Yueshang Mountain Viewing Courtyard

The homestay is located on the hilly part of Lijiang Ancient Town, and cars cannot enter the area. I advise informing the homestay your ETA; they would advise on the nearest drop-off point and fetch you (the drop-off point is a few minutes walk away, but there are steps). The homestay is in an old building (~200 years old), and the steps are very steep. The rooms need more maintenance and cleaning. For instance, one of the beds in our room was hard. Another room had a ceiling leak. The TV console area was dusty. Breakfast is around 8.30 am (if I recall correctly); it’s a pity we had to miss them as we had to leave early on both days. We were told breakfast would be rice noodles, but there wasn’t any food they could give us early in the morning. Nevertheless, the staff were friendly, helpful, and responsive over WeChat. There’s good communication and coordination among them. For instance, we asked about the pick-up point for when we check out, and one of the staff offered to arrange transport to the railway station. The senior staff later messaged me via WeChat about the transport, which cost RMB 60. The staff also helped carry our luggage to the pick-up point (albeit after some discussion, as it was early in the morning and they usually didn’t seem to have anyone on standby that early).

We had a lovely 2-night stay at this cosy guesthouse. The staff (Peng) reached out prior to our check-in to confirm our arrival time, shared the exact location where cars could reach, and helped with our luggage - much appreciated given the stairs and cobbled streets! Peng also gave us good advice on visiting the snow mountain over tea and rose cakes. I liked the relatively quiet location of the guesthouse, which was a pleasant stroll from the old town where the action was!

Enjoyed our stay here. Pros: rooms are lovely, hotel design is quaint and located on lion hill above the old town. Location is good if you don’t mind walking a bit. Staff were friendly and helpful. Cons: walls between rooms are very thin, you can hear everything people say in the next rooms. Breakfast is included, which is nice, but it is the same bowl of noodles every day, and there was no tea or coffee. Still overall, for the price, it’s a nice place to stay.

Helpful staff to help us to carry the luggage, pick up from drop point. The restaurant opposite of the hostel was my daily breakfast places.

The kind host welcomed us with a tea ceremony. Great location. The room is great, but there is really no window. 2 points for improvement. First, smokers are everywhere in the hotel, including at the reception and on you. Not pleasant. The second flaw is that the host tried to help us close the sweat. It turns out that in the end we were taken by a crook who worked all our tricks, the host was not really at fault but we expected more from him. Finally the host even offered us a refund, of course we did not agree.

Nice welcome, decent service and good amenities in the room. They even gave us a gift at the end with the request to give them 5 stars (I guess that is the reason why they have great ratings). BUT, this was one of the dirtiest hotel I have been to in a long time. Sheets and towels were clean but the room itself looks like it hasn’t been deeply cleaned in years. In every corner, surfaces, under the beds, were very dirty. The bathroom was almost disgusting. It is really a pity that they do not invest a tiny little more in cleaning because the place itself is beautiful
