Hotels Near Umyang Batik in Melaka

The hotel was much bigger than we had anticipated. It is a really beautiful place, hidden away in the nice city of Melaka. The lobby is beautifully designed, but freezing and the whole hotel seemed drenched in some kind of perfume, which made me a bit dizzy. Our room had the weirdest smell- but I think it was intentional...as though they had made it smell like that on purpose...like mouldy hay. The room was really pretty and the little patio is a nice touch. We informed the desk that we's be checking out at 12:50. but still, the same concierge called us at 12:00, waiting impatiently for us to check out. We were also hardly ever greeted upon entering the hotel. Weird. Once everything is done, I'm sure it will be a nice place. I wish the plants were real. They are all plastic and it shows, unfortunately. The location is perfect, just around the corner from China Town and Junkers Walk. I think it's a decent place to stay for a night or two.

The hotel is newly opened however the maintenance of the room is poor/ dirty. I realised this seems to be normal for most hotels in Malaysia. Eg - it can be a new hotel but they don’t seems to keep it well-maintained after some months. Unlike what Singapore hotels do - constantly keeping the standards high and clean. The front desk staff are mostly helpful and friendly, especially Ms. Noor - showing us her big smile everytime we passed by the front desk, or asked her for help. Here’s an improved version of your review: This is an honest review of our stay with family, including seniors and two children (ages 2 and 7). Location: The location is excellent. There are shops, restaurants, and convenience stores nearby. The hotel is connected to a mall, making it easy to access KFC, Soul Garden, Starbucks, Subway, and local shops. The mall also has a Mr. DIY store. If you have time, you can visit the small sea aquarium and Shore Tower, which are nearby attractions. Things to Note: • If you book the apartment side of the Shore, there is no Wi-Fi or intercom. While Wi-Fi isn’t an issue if you have a SIM card or data plan, the lack of an intercom is inconvenient. Any requests require walking down to the lobby, which is a short distance from the apartment. • The apartment includes a microwave and fridge, but despite being advertised, washing machines and ovens are not available for use. Kids’ Swimming Pool: The kids’ pool is fun and safe, but be cautious as the flooring is not slip-resistant. Breakfast: It’s best to go for breakfast at 7:00 AM or after 9:00 AM to avoid long queues. The breakfast is quite standard. Elevators: Expect some waiting time, especially before check-out hours. Overall, the location is great for families, but there are some areas for improvement.

The hotel was previously known as Ramada Hotel. Dusit Princess conmends operation in early December 2024. So, they may have to tidied up before operation. Thus, it is clean, room big enough for 3 Adults. The showers' water strength were strong. Hot water temperature control was good and consistent. Air-conditioning temperature was not consistent although fan speed was ok. The gym is well equipped. Swimming pools look clean good for both adults and children. Overall, I would recommend to stay.

Hatten Hotel Melaka offers an excellent stay in the heart of the city, conveniently located near key attractions like Jonker Street and A Famosa. While the elevators can be slow during peak times, the overall experience remains exceptional for a central and relaxing stay in Melaka.

Great location and good service. The room is also spacious. Just need to have improvements on their cleanliness and add additional chairs in the room as only got 1 chair for 3 pax family room.

Great location with excellent facilities including a fantastic pool and stunning views. The staff were friendly and attentive. The room were spacious and clean, making it deal for families with young children. Breakfast was delightful, and the shopping options nearby were convenient. Overall, a wonderful stay

Booked deluxe room but somehow got a suite (wasn't informed of this change). Checked in at almost 6pm but was told room wasn't ready so we had to wait 10mins, which was quite disappointing. Hotel is pretty dated but it is clean. Both tv not working in the suite. So good chance to just rest well after walking around

This is a very new hotel which started their business in March 2023. Wanted to try on the first day of opening but due to some reason, it was delayed till now. It’s a first Marriott hotel in Melaka, so I do have very high expectations from them. As a Marriott platinum elite member, I’ve stayed in many hotel under Marriott organisation. Upon reaching the hotel with grab car, the staff came up to me immediately and lead me to the check in counter, the lobby are huge, and I can still smell that the hotel are still so new. Not much of the guest in the lobby area, it’s a Monday so I guess it’s normal. No suite room upgrade and no complimentary breakfast for a platinum member, although I was upgraded to a strait view room which I appreciated it. It can see a tiny bit of the sea. Apart from that, I guess the room size and amenity are the same. The check in staff told me that the suite room was full… I mean.. it’s a Monday.. and I literally still can see the suite room was available in the Bonvoy app. As I’ve mentioned, I’ve been to many hotel under Marriott organisation. I don’t always get upgraded to a suite room, but it was okay, I do understand all these are subjected to individual hotel policy and it’s all a good will. But I guess the staff could just tell me that the hotel are still new, the suite room are limited and it’s reserved for paying guest. I would totally understand that. But I don’t think it’s wise to you know, use a default replied as member like us, we check on the app. For me, if there’s no available suite room, I wouldn’t even ask for an upgrade. Secondly, there’s no complimentary breakfast, I paid RM70 for the 2 day breakfast. I’ve stayed in a few courtyard hotel, this was the first one that I’ve paid for breakfast, there might be other courtyard that don’t provide complimentary breakfast for guest with elite status, maybe I didn’t stay much enough to see it all. I’ve stayed with hotel that told me that their facility actually don’t offer complimentary breakfast for elite member, but they will just give it to me as a good will on top of my welcome gift. Just a little suggestion, like maybe let the counter staff to decide, if they could slip in some complimentary breakfast to guest with elite status or even guest that potentially come back again. I’m not complaining here, just some of my suggestions. The room are new, nice and spacious, very clean. Nice TV channel selection, view was great. Bed are firm to the level that I like, they offer pillow menu as well. Had very good sleep for the 2 night. Breakfast was very basic. There’s a very annoying flies flying around my table.. how did it come into the hotel, lol. Gym are small but there should be everything you need. The infinity pool are great! Very good view and very Instagrammable. Please visit the pool when you are here. The staff and friendly and nice. Would come back again to the hotel when I’m back in Melaka.

Upon checkin the staffs will WhatsApp to check if everything is ok which I like this way of communication as the response was very fast. All the crew staffs were well mannered and I must say their service was top notch. The setup of the 3rd bed was fast and immediate upon arriving at our room. Hotel view was fantastic from 26th floor twin guest room. Room was clean well equipped though the aircon was very cold but that’s better than hot. International breakfast has a widespread of variety from western to Chinese to Muslim and Indian foods. We will definitely come back to this hotel for our future trips.
