Manali Heights

This was our first time in Manali. We were a bit apprehensive since this was a 3 star hotel. But I should admit that the hotel exceeded my expectations. In terms of location, it is located near the Hidimba temple but yet quite secluded from the rush. Do not expect it to be hotel with great facilities as it is a relatively old hotel, but they have all their basics in place. They still use the lock and key system instead of the card system, but we were ok. The rooms are clean and the staff is courteous, The best part is the food in their restaurant. It is very nice food but at the same time not very typical heavy food that one finds in North Indian restaurants/ cuisines. The only thing to avoid are the rooms near the car park. We were there for 3 nights were booked in 2 rooms near the car park. It was not an issue for us as we used to come back to the hotel only to have our dinner and would leave the hotel in the morning for sightseeing after having our breakfast. The restaurant only opens at around 8 am in the morning and hence if you want to leave early, the restaurant is able to pack a nice breakfast for you. It met all our expectations and we had a pleasant stay at Manali Heights. I would definitely recommend this hotel to those traveling with family and young kids.

The Rock Manali Centrally Heated Property

We stayed here for 3 days. It is a good budget property with good location, right on the main road and away from the rush/congestion of mall road. The only problem during our stay was the loud music on almost all 3 days at night from the party hall they have on the first floor. The crowd was bad at the hotel, probably due to the cheap rates? the staff was good, but they need to manage the crowd in their hotel. Lots of youngsters, who were very roudy. We had people ringing our door bell at 12 in the night, and here was constant shouting in the lobby, which spolied an otherwise good stay. The other problem was that the hot water was not available before 7 am. Not that we needed it, but one day we had to request them to turn it on when we needed to use the bathroom early. The gym/spa and the kids activity area which is supposed to be in the 3rd floor was not functional.

We visited Karma Utopia Resort in Manali in Jan '24 our stay was for 7 nights from 19 - 26 Jan '24. My main agenda to visit Manali in Jan was to experience snowfall which did not happen during our stay. Apart from that our stay was wonderful, most memorable holiday in a very long time. The resort location though little away from the Mall road but it's Bang opposite Hidimba Devi temple. Our room was with balcony with a wonderful view. Very spacious & cozy rooms with spacious bathroom. They have a central heating system so however cold the temperature might be outside we were very comfortable once in our rooms. During our stay it was chilling cold with temperature going down to -1 & below at night, evenings would be so chilling cold that we had to rush to the comfort of our room. They had also provided us with an extra heater for the times when the central heating would be off. Must say Karma does take good care of their members. Kudos to that! The Staff here is very cooperative from the GM Mr. Tulsi, very humble & soft spoken always ready to help. Have to Thank him for giving my husband, Vijay Kothari the honour of unfurling the Flag on the republic day function at the resort for being the oldest member present, that was a very good gesture. Infact, Mr. Tulsi also sent a video of the first snowfall which happened just 4 days after we left i.e. on 30th Jan, thanks for being so thoughtful Special mention for all the Utopia front desk, house keeping & restaurant staff 1. Mr. Manoj at the front desk for always being helpful with a smile. 2. Mr. Mangtu & his housekeeping team for their services and maintaining all rooms & resort so well. Mr. Mangtu also video called us to show us the live snowfall, thank you for that! 3. The restaurant staff & chef for serving us the most yummy breakfast/meals. Yes, I would love to visit Karma Utopia again next Winter to fulfill my wish to experience live snowfall... Infact, I was just joking with my husband that we will go to Manali every year until my wish is fulfilled 😉

Loved their hospitality, both restaurant and hotel staff was well mannered and made our stay worth living. We arrived at manali around 1 am at night after a long journey, first thing they asked us was if we had dinner ! that was very kind & impressive gesture.
