I recently stayed at Elaf Ajyad Hotel Makkah, and overall, it was an average experience. Here’s a breakdown:

Although the hotel is at a better location, their service is the worst. They have a shuttle service, but it will pick you up halfway up the cliff and drop you off there (you have to walk half way and wait there for more than ten minutes). The staff works very slowly, and the receptionists are rude and disrespectful. The phone service in the hotel room is also non-functional. The carpets are dirty and full of stains , toiletries (check in picture) .I will advise keeping this hotel as the last option if you wish to travel there to fulfill religious obligations with your family . the last photo I provided shows an employee treating customers in a nasty and disrespectful manner.

I used Elaf Anaya’s 20 years ago and it was amazing. Although not as close to the Haram as other hotels, the shuttle provided was frequent and dropped one to the haram. Now the shuttle is on its last legs. The drop off is 100 m from the hotel and 500m to the haram. The rooms are tired looking- carpets look unclean and the bathroom facilities is outdated with stained fabric shower curtains, defective toilets. Even though this was reported on day one, 6 days later no plumber was around to fix it. Although the clean room sign is placed on the door, the room is not cleaned until you catch the cleaner in the corridor to ask him. The towels and loo rolls are not always replenished. The door swipe keys kept getting jammed and despite being 5 travellers with 5 keys, we were only issued with 2 defective keys. I also discovered that there were cockroaches living with us and the dead pigeon spotted on our balcony on day 1 , was still there as we left today.The breakfast is average.
I don’t intend to ever return, it was a real nostalgic downer.

I had a lovely stay at Elaf Ajyad. The staff were fantastic—so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I originally booked a room with two bedrooms and two bathrooms but was given a triple room instead. Thankfully, the receptionist quickly resolved the issue without much hassle. The room I stayed in was very spacious, which made my stay even more comfortable.
The hotel is located on a hill, which might not be ideal for older travellers or anyone with mobility issues. However, they do offer a shuttle service to take you up and down the hill. Just be prepared to wait a little when it comes to pick-ups.
While the staff are great, the management system can sometimes be a bit slow, so you might need to be patient or follow up with them.
Overall, for the price I paid, it was a great experience. Travelling without any older family members, it worked perfectly for me, and I’d definitely stay here again.

rooms are very old. very small washroom.
elevator is terrible. you loose a lot of time.
rooms are not clean enough. better to choose another hotel. we are coming to Makkah for many years and did not see such bad hotel.
only the location is somehow good, but you need to climb, which takes efforts.

A very good hotel which is near to Haram. The downside is the hilly area. But at least they have a buggy shuttle to bring u down and up to the hotel entrance. On amenities wise, best if the room could be vacummed each time new guest check in. Overall i enjoyed my stay there

Issuing of the Hotel Confirmation Number was too close to the check in day (1 day before) make me worry if then the room was not available when I came.
On the check in day, I should waiting until the exact time (16:00) just to communicate with the receptionist
