some international restaurants at Park Hyatt Kyoto another luxurious five star hotel. Breakfast bento boxes not too appetising and not much food selections for in room dining as well. But the neighbourhood was quiet and nice.

TTinaI really like this hotel; it's a quiet oasis in a bustling area. The transportation is very convenient, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. There's a noodle shop right behind the hotel that always has a long line. To the left of the noodle shop, across the street, there's a drugstore where you can park your husband at the hotel and shop to your heart's content. You can find almost anything that's out of stock on Xiaohongshu there. The room was much larger than the ones I stayed in Osaka, and it even had a microwave and a washing machine, so you could have breakfast right in your room. However, I definitely don't recommend the hotel's breakfast; for over 100 RMB, you just get scrambled eggs, and the taste is questionable.
