Very friendly family ran hotel. The greatest advantage is its location, which is only a few mins walk from one of the viewing platforms. The room are well maintained and clean. We booked the sunrise view room and the balcony looked like a painting. Logistically, you need to take the village tourist shuttle to get here from the Ping’an Village parking lot because it’s located within the protected area. You must let the ticket vendor know the name of your hotel so they drop you off at the right one (there are multiple hotels inside the protected area)
This hotel is also about a 30 min walk from another viewing platform, which I would recommend doing if you have the time, as the walk was mostly flat and the scenery along the way was very nice as well.
Breakfast is quite typical of the area and the dinner was also quite nice. Overall would stay here again!

We had really comfortable stay. The large windows on the room provided us with a fantastic gorgeous view of the terraced rice fields ! Amazing !! The host was very friendly. We arrived late in the evening , almost 9pm. He told us kitchen was closed but had no issues with cooking us a simple meal of noodles with vegetables fresh from his garden. He wanted to slaughter a chicken too but when we saw the innocent being , we could not. We told him we’ll just have a vegetarian meal ! Breakfast of noodles was also delicious. So fresh , so home cooked. LOVED it! This accommodation was on top of a steep hill. The owner came down to our car to help us with the luggage. Definitely worth staying here again !!

The location of the hotel is very convenient. It only takes about 10 minutes to walk to the Thousand-Layered Ladder. It is also about 10 minutes to drive to the No. 1 Observation Deck and the Golden Buddha Observation Deck. The room is clean, the bedding is neat and hygienic, and the sleep is very comfortable. In particular, the boss and the boss's wife are very good. They upgraded the room type on the first day of the off-season. Not only did they send a car to pick me up, but also when I accidentally got lost twice while playing outside, the boss drove to pick me up without saying a word. We took special bus from Yangshuo straight to Dazhai, then the owner had someone fetch us from DaZhai parking lot and drove a few minutes to the parking lot nearest their hotel. How did we book and organize this? We simply contacted the hotel via WeChat and they helped arrange everything for us.
15min hike, and we are in the hotel. No elevator, but there was a cable car that carried our stuff up to the mountain. The room was fantastic, the location was superb, the food was good. Even if you do not leave the hotel and just stayed inside the room, you'll have a fantastic time.
Water is from spring so it's fresh and potable. You can wash your clothes for free but depending on the season, it may take a long time to dry. They don't have dryer and we could only hang our clothes.
View from the room is good, and going up to the viewing platform only takes around 6 minutes.

The hotel is very good, and the scenery is picturesque! The whole check-in process was pleasant and reassuring, and the boss was even more attentive and enthusiastic. It was a very satisfying stay experience, recommended!!! The room is consistent with the picture, the decoration style is very much liked, the various facilities are beautifully arranged, and the hygiene is clean. Check-in is assured. The boss will come down to pick you up when you park in the parking lot, which is really convenient. Living on the mountain, the air is fresh and quiet, and it feels great to be shrouded in terraced fields and mist when you wake up! I slept soundly all night, and I will choose this hotel next time!

The round bed room is pretty cool. It gives a view over Seven Stars with Moon. We enjoyed very much the traditional Yao’s style architecture. The building and the rooms are all made of wood. The food in the hotel restaurant is tasty esp. the chicken in bamboo. The owners are hospitable. They provided a lot of useful information like the instruction to get to DaZhai, what are nicest viewing spots and how to get PinAn by hiking.

I am so happy to travel to Guilin! I happened to come to Midu and I was not disappointed!
Facilities: The view in the room is super beautiful, the panoramic room is great for taking pictures, all the necessary facilities are available, and they are all automated!

Hygiene: The room was very clean!
Environment: The decoration is in wooden style, and the furniture is made of solid old ship wood, which is heavy and has a good texture. The doors and windows are triple-layered for sound insulation, keeping warm, windproof and soundproof. The air conditioner is on in the winter night and the room is very warm.
Service: The owner and his family are very hospitable. They upgraded our room for free and are very pet-friendly. I enjoyed gathering around the fireplace in the hall to keep warm, roast oranges and drink tea.
The rice is delicious, I recommend the stir-fried local chicken, it’s so delicious, the ingredients are very fresh!

It's pretty good. A lot of disposable items are provided, such as disposable bath towels, disposable bathtub bags, and toilet mats. The boss really put a lot of thought into making them. It is recommended to add a disposable water cup. There is also a smart toilet and wireless charging, which is quite a surprise. The water in the bathtub was not hot enough, it was more like a decoration. The rice fish is delicious and fresh, highly recommended! The breakfast was delicious and there was no charge for refills. The room was huge!

