Hotels Near The Malay and Islamic World Museum in Melaka

The hotel is newly opened however the maintenance of the room is poor/ dirty. I realised this seems to be normal for most hotels in Malaysia. Eg - it can be a new hotel but they don’t seems to keep it well-maintained after some months. Unlike what Singapore hotels do - constantly keeping the standards high and clean. The front desk staff are mostly helpful and friendly, especially Ms. Noor - showing us her big smile everytime we passed by the front desk, or asked her for help. Thank you Trip for asking this and allowing me to share my experience. The hotel is well located. Walking distance to many places like Jonker Street, Church, Food, Shopping, Etc. The hotel prices is fair stating 5star but actually this place not so Great. As family I took a join room n was granted. The size of the room was small. Maintenance was poor. Pool was less chlorinated but dirty water. Facilities was under maintained almost falling apart. Food wasn’t as expected. Needed to validate e Carpark coupon everytime as u check out. Worse was e Beds, it’s really old n sunken in. Had hard time sleeping. Overall e hotel stay wasn’t a good experience. E r other hotel very close n may b a little higher in price but much cleaner. If ur going as family n u just need a place to crash, then it may b fine. I only stayed one day in malacca n if I had extended, I would hv changed hotel. Overall this won’t b my choice hotel in future stays. Attached r some pictures of e defects I experienced. E service was fairly ok.

The hotel was much bigger than we had anticipated. It is a really beautiful place, hidden away in the nice city of Melaka. The lobby is beautifully designed, but freezing and the whole hotel seemed drenched in some kind of perfume, which made me a bit dizzy. Our room had the weirdest smell- but I think it was intentional...as though they had made it smell like that on purpose...like mouldy hay. The room was really pretty and the little patio is a nice touch. We informed the desk that we's be checking out at 12:50. but still, the same concierge called us at 12:00, waiting impatiently for us to check out. We were also hardly ever greeted upon entering the hotel. Weird. Once everything is done, I'm sure it will be a nice place. I wish the plants were real. They are all plastic and it shows, unfortunately. The location is perfect, just around the corner from China Town and Junkers Walk. I think it's a decent place to stay for a night or two.

Residence was easy to find, i would say the room is a good spacious one for a family of six. however, good to provide wifi and washing machine to use. (washing machine was there, but not allowed to use). staff werent friendly. perhaps manpower issue as well when our door was unable to open and they sent up a non-maintenance staff to check, and we ended up waiting for more than 30mins outside the door at 10pm for the maintenance staff to come and fix the door n give a new card. our card was unable to use, and the door battery was low too. 👎 no clothes rack too. other than that, our stay was ok.

My stay at Bayview Hotel Melaka was truly memorable, thanks in part to the exceptionally helpful and friendly front desk staff. However, what truly stood out was the warmth and professionalism of the front desk staff. From check-in to check-out, they were always ready to assist with a smile, offering valuable tips and ensuring all my needs were met promptly. For those seeking a blend of comfort, nostalgia, and outstanding hospitality in Melaka, Bayview Hotel Melaka is highly recommended.

7th floor, Premier room, balcony can't be locked, and there was a child with us, but we chose not to change rooms. Overall, it's okay, but the cleanliness is a bit problematic. The room still has a lot of dust, and the bathroom is in the corner, dirty. Good location, next to the mall, there is Mr. DIY, a restaurant. Overall, it's okay, but the cleanliness is not good enough.

This is a very new hotel which started their business in March 2023. Wanted to try on the first day of opening but due to some reason, it was delayed till now. It’s a first Marriott hotel in Melaka, so I do have very high expectations from them. As a Marriott platinum elite member, I’ve stayed in many hotel under Marriott organisation. Upon reaching the hotel with grab car, the staff came up to me immediately and lead me to the check in counter, the lobby are huge, and I can still smell that the hotel are still so new. Not much of the guest in the lobby area, it’s a Monday so I guess it’s normal. No suite room upgrade and no complimentary breakfast for a platinum member, although I was upgraded to a strait view room which I appreciated it. It can see a tiny bit of the sea. Apart from that, I guess the room size and amenity are the same. The check in staff told me that the suite room was full… I mean.. it’s a Monday.. and I literally still can see the suite room was available in the Bonvoy app. As I’ve mentioned, I’ve been to many hotel under Marriott organisation. I don’t always get upgraded to a suite room, but it was okay, I do understand all these are subjected to individual hotel policy and it’s all a good will. But I guess the staff could just tell me that the hotel are still new, the suite room are limited and it’s reserved for paying guest. I would totally understand that. But I don’t think it’s wise to you know, use a default replied as member like us, we check on the app. For me, if there’s no available suite room, I wouldn’t even ask for an upgrade. Secondly, there’s no complimentary breakfast, I paid RM70 for the 2 day breakfast. I’ve stayed in a few courtyard hotel, this was the first one that I’ve paid for breakfast, there might be other courtyard that don’t provide complimentary breakfast for guest with elite status, maybe I didn’t stay much enough to see it all. I’ve stayed with hotel that told me that their facility actually don’t offer complimentary breakfast for elite member, but they will just give it to me as a good will on top of my welcome gift. Just a little suggestion, like maybe let the counter staff to decide, if they could slip in some complimentary breakfast to guest with elite status or even guest that potentially come back again. I’m not complaining here, just some of my suggestions. The room are new, nice and spacious, very clean. Nice TV channel selection, view was great. Bed are firm to the level that I like, they offer pillow menu as well. Had very good sleep for the 2 night. Breakfast was very basic. There’s a very annoying flies flying around my table.. how did it come into the hotel, lol. Gym are small but there should be everything you need. The infinity pool are great! Very good view and very Instagrammable. Please visit the pool when you are here. The staff and friendly and nice. Would come back again to the hotel when I’m back in Melaka.

Tips: Opt for room type suites with balcony and facing Sungai Melaka for spacious and best view. Pros: Fast check-in & check-out. Room is clean. Free covered parking. Spacious bathroom with bath tub. Free wifi but signal not that strong. Extensive no of tv channels minus the sports channel. Air condition works well. Cons: Its layout makes the premier room looks cramped. Faulty refrigerator; not cooling. No in-room ironing & board. Confusing facilities signages; lift, stairs. Small pools and gym.

The staff service was good. The amenities were great. Breakfast was good as there was a lot of variety. The location is a little far from Malacca City Centre but there were good food eateries within walking distance. Not much of shopping though.
