My stay at the hotel was fantastic. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm and welcoming—they came out to meet me, helped carry my luggage, and although my room wasn’t ready due to my early arrival, they invited me to rest at the concierge area. They even served me some food and chatted with me about my trip. It felt incredibly genuine—they weren’t intrusive, just sincerely interested in helping make my journey smoother. I hadn’t realized that I needed to book tickets in advance for Yulong Snow Mountain, but they quickly stepped in to help. They guided me through setting up the local app, explained the ticketing process, and offered to assist in securing the tickets when they became available that evening. All the while, they kept serving tea—generous and kind throughout. While they prepared the room, I took a walk around the town. They created a WeChat group chat to stay in touch, which was a very efficient way to communicate. Once the room was ready, they notified me, and I was able to check in and rest. The room itself had a charming, traditional style—efficiently designed and nicely decorated. There were thoughtful amenities like a humidifier and even free beer. The only thing that felt slightly missing was a fridge, but with the cool weather, it wasn’t really necessary. My room opened onto a shared balcony that offered a spectacular view of Yulong Snow Mountain. Staying in the ancient city meant I could also see the town from the rooftop—a truly breathtaking perspective. On a clear morning, I caught a glimpse of the snow mountain at sunrise, and it was magical. Another highlight of the stay was how knowledgeable the staff were when it came to local food and café recommendations. They suggested a variety of places—some tucked away, some more popular—and every single one was spot on. Whether it was a cozy café for a slow morning or a great spot for dinner, their suggestions never disappointed. It really added to the richness of the experience, as I got to enjoy not just the sights, but also the tastes of the city. Thanks to the hotel staff, I managed to secure the Snow Mountain tickets without stress. They were incredibly efficient and clearly experienced in helping guests navigate local logistics. Throughout my stay, they continued to offer heartfelt service—serving fruit at the front desk, preparing hearty breakfasts, and always greeting me with warmth. On my final day, they once again went above and beyond. It was Qingming Festival, and getting a taxi was difficult, with most drivers unavailable. The staff quickly arranged for one of their own drivers to take me to the train station—no hesitation, just pure professionalism and care. This stay wasn’t just about comfort—it was about the warmth and hospitality that made it feel like I was among friends. Truly a unique and heartwarming experience.

Our stay at Xinsu has been nothing short of amazing. What differentiates this homestay from the rest is the warmth we experienced from the staff. The staff were all very kind and friendly, chatting with us and sharing their knowledge of Lijiang and the Chinese ethnic culture. We had arrived in Lijiang with a very skeletal itinerary and no clue that we had to book Jade Dragon Mountain 3 days in advance. The staff at Xinsu thoroughly went through our itinerary with us and suggested various locations including Lashihai Wetland Area. They also tried their best to help us fight for the last minute tickets to Jade Dragon Mountain. Although we were not able to secure the last minute tickets, we are incredibly appreciative of the effort from the staff as they went the extra mile to extend a helping hand. Xinsu staff were also very conscientious, helping us to arrange private transport with a lady driver as we were two female travellers. The lady driver was also very accommodating and had continued to bring us around when we travelled up to ShangriLa. As an accommodation, Xinsu had everything we needed as well, lots of water for us to get used to the lack of humidity, a humidifier, a washer and dryer that was easily accessible. When we ordered in some Aloe Vera gel for some sun burns we suffered, the staff mentioned that guests could simply ask them for such items, and there was no need to spend the extra dollars. We were very surprised to hear that, as we did not have much experience with home stays before. This made us feel very well taken care of. Best part of Xinsu was the location. We could see the Jade Dragon Mountain every morning and the hotel oversees the rest of the Lijiang Ancient City. It was a very beautiful sight to wake up to in the morning, and a serene way to end our day when we returned to spend the night. Note to future guests: Be sure to reach out to the homestay as early as possible. Xinsu staff earnestly help to make your stay with them as smooth as possible. Word of caution to future travellers visiting Lijiang Ancient City: As the paths are made of pebbles/stone and have been gradually polished over the years, please wear a good pair of shoes and walk carefully through the city. We had heard from the staff that it is a common occurrence for guests to sprain their ankles, and we ourselves had almost slipped a few times as well.

We had a fantastic stay at this homestay. The staffs were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and their local food recommendations were absolutely spot-on—best meals I had during my trip! The room had a beautiful view of the snow mountain and ancient town, which made the experience even more relaxing. They were also very responsive on WeChat, which made communication super easy and convenient. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable, well-connected, and memorable stay.

The highlight of our 5 nights in Lijiang is definitely the conversations we had with the 3 staff at the xinsu! We were always greeted warmly by them, with an invitation to sit, drink tea, and chit chat with the team. I must add that they have a great sense of humour. The team was always ready to answer our questions (via WeChat) while we are out :D [these conversations were in mandarin]. Part way through our stay, they asked if we were ok to switch room with an old couple who had difficulties climbing to higher levels - I suppose this was a great blessing for us! The 2nd room on the 4th level had great view. If weather permits, we can see 玉龙雪山 from the tea place! Unfortunately, the days that we were there were cloudy/rainy. Attached is a photo of what we saw on the balcony just outside this room (when we were still staying in the first room).

I hope this post will share more. You can add them on WeChat using their phone number. They can arrange transportation for you to & fro the accommodation, and will even help you with your luggages. I don't need to say more about the stunning views and the service. As I can speak some Mandarin, I could have some chit chat and they are really a very nice group of people. Didn't have their breakfast as I am not a breakfast person. Oh, you could ask them for tips on how to plan your trip, they might even do it for you Unforgettable

The level of customer experience blew us away even before we checked in. The staff made sure to reach out to us and connect so that they can help us with getting into the hotel. They greeted us with a welcome snack. They were ready to answer all our questions. The room had a comfy bed and a fabulous view. Make sure that you have a good mobility because there are quite many stairs you need to go up. We were able to do our laundry on site as well. The view of sunrise is amazing from there.

We stayed for 2nights here and I’d say that It was a perfect hotel for us. The view was amazing, you can see the snow mountain and the room were clean and complete of amenities. The staff were so accommodating and helpful. Even though there is a language barrier as we don’t speak chinese, they did their best to communicate with us. Would love to stay here again we are to come back.
