Outstanding
GGuest UserThe hotel is next to Sanzen-in Temple, and is a Japanese inn style. It was a bit cold to stay at night in December. The area is not large. I wanted to see the red leaves of Sanzen-in Temple, but they were almost fallen when I arrived on the 5th. If you want to experience it, just stay for one night. Overall, it is not as convenient and comfortable as a star hotel. Breakfast and dinner are not bad, but not amazing. Take it as a Japanese cultural experience.

AAnonymous UserA perfect experience! The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, right near the subway station. The annex has a dedicated check-in area, and they offer Chinese-speaking service, which is fantastic! The minibar is well-stocked with free drinks and alcohol, very generous of the hotel. The provided pajamas are also super comfortable~ Most importantly, the private onsen in the room is amazing. After a long day of exploring Kyoto on foot, relaxing in your own private bath in your room is pure bliss ā¤ļø 100% perfect!

MM49868****The room is a duplex, with two floors. The large bathtub with circulating water is downstairs for bathing, and the upstairs is for sleeping. On the first day, we arrived late and couldn't rent a kimono, so the store owner gave us yukatas, which are almost the same as kimonos. At least we got the experience. It rained that night, and we ate and drank in the house, listening to the sound of rain in the yard. It was particularly healing. The breakfast the next morning was particularly rich and I highly recommend everyone to experience it. It's authentic Japanese cuisine, the tamagoyaki is especially delicious, and there's also grilled salmon and soup. In short, it's very rich. I feel that the store owner really puts a lot of effort into it. What I care about most when I bring my children is cleanliness and hygiene, a good environment, and excellent service. I'm not very good at English or Japanese, but the store owner was very patient in answering my questions. I will definitely stay here again next time I go to Japan.

EElNinoooooooooThis hotel was recommended by a friend, and even though it's a 4-star, it's far better than some 5-star establishments. Location: Excellent. It's close to the subway and shopping malls, with various major brands right across the street. It's also near Kiyomizu-dera Temple, just a few minutes by taxi, making it perfect for getting an early start during autumn foliage season. Facilities: Well-equipped. It boasts two rooftop onsen baths, one indoor and one outdoor. The lobby offers complimentary drinks, coffee, and ice, available for self-service at any time. Cleanliness: Spotless. Environment: Very good. The rooms have a lovely Japanese style, though they are a bit small. Service: Quite good.

IiamnotdelicateThe basic room type isn't in the main building; you have to walk up to the main building each time to have breakfast or soak in the onsen (hot spring). And it's not a real onsen; my friend's superior room was the real onsen. We were given a small room at the back of the hotel, but thankfully there weren't too many graves. When I asked the staff at the entrance to take photos for me, they were very reluctant and had a sour face. At night, on my way back to my room from my friend's, the receptionist on duty in the lobby was also very rude. Overall, I was dissatisfied with the service. The facilities are excellent, very new, and the hotel is quite small, but that's typical for Japanese hotels. The decor is also very nice; the aesthetics are on point. There are at least three cemeteries and a bunch of shrines nearby; bring some amulets if you like.

JJohn PatinThe location was great, close to shops, restaurants, night life, blah blah blah. Typical Japanese hotel experience: tiny room, 100% plastic bathroom, pick up your pillow, pjs, amenities in the lobby… If you want your room cleaned, it is a four-hour process from 11:00am to 3:00pm during which time you cannot use your room and the door to your room remains propped open.Ā  But…free booze from 6:00-8:00pm more than makes up for all of the other inconveniences!

XXiqiyangyangziThe hotel service was top-notch, and the room facilities were excellent. Having tattoos, I opted for a room with a private hot spring, and the environment was wonderfully private and comfortable.

OOliaaaWe’ve had the best stay at Ryokan Hirashin! The room was very clean, the size amazingly big, futons very comfortable, there was a big pot that always holds hot temperature. The staff very friendly and welcoming. Onsen was amazing, too. The location is just perfect! It’s 2 stops from Kyoto station and so close to Nishiki market and then also Gion district, plus very convenient if you’re a nighttime lover cuz you can just walk back home. It takes kinda same time to go to other further places like Fushimi Inari or Arashiyama, as it’s located kinda in the middle of them all. I’d say the pictures don’t really give you the vibe, it feels much better when you’re in there. To sum up, it’s a traditional looking ryokan room but in the hotel building, which in convenient cuz you don’t need to be too quiet as in more traditional ones. I highly highly highly recommend this place, we’ve really had the best time here!

DDmitry NateWe stayed at this guest house in early March. We were delighted! The guest house is located near the bus stop, you can walk and enjoy the views of the village. There is also a transfer. The dinner was simply gorgeous, delicious miso, a large selection of vegetables and broths. Breakfast was also good, although not so varied. Very beautiful garden. The guest house itself is in a traditional style šŸ˜ the owner gave us instructions and a tour, was very polite and friendly. The guest house has some rules, for example, keeping quiet, which creates an atmosphere of complete relaxation. The room itself is clean, the bed linen is fresh, there are instructions on how to lay out the futon. We were given yukatas and warm sweaters, towels and accessories for washing and brushing teeth. There are hair dryers too. There are two onsen, male and female, they alternate to visit each. When we were there, the onsen opened on schedule, but there is enough time to stay. The barrel with hot water is simply gorgeous, in the open air, around the forest. It is forbidden to take photos and videos on the onsen territory. Sorry for breaking the rules, but I wanted to capture this beauty at a time when no one was there. The only thing I missed was some kind of bench next to the onsen in the open air so that you could cool off and sit in the hot water again. But this is probably a purely Russian habit. We were very pleased with our stay in this guest house.

KKC333We loved our stay at Hotel the Mitsui. Super nice and zen design . Absolutely adore their lobby area, which I think is designed by Andre Fu. Always drawn into his work somehow. Breakfast food was okay, but the view really made up everything l. Super relaxing & beautiful Service was great. Most of them were able to speak English proficiently. There’s a thermal spring at their basement, which you have to call the reception before you go to ensure there’s enough space. Everything was well prepared, including swimwear, disposable underpants, towels, water, etc. Since they control the # of people, everyone has their own space and it still feels very private. Room is nice with many details. Love their huge selection of pillows available for guests. It’s not huge, but the space is well used. Location wise, I wouldn’t say it’s the most convenient, but if you take a cab, everything is reachable in 20 mins max, so it’s not too bad. There are still good restaurants and touristy places to go that are in walkable distance, so it’s not middle of nowhere. Overall, fantastic experience which I will recommend for others!
