Outstanding
GGuest UserHighly recommended! The hotel room is very large, and the price includes breakfast and dinner. You can see the pictures. The taste is very delicious and the portion is super large. You can eat as much as you want! The taste and product are no less than Michelin restaurants. The hotel is very clean and has built-in and external hot springs. It is quiet and comfortable. The boss's family will drive us to the mountain. There are very few rooms in the hotel. It is operated by the boss's family. The boss is very kind to help us move our luggage to the second floor, and all the dishes are made by him. After breakfast the next morning, he packed a large bread with his own jam and brought it to us on the road. It is really touching to feel such food, service, accommodation, and human warmth in Japan! It is recommended that you spend 1-2 nights in Kyoto to experience it. Be careful to eat less when you go, because you will really eat too much!

GGuest UserThis is the kind of traditional Japanese inn I love. The bathhouse is located outside the residence, keeping the room from getting damp and clogged. There's also a sense of ritual about going to and from the bathhouse. The bathhouses are separate for men and women, and shoes need to be removed at the entrance, so if you're shy, you can avoid them by seeing slippers by the entrance. Mornings and late evenings are the most pleasant, and rainy days are especially pleasurable. The breakfast and dinner meals are even better than those at Kyoto ryokan (Japanese inns). The ingredients are incredibly fresh, and the utensils and presentation are beautiful. Sanzen-in Temple is just a short walk away, so you can go early, but I recommend Hosen-in Temple, less than 100 meters away. Refreshments are included with your admission ticket, and it's rightly called the ”Picture Frame Garden.” Sit quietly for a long day and relax.

MMumutu0417My Kyoto trip was particularly satisfying with this Kyoto townhouse. It had a garden, a private hot spring bath, and was brimming with Japanese charm. The breakfasts were especially delightful, with a wide variety and different dishes each day. After breakfast, there was also a traditional Kyoto matcha and carefully selected sweets; the owner even patiently explained the proper way to drink the matcha. It's a bit far from the subway, but there are several bus stops nearby, making it quite convenient. Strolling along Kyoto's charming streets and discovering hidden gems of little shops was also a delightful experience.

DDisanshuaiThis hotel is absolutely wonderful! Tucked away in a bustling part of Kyoto, it surprisingly offers a peaceful retreat. The top-floor bar has a really stylish design and the night views are absolutely stunning. Our king room was spacious and comfortable, and a soak in the bathtub melted away all our travel fatigue. Staying here with my partner, we really got to experience Kyoto's relaxed pace – it was incredibly romantic!

GGuest UserThis was an absolutely amazing place, very well located and it has a lot of included services. The only thing that disappointed me a little bit was that men and women have different times for the onsen, and men get the whole night (from 23 to 7am). It would be more fair if the schedules alternated. But overall it was still amazing and they deserve 5 stars

CCLHChanThe hotel is nested in a quiet corner, within walking distance of Sagaogurayama Tabuchiyamacho. Im however a bit disappointed with the limited facilites it offered when compared to the price we paid. We stayed in the Tsukinone Twin Room which is on the third floor of the building. The view is pleasant. The room is of decent size. Yet there were no public onsens. We need to pay YEN5000 for 45 minutes and there are only 2 private onsens. For more luxurious rooms with private onsen, the one I visited was on the ground level with no views as it were by the pathway to the reception , separated by wooden planks. We paid around Yen5000 for the breakfast in the hotel, Both western and japanese breakfasts were offered. We tried both. It is of standard. The 4 different juices presented on the top of the bento box was impressive. The vaccinity is pleasant. We could walk to the train station, the tourist rown area , the nearby parks and the world heritage sites. Nice area .

LLinda SchalkEverything about staying at The Banyan Tree was wonderful.  The property was gorgeous , comfortable, and extremely clean and new feeling.  Everyone who worked there could not do enough to help us have a relaxing stay. They truly made us feel welcome.  I hope I have the chance to stay there again in the future.  Thanks to all of the staff for your thoughtful hospitality!

CcherriecyThe hotel is very pretty, Andre Fu never fails to impress! Breakfast was nice with good variety to choose from, would be great if we can have a drink menu as well. The room was a bit small for 3 ladies and the bathroom is quite transparent. Would be great if switchable smart glass is used instead for the bathroom window for privacy. Despite the minor inconvenience, the bathtub is amazing and spacious. It’s perfect for couple. The thermal spring is clean and is usually not busy. The hotel provides swim suit for guests as it is a mixed pool. The service was smooth and the environment is very relaxing. The only thing we didn’t like about the spring was that there is no natural lights as it is located in the basement. Don’t miss out on the morning breathing session! Special shoutout to the concierge team as they very efficiently helped us with restaurant and workshops recommendation and bookings prior to our arrival. Taxis were arranged promptly every time. We had a really good time in Kyoto and we can’t wait to come back again!

DDmitry NateWe stayed at this guest house in early March. We were delighted! The guest house is located near the bus stop, you can walk and enjoy the views of the village. There is also a transfer. The dinner was simply gorgeous, delicious miso, a large selection of vegetables and broths. Breakfast was also good, although not so varied. Very beautiful garden. The guest house itself is in a traditional style 😍 the owner gave us instructions and a tour, was very polite and friendly. The guest house has some rules, for example, keeping quiet, which creates an atmosphere of complete relaxation. The room itself is clean, the bed linen is fresh, there are instructions on how to lay out the futon. We were given yukatas and warm sweaters, towels and accessories for washing and brushing teeth. There are hair dryers too. There are two onsen, male and female, they alternate to visit each. When we were there, the onsen opened on schedule, but there is enough time to stay. The barrel with hot water is simply gorgeous, in the open air, around the forest. It is forbidden to take photos and videos on the onsen territory. Sorry for breaking the rules, but I wanted to capture this beauty at a time when no one was there. The only thing I missed was some kind of bench next to the onsen in the open air so that you could cool off and sit in the hot water again. But this is probably a purely Russian habit. We were very pleased with our stay in this guest house.

MMibaobaoThe hotel boasts an excellent location, just about a ten-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station and a mere five minutes from Aeon Mall, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel, and subway and Kintetsu stations are also nearby. The hotel breakfast is also great, offering a good variety of both Japanese and Western options, and the service is very attentive. The public bath, however, is quite small. I was hoping to soak there every evening to relax, but on my second night, I encountered someone bizarrely scrubbing their feet and legs in the pool! I was so disgusted I immediately fled and never went back. Luckily, there's a bathtub in the room, so I ended up using that instead. Overall, the hotel offers great value for money, and I'm very satisfied! 🈵
