Extreme experience - the best traditional Japanese hotel that you can imagine. Food is surprisingly good.

A typical Japanese-style old house converted hotel, not a standard business hotel style. Excellent location, quiet in a busy city. The decoration and items in the room are very sophisticated, especially the shower room is very exquisite. There is no restaurant or lobby, and the meals are served indoors. It is a typical Japanese meal, depending on personal habits, and the quality is excellent. Japanese-style service, can speak a little English, but don't expect it to be fluent. Overall a good experience

How can I put it? This is the hotel with the lowest cost-effectiveness I have ever stayed in Japan. No doubt about it. First of all, the price of more than 5,000 a night is not low, but this hotel does not meet this price range in terms of facilities, services, hygiene, and everything else. The facilities are old, very old, the house is not very soundproof, and the layout of the house is hard to describe. The area is originally not small, but it is divided into some small areas (and useless). The bathroom is so small that even a slightly fat person can't stay there. Speaking of the bathroom, the hygiene is also worth complaining about. As soon as you enter the bathroom, there is a smell of urine... The floor mat is visibly dirty, maybe the smell is from the mat, there are no disposable slippers, and the private bath pool is not cleaned, right? There are some human skin tissues on the water surface..... Except for the sleeping and sparse areas, other places are very large Moreover, booking a room with breakfast and dinner is really a big complaint. The taste can be said to be very unpalatable, but the presentation is very beautiful. Because breakfast and dinner are included, many restaurants that you want to eat outside cannot be eaten. Think about it, it is really unnecessary The service is also average. I didn’t feel warm and thoughtful. Before leaving, the room key must be handed to the front desk and not allowed to take it away. I don’t understand On the day of check-out, they kept asking us what time we would leave. We had to check out at 11 o’clock. We repeatedly emphasized that we would go out at 9 o’clock first and come back to check out at 10 o’clock. As a result, when we went out at 9 o’clock, they confirmed again whether the luggage was packed... I said it was packed, and they immediately said that it was great, can we take it down now... We had to say yes, and when we came back, we took down everything. I said I wanted to go back and check if I had left anything, but they didn’t let me. It felt like a coaxing. When I left, I bowed for a long time at the door... In short, don’t believe what Xiaohongshu said, it’s really bad, avoid thunder

After five years of separation, I love "Kumano" the most, a nearly perfect Japanese-style inn, a comfortable house that you must stay in Kyoto👍👍

Seeing is believing. There are many complaints online about the room being small, only a few square meters. The area should be the living room, not the bedroom, toilet, and shower. It is actually very large. The female general was very chatty. When I talked about being here a few years ago, she was surprised and apologized quickly, saying she didn't remember. The older aunt was also very enthusiastic. My wife rented a kimono and took us to take pictures in every corner of the hotel.

The Japanese inn has very considerate and warm service. The rooms are very historical and Japanese style. The Kaiseki cuisine for one night and two meals is of very high quality.

While located in the heart of Kyoto City, this sukiya style lodging has a tranquil atmosphere. This ryokan was established in the early days of the Taisho period to accommodate guests that had come for training in the Japanese art of tea ceremony.

The Main Building allows guests to experience sukiya style architecture firsthand. Traces from when the lodging was constructed in the Taisho period still remain everywhere, with the lustrous floor and pillars telling a story of the lodging’s history.

At the same time, the building added 50 years ago, varies from the Main Building as it has an overall bright image and a refined structure.

Guestrooms feature a structure that allow guests to experience the world view of wabi-sabi (an aesthetic centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection), relaxing tatami-flooring, and a view of the garden or inner courtyard through the window.

During the summer, there is the ‘changing of fixtures,’ a practice which has been passed down in Kyoto from long ago. In order to overcome the heat of summer, once the rainy season is over, reed sliding doors are put up, wickerwork mats are laid out on the tatami flooring, and bamboo screens are hung from guestroom eaves to make it easy for the wind to pass through guestrooms.

Dinner will be provided in the guestroom, so guests can enjoy a leisurely meal in a private space.

Cuisine will be a Kyoto-style kaiseki course meal that primarily features fresh, in-season ingredients and Kyoto vegetables seasoned with a mild broth and which fully utilizes the ingredients’ natural flavor. And guests can also enjoy the meal visually with select serving dishes that match the cuisine.

Dishes will be served one at a time to match guests’ dining pace.

Guests will also be served a leisurely Japanese-style breakfast in their guestroom. For those interested, this can be changed to a Western-style meal.

At this well-established ryokan which has inherited the spirit of Japanese tea ceremony, staying guests...
