Tokyu Stay Kyoto Sanjo-Karasuma

We had a good stay overall. Love the TV, it has Netflix YouTube etc and is placed right in front of the bed. The room is quite small, we cant really move after opening our luggage. Location wise not exactly near anywhere but it’s nearby the metro/subway line.

To start with the positives, the hotel was well located and easily accessible using the metro from Kyoto station. The room was a decent enough size and the staff were friendly and helpful. One major issue we encountered during our stay was the level of humidity in the room. The extractor fan didn't seem to be doing anything to impact moisture in the room, particularly after a warm shower. There was some treated glass above the sink and often this was the only area without moisture well over half an hour after having a shower. (Photos attached) This also meant that towels weren't drying correctly and created an unpleasant environment and ultimately odour in the room. The humidity was so high that the windows were dripping with water consistently and the window sill was actually wet. Additionally the absence of a full wardrobe (just a rail with hangers on) also created challenges when staying for longer than a couple of days and this combined with the humidity made the washing machine almost obsolete.

Free alcohol at lobby, nice room, helpful staffs, longer walk from metro station than expected tho
