The Royal Park Hotel Kyoto Umekoji

This was my second time staying at the Umekoji Park Hotel. It's incredibly convenient, just a two-minute walk from Umekoji-Kyotonishi Station. There's also a bus stop nearby at Umekoji Park Station, making it easy to get around. I booked a superior twin room, which was quite spacious for Japan, and very quiet at night. Excellent value for money. As for minor drawbacks, the windows in all rooms don't open. Also, there's a green light from an equipment sensor on the ceiling at night, but personally, I didn't find it to affect my sleep much.

This is an excellent place to stay for railway enthusiasts, right next to the Kyoto Railway Museum, with an aquarium and Umekoji Park nearby. Transportation is convenient; it's just one subway stop from Kyoto Station, and you can take a direct subway to Arashiyama from right outside. The room is quite spacious with a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom. There's a FamilyMart and Starbucks downstairs. The lobby even has a train simulator that kept the kids entertained multiple times. Very satisfied!

The room was great and offered excellent value for money. The front desk staff were friendly, the hot springs were incredibly comfortable, and the room service was top-notch. Plus, the hotel is conveniently located near the subway station. Definitely worth staying at when you visit Kyoto.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic! We booked a triple room on the top floor. The room came equipped with a fridge (for chilling), a bathtub, a safe, and an iron. The toilet and shower were separate. There's a small public bath on-site, and you can check the real-time status of the hotel's washing machines on the TV and website. Each floor also has an ice machine and a microwave. The soundproofing is excellent, and the Daikin air conditioner works perfectly. Plus, there's a Sharp humidifier/purifier in the room. There's a FamilyMart convenience store downstairs and an 'Echigo GO' arcade game in the lobby. The front desk can also provide change. Its location is super convenient, right next to the Kyoto Aquarium and Kyoto Railway Museum, as well as Umekoji-Kyotonishi Station. It's only 150 yen to Kyoto Station, or about a 25-minute walk. There's also a 7-Eleven and a bus stop on the main road nearby. All the front desk staff speak English, and you need your key card to use the elevator. For less than 500 yen a night, this hotel offers incredible value for money and an exceptional experience. I'm definitely planning to stay here again when I visit Kansai.
