This hotel is 0.7 mi (1.1 km) from Nijō Castle and 0.7 mi (1.1 km) from Kawaramachi Street. Take in the views from a rooftop terrace and make use of amenities such as complimentary wireless internet access and concierge services. Featured amenities include luggage storage and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Make yourself at home in one of the 8 guestrooms featuring refrigerators and flat-screen televisions. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and digital programming is available for your entertainment. Private bathrooms with shower/tub combinations feature deep soaking bathtubs and complimentary toiletries. Conveniences include safes and electric kettles, and housekeeping is provided daily.

"The rooms are very new and very big. The location is very good, it only takes 10 minutes to walk to Nishiki market and shopping street, and there are several cafes around. There are Chinese people on duty at the front desk. There are no curtains in the Japanese-style room, so the light comes in very early in the morning. Those who want to sleep in are recommended to choose a European-style room."

GGuest UserMy wife and I booked the Classic Room for 3 nights in April 2025. We thought this was one of the best hotels we stayed at during our trip. From the moment you enter the hotel, you are welcomed by the hotel staff. You leave your bags with them and you walk up to a separate reception area where you are seated and offered tea and macarons. Check in is conducted while you sip your tea. After you get your keys, you go up to your room and your luggage bags are already there. We were very impressed by the reception. The room itself is fairly sizeable and offers a cabinet of Fauchon snacks. We had a good view of the alley behind the hotel that was lined with Sakura trees. We could also see the mountains in the distance. The location of the hotel is also great. It is located about a 5-10 minutes walk from downtown Kyoto and about a 5 minutes walk to Kiyomizu-gojo station. We also had breakfast which included a free flow selection of bread and pastries like French croissant, baguette and brioche. You also get a fruit plate, salad, and omelette. If you stay for more than 1 night, you also get a premium breakfast menu for your 2nd night onwards. We will definitely return to this hotel the next time we are in Kyoto.

SShuk YeeStayed for a few nights, really comfortable, heard the sounds of birds and cicadas every day, all the staff were nice and polite, had their own hot springs, after playing you could soak in the hot springs in your room, and the hotel could get your luggage from Kyoto Station round trip to the station, very convenient, because Jiashuiyuan is on the other side of the hotel, like a paradise, the only bad thing is that some insects or geckos will accidentally enter the room, because I am afraid of insects, so have called the hotel The personnel help with it, but basically me, the hotel is really nice.

SShenmilurensiA very Japanese old-money style hotel. The hotel lobby is in an alley. There is a small narrow road in the inconspicuous entrance. There is a kind of winding beauty. Entering the hotel lobby is a very high-end minimalist beauty. Facilities: The decoration is very new from hardware to software Hygiene: No odor, everything is new Environment: In the city center where every inch of land is valuable, this hotel does not have a bathhouse. For a place with bathing culture, it is a bit lacking, but there is a Michelin restaurant Service: The service is very good In addition, the breakfast is a set meal, Western and Japanese, it is recommended to choose Japanese

GGuest UserI prefer traditional Japanese hotels. Okura Villa is a good value option. Kyoto has height restrictions, so most hotels are four stories high. This fourth-floor suite with a terrace facing the shrine is definitely the best choice. I imagine meditating on the terrace every morning, enjoying a cup of coffee, gazing at the shrine and mountain views, and listening to the chirping of no fewer than seven or eight bird species. This vacation is worth it. The mini bar is free, and the plum wine in the picture is delicious. Okura's traditional origami rabbit and turtle bedside decorations bring good luck every night. Looking down from the fourth floor, you can see the hotel's own Japanese garden. Kyoto's symbol is carved into the sand, serving as a subtle Kyoto welcome. Attentive service begins the moment you enter. Guests are seated on the sofas, and hotel staff will come to check them in. The hotel is undoubtedly very customer-centric. There are many city walks around the hotel, and you wouldn't be able to see them all even if you stayed a week... There are some downsides. The hotel only has one French restaurant with limited options for meals. The gym is very small, and there's no swimming pool. However, considering all other aspects, it's excellent. The overall experience is very ideal. Then I'll deduct half a point for the facilities. 😊

KKoji KanekiThe hotel is conveniently located, close to Kiyomizu Temple, Nishiki Market and other attractions, making it very convenient for shopping and dining. The room is clean and comfortable, with Japanese-style decoration full of Kyoto style. The service staff is very friendly and the local food they recommend is also very delicious. Overall, it is worth staying here. I will choose this hotel again next time I come to Kyoto!

GGuest UserBetter than expected!!! Very spacious First of all, the transportation is very convenient, just one minute walk from Gojo Station, the public areas are beautifully landscaped, our room just happened to see Kyoto Tower and Higashi Honganji Temple downstairs (worth a visit, very large and exquisite), Nishi Honganji Temple is a world heritage site but has not been redecorated, not as beautiful as Higashi Honganji Temple. The only thing is that the water temperature is not particularly stable, but it is not too cold. I guess it is due to the age of the hotel. The air conditioner is a bit noisy at night. We turned off the air conditioner to sleep, but it did not affect the room temperature, it was still very warm

GGuest UserHighly recommended! A family experience that is very satisfying. I am very grateful to my friend for recommending this Kyoto Machiya. The double-storey house can accommodate four of us, as well as outdoor baths. Although I only stayed for one night, I will definitely stay again next time I return to Kyoto!

TTaitaiFacilities: Very good Cleanliness: Cleaned very well every day Ambience: Great location, I like the hotel design Service: Initially, the service was okay, but I felt a lack of responsibility. I forgot to pick up my child's allergy medicine when I left the hotel on Tuesday. They called and promised to ship it to Four Seasons Osaka the next day at the latest. They called on Thursday afternoon and were told it hadn't been shipped yet. After repeated calls, they finally delivered it to the hotel on Thursday evening. I'm speechless. Is Four Seasons service this bad these days?
