__WeChat431667****A 'Sleepless' hotel with such a great vibe, you'll never actually lose sleep! The room isn't huge, but it's clean, well-maintained, and smartly designed. The separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom are a huge plus. I stayed for three nights, and my sleep score was above 90 every single night. Plus, the location is fantastic – just a 2-minute walk from the subway, making it convenient to get anywhere. Next time I'm in Kyoto, I'll definitely choose this hotel again.

KKawintopA Perfect Blend of Tradition and Comfort in Kyoto During my recent stay at Saka Hotel Kyoto, I was immediately struck by its peaceful surroundings and inviting atmosphere. Located in the charming Higashiyama neighborhood, it offers an ideal launching point for discovering Kyoto’s historic sites. Despite being so close to famous temples and shrines, the hotel maintains a tranquil setting that feels worlds away from the bustle of the city. From check-in onward, I was warmly welcomed by the professional and attentive team. Their devotion to creating a memorable guest experience was evident in every conversation. Whether offering sightseeing suggestions or promptly assisting with any need, they made me feel completely at home. My room showcased an attractive fusion of modern design and traditional Japanese elements. Soft earth tones, tasteful décor, and well-chosen furnishings created an atmosphere that was both chic and peaceful. The spacious bathtub, in particular, stood out as the perfect place to unwind after wandering Kyoto’s centuries-old streets. Although I didn’t have a chance to sample the hotel’s dining options, every other aspect of my stay was faultless. The exquisite decor, the serene environment, and the staff’s unparalleled service exceeded all my expectations. If you’re seeking a sophisticated, relaxing retreat that still allows you to easily explore Kyoto’s rich cultural heritage, Saka Hotel Kyoto is an excellent choice.

GGuest UserI stayed in a twin tatami room on a ladies-only floor. There aren't many rooms on each floor, and the shared restrooms, vanity area, and shower rooms are all accessible via key card through one main entrance. These shared facilities were spacious and immaculately clean. This was my first experience staying in a hotel with shared bathroom facilities, but my stay was very comfortable and peaceful. The subway station is right outside the hotel, and a bus stop is just a five-minute walk away. It's less than a 20-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station, and you'll pass Higashi Hongan-ji Temple on the way. There are many izakayas and Japanese restaurants in the vicinity. The Wagyu beef I had on my first night was absolutely amazing. If the weather isn't too hot, you can walk to popular sights like Kiyomizu-dera, Sannenzaka, and Hanamikoji in about 20-30 minutes. If you get tired, there are plenty of bus stops along the way. A bus ride costs 230 JPY, and I used my digital Suica card to simply tap and go. Fushimi Inari Shrine is also easily accessible; you can take the subway from the station right outside the hotel, and it's a very short ride. When I was in Osaka, I didn't carry any cash at all, relying entirely on my digital Suica card for all transactions.

CChaopiaoxianshengThe location is pretty good, as Google Maps directs you via main roads, so no worries about safety. The last stretch is a small residential lane, which is fine, although it's a bit tough to drag luggage on the main road. Otherwise, it's very easy to find. The front desk has a ********* guy who speaks Chinese, which is incredibly convenient for Chinese-speaking travelers. The room isn't small; it's perfectly adequate. There's also a children's park nearby where you can go swing, and a convenience store and subway station are both very close, making transportation super convenient. You can even stroll along the Kamo River at night. The only downside is that the self-service washing machine is a bit finicky, but the front desk staff were very helpful in getting it to work, so a big thank you for their service!

ГГряникThank you very much, we really enjoyed our stay with you! Your townhouse was very cozy and fully equipped. Comfortable house clothes, robes and slippers for any occasion (for the street, balcony, toilet and home) made our stay comfortable. The beds, although on the floor, were very comfortable. The mats felt nice and warm. The bathroom with wooden trim looks unusual and stylish. The small rock garden adds a nice accent. The Japanese-style breakfast was an interesting experience, especially the process of making soup yourself. The code entry on the door was very convenient. Thank you!

XXqlKinda upset that the cabinet is full and there’s no place to hang my clothes. The cushions on the tatami has lots of stains which feels so dirty. It makes me wonder if the curtains are clean too. The staff at the reception that I met only understands Japanese, it’s challenging to communicate and I have to keep using a translator which is a hassle. I forgot my keys on one of the nights and couldn’t dial through any of the numbers that is on the window of the reception. Stood there for approximately 20 minutes then I tried to check if I can send a message instead. I felt devastated. Perhaps a phone can be placed outside so that guests can use it to call when there is an emergency? Thankfully I could send an iMessage using iPhone and the staff came to assist with opening the door for me in about 15 minutes which is pretty quick.

AAnonymous UserVery simple hotel with basic facilities, only 3 rooms each level. Room size was actually decent with enough space for a small table. Very affordable prices, 10 mins walk to either rail by different operator. Would recommend for simple travelers!! There’s also a coin washing machine in the hotel!

GGuest UserWe really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Briller, the location was comvenient and very easy to get all around Kyoto either by subways or the city busses, which all had stops within a few minutes walking-distance. We especially loved the shopping nearby that was recommended to us by the receptionist. The AEON mall was 7 minutes away and had tons of food spots as well as great shops. All the amenities at the hotel were great as well, and staff were all very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Kyoto!

NNatali668Excellent ryokan. Yes, it is a bit old, but this is the best place to feel the whole atmosphere) Everything is clean inside and in the rooms, the Onsen is also tidy and has everything you need. The hosts are very nice people. They helped us with dinner, then we decided to quickly look for fireflies and they gave us a flashlight and showed us where to go. In the morning at breakfast the owner walked around the tables and wrote down who to take to the bus stop at what time. And so the stop is a 15-20 minute walk through very beautiful places) when checking out they charged a tax of 700 Yen. But this is normal in Japan, and it was indicated when booking

GGuest UserThe location was very convenient as it is located just one block from the main street and the train station. However the journey to get the key for the room was a puzzle, they sent the instructions in English but the touch screen was totally in Japanese with no eng option. It wasn't easy to correlate the symbols there with the instructions provided, especially as the key room didn't have air conditioner and the hot air became very soffocating (we suggest to put instructions in English on the side to make this experience bearable) The room was fine, but it wasn't clean at all and the ceiling had mould on the corners due to poor ventilation. Since day one we found spiders inside the room, probably due to lack of cleanliness. Our daughters and I were bitten by several mosquitoes as well. The toilet space was very miniscule, yet it served its mission. There were not enough spoons and forks for our family even when we specified the amount of people staying in the room. Not to mention the beds were not very comfortable. On the last day, I was very surprised they sent an email requesting to leave before 10 am, mentioning they had a tight cleaning scheduled, we thought it was odd that the departure time was 10 am yet they wanted us to go before that. We had to leave early anyway but we still thought it was odd. But I think the rules just have to be followed and let people leave on the previous time agreed. It was a hotel that served its mission overall and with an excellent location yet the cleanliness and room overall has a lot to make it better for the comfort of its clients... But at this moment I would not recommend this hotel
