The hotel is very close to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and a walk takes place. The rooms are small but beautifully furnished. Two bottles of Evian mineral water are delivered every day. The first day has fruit bowls. Many people in the lobby elevators wear clothes to highlight New York fashion. It was unfortunate that I met an Oolong front desk man and gave me two pre-authorizations. I had to pay a hundred for the prepayment of the house. Amazing location and huge room even for the price. Very clean with multiple room tidying services per day. Only thing is that the mini fridge is too small and filled with drinks. I was charged for the minibar after I removed the drinks to put my own drinks in. They waived it thereafter.

It is about 3-5 minutes walk from the subway station, about 10 minutes walk from Fifth Avenue, and about 15 minutes walk from St.Patrick Cathedral. There are many delicious restaurants around : Japanese, Western and Chinese. The hotel is not very big and very welcoming. The front desk staff is very welcoming. The hotel rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, there are coffee makers and kettles in the room, and there are troublesome all kinds of coffee, hot chocolate and tea in the lobby. Breakfast was not included in this reservation, so it was not possible to comment. The hotel has underground parking but charges apply. I will stay next time I go to Manhattan and recommend this hotel to everyone.

The location of the hotel was great. We mostly walked everywhere (i.e. Times Square, Broadway, Empire State, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, etc ...), walking distance was good and there was a cab stand right outside the hotel when we were too tired to walk ... All areas were always clean and room cleaning service was great. Concierge and Customer Service always cattered to our needs. We would definetely go back to this hotel again on a next trip to the big Apple!

I fell for Octopus Carpaccio and Dover sole ...a savoury medley from the sea. Bemelmans Bar is one of the greatest old school cocktail spots in NYC. I took in Ludwig Bemelman's (the creator of the classic Madeline children's books) whimsical murals on the wall, savoured a signature martini from the bar and listened to the incredible nightly piano talent. The Cafe Carlyle is a Cabaret-styled Supper Club, sporting entertainment luminaries and a minimalist menu borrowed from the Dowling. The Carlyle has notable amenities in the form of the Valmont Spa: a luxe wellness centre allowing guests to experience a bevy of treatment options, a Fitness Center, amply outfitted, allowing me to follow my exercise regime while traveling, and Afternoon tea is offered in the Gallery. I came to NYC to watch my daughter dance. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Not only was my room large, it was clean and comfortable which made it easy to feel at home. The front desk, cleaning staff and doorman, were kind and provided service that was exemplary. I will definitely return to the Hotel Beacon in the future.