BBelen [bailing]It's my second time coming to their hotel. The rooms are beautiful and really big with incredible views of the area. The owner is also extremely helpful, they will send you information of how to get there in advance and will come and pick you up from the parking lot of Ping'an village if necessary.
We even forgot some things on the room and he was really fast to send it by mail to us. He speaks very good English.
You can order breakfast and dinner there and their food is delicious 😋. I'll definitely come back.

The owners were very welcoming and accommodating, they gave us a room with a view on the rice terraces. They also gave us some fruits when we arrived. The food is really good and you can have all meals there. They offer a free ride from and to the parking lot where most shuttles, buses and taxis arrive. My sister and I strongly recommend this hotel.

GGuest UserThe family who run are very accommodating and friendly. They’re on the lower part of the village which is good because not so many stairs to climb up to reach them, but the view is just the side of the rice terraces not overlooking them all. They helped us carry our bags up and were quick to supply us with whatever we were lacking. The rooms were very clean and new, nice woodsy smell, and excellent views of greenery outside. We loved sitting out on the balcony in the evening, it’s so quiet and dark with the sounds of a small waterfall and frogs. She made us breakfast according to our time schedule, really delicious traditional rice noodles with fried eggs. We had dinner there one evening too and really liked her style of cooking. We all agreed it was the best rice we’ve had in China! I would definitely recommend staying!

This B&B is run by several post-90s (post-95s) people.
80% of the villages in this village are homestays.
But most of the guests in our B&B are foreigners, mostly French (maybe it has something to do with the name of the hotel: Lavie)
During our stay, we met many French people
The three young clerks all speak very good English.
Occasionally, I am invited to help translate in other stores.
For example, a Brazilian tour group came a few days ago
But people in the village basically don’t speak English.
The shop owner was invited to translate
The service is very considerate
The chickens we eat are all freshly killed and the vegetables are grown by ourselves.

GGuest UserThe hotel is situated really nice in the village and the view from the room is good, it is possible to see the rice terraces; the only downside is the tree blocking partly the view on the terraces.
The village itself is very quiet, many hotels/restaurants closed down during/after covid, and it was really different compared to the vibrant life we saw back in 2017 when we also visited this village.
The room was basic but really nice and clean and the bed comfortable.
The owners do not speak English, but were super friendly and helpful. They arranged transfers from/to the airport, were happy to give us tips about the surroundings and made sure we always had enough hot&cold drinking water.
The dinner (which you can buy from the menu) was ok, but there are better restaurants in town.
The free breakfast was very simple.
All in all we had a nice stay at this hotel.

GGuest UserBooked a parent-child and double room. The hotel is located in Jinkeng Terraces, with view decks 1.2 on the left and 3 on the right. There are rice fields right outside the door. There is a stream a few steps down from the hotel. It is very parent-child friendly! The hotel is hygienic and clean, and the food in the store is delicious. Auntie Fa is very nice and the boss is very enthusiastic. The luggage is sent directly to the hotel. The car is parked at the foot of the hotel and it takes five minutes to walk to the hotel. There are stone steps on the mountain road and there is a road. It is full of childhood memories and I saw many plants that I saw when I was a child. Worth recommending^^

JJulieHad an incredible stay here! The views are stunning (probably one of the best out of all the other accommodations nearby), the room was clean and the service was friendly. It's a family owned business and everyone is lovely. If you're taking a bus, it won't drop you all the way to the hotel but if you give the hotel a call, someone can come pick you up from the bus stop. I had a bit of a miscommunication with my previous hotel who arranged a coach for us that dropped us off at a very far away drop off point and someone still came and picked us up from there with no complaints (and did not charge us for it)!! We were also dropped back off at the bus stop on the day we left. No one spoke much English which made it a little harder, but we got by with a translator app. There are quite a few stairs to go up to get to the hotel which isn't great if you have lots of heavy luggage so I'd recommend packing lightly if possible. Having said that, if you have average fitness, you should be fine getting up and down the stairs, the trek is not too long. The views are definitely worth it! Would stay again for sure.

GGuest UserAs a family with a little kid we spent one night here! Pick up from the parking lot, including a carrier for our suitcase were easy to organise. The host speaks some English and communication via WeCaht was quick. The view from the hotel and the room were magnificent! The family served excellent dinner and we recommend trying their specialties! Had a great stay in a very relaxing and calm environment!
